What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My SAK Compact today. I am constantly amazed at the useful tools contained in this knife. I have used every one of them, at least once. Obviously, this is not mine, but they all look the same.

David - Absolutely stunning my friend :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Daggum David. That integral Damascus is crazy intriguing. Gratzi!

David, that integral from Haley is wonderful. I am jealous.
Chris

Beautiful knife, David!

Thanks for all the kind words and emoticons :) As I replied to Gary in another thread, I met Haley at the Seattle show this Summer where she had a piece very similar to this one, but it sold immediately upon the doors opening. I chatted with her about the possibility of building another one and she kindly agreed (though she had a lot on her plate with preparing for the Master Smith test). A couple months ago she contacted me to ask if I was still interested, which, of course, I was :). I'm really grateful for this one - it's a beautiful and very functional piece from a maker who is VERY talented IMHO.

Thanks :) I really like it too. It's a great lock back knife. One of my favorites
Friedr. Dick (Germany) has it on their site under "Ancillary items for chefs" ... "Pocket Knife, olive wood handle"

Nice summers day in the vineyard, been carrying my favourite.
It's a Toms Choice, from the second run.

Home, just before a resharpen and a good clean!

FANTASTIC version Jamie:cool::thumbup: If somebody were to put up a thread along the lines of Best Knife You've Got This Year....I'd show my 38s Bone and Wood have pleased me no end. Construction & finish is remarkable and it feels right in the hand. But that Stag!! dayumm:D:D:D

Thanks, Will

I'm opting for Queen's Small Stockman today. Extremely well made knife I got on the Exchange earlier this year, the coin came with it, yr American coins are most attractive:D

Thanks, Jack. :) ("Smashing" is a word I'm going to try to use appropriately now and then, even though it's not native to the American Midwest. :p)
Jack, your photos are amazing today; the background of trees and lake in the sodbuster pic and the light, trees, and shadow in the 2nd pic are both outstanding, in my amateur opinion! Where was the sodbuster photo taken?

LOL! :D  Thanks GT, you're very kind. Both pics were taken very close to where I live, the Sodbuster was taken a couple of miles away near a local reservoir - Eccup - which I take pleasure mispronouncing as 'Eggcup'! ;) :D

More of this week's knives:

I have reason to believe that I may have had some responsibility for the change of name for that model - from the Golfer to the Compact - in the early 1990's ;)

Thanks for the back-story, the knife is a real work of art

Another wonderful Barlow :)

I have had these two with me on what has been a long tiring day...

But the sun is over the yardarm now ;)
