What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A couple of months ago my 4 year old told me she wanted to "find or make" me a pocket knife so I could "throw away my other one." I gave my wife my Sodbuster for my lil' lady to find and I got it back for Christmas... now, every time she sees it in my hand she totally lights up - it's definitely not my fanciest knife, but that lil' bit of sunshine sure makes me smile. EDC since Christmas, and I imagine for quite some time longer

Today I saw strange fruit hanging in the tree!

How do you like the handling of the Sportsmans knife? I had one in my hands one time, but the fact, that the bail is on the side of the main blade, stopped me from buying it.
Regards, Daniel

Overall I very much like it! Very smooth walk and talk.
Speaking of the bail, it weirded me out too but now I don't really care. Just different. The bail is a little loose fitted from other side, but it seems very solid so I don't see it coming out.

Great story and that knife is a classic!

I've been carrying my 77 Barlow a lot lately.

It's showing SSS. I love how the bone darkens slowly from use.

Back to work for me today...

@BigBiscuit - Bob it warms my heart to see you posting my friend!:D

Jack - Beautiful bone on that WJ

Today I'm totin the Buck Canoe which I just got.
Well made imo. Under $18. I'm not usually a canoe fan but took to this one as soon as I saw it.
Also took the MM too.
Thanks for looking.

Buck canoe #389 is a nice knife. found mine at the big retailer in every town. pretty good fit and finish on the level of the rough riders...but having the great buck lifetime warranty. GOOD pick up. And the Schrades not shabby either:thumbup:

Thanks Tom...now that some nice looking yellow linen micarta!

I like that one Gary. I have no experience with Don Morrow's work, but I've heard nothing but good. Especially his grinds and in particular his edge work being above par.

It's a nice one, Bob. Thanks. I have another of his that's a Wharncliffe Trapper, two blades in red jigged bone. It also has the file work. He learned the craft from Bill Ruple.

I have been pocketing the GEC 15 Farmboy since it came just before Christmas. What a perfect set of blades!

...

I agree, I've always like the 2 full blades on the 15 pattern, the blades don't seem to get in the way of each other which is a major plus.

Great looking copperhead Ron, I see it's earning it's stripes :D

What with Christmas, family get-togethers, church services, some kind of sneezing+runny nose bug, and weekend chores that I didn't finish until this morning, I haven't posted here for several days. Lots of wonderful knives everyone has been posting in the meantime!!:thumbup: A few subjective highlights that grabbed me:

That's a very compelling knife, Tim!

I haven't even switched to my knives for this week yet! :( Here are photos of the knives I used in the kitchen for the past week.
A Rough Rider Fish knife and a horn Joker from Zaragoza, Spain:

Hope you've had a great holiday GT, I never tire of seeing that Joker with that bone.

I've started rotating my collection with my Pop so this one was with me today. Finally some snow in good ol' Massachusetts.
