What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ron - fantastic redbone!

I am ending the year with the John Primble ISW Black Stag Crown Jack and the Keen Kutter EO Jack that led the more sheltered life:

Primble - Thanks buddy! :) Wishing you a Happy New Year with those 2 gems. :D

Ron, that has got to be one of the nicest beaters that I've ever seen!

Thanks! ;):eek::D

Very nice Rachel. I too received a red gift this week. Mine is from an anonymous member.
Happy New Year to you as well.

Bob - Nice Northfield there my brother!:thumbup: Happy New Year! :D:D

Getting my tools and crampons sharpened for Saturday ice climbing, trying for a WI6, difficult climb. Hopefully it can warm to a balmy 20F, the ice is a totally different animal if it stays at a 0 degree high. This wharncliffe trapper built by Mike Zscherny is in my pocket, amber stag and Doug Ponzio 'Turkish Lace" damascus

Hope everyone has a fun and safe night. I'll be carrying my Oeser Moose to end 2015 on a high note!

I never get tired of seeing this knife! It's just gorgeous. Two great blades, too.

I'm toting my Case/Bose Coffin Jack, which hasn't left my pocket since it arrived. I'm also putting my newly oiled and cleaned Buck 112 Ranger in its new home in my truck today, so I'll count that as a "tote." :D

Happy new year, everyone! :)

Thanks CC, gorgeous Tuna Valley! You are NOT helping me resist the urge to pull the trigger on one ;)

Thank you. Resistance is futile :)

Lunch break again.

Very nice White Owl!

...
That sowbelly is divine, Mike!
...
Mike, you must be just jubilant over your recent acquisitions! That's a kickin' railsplitter!
...

Among the knives I'm carrying this week are:
an Imperial Ireland stockman,

both a Rough Rider medium trapper and a RR full-size trapper (don't ask me why they're in the same week),

oIiJ8CHl.jpg

and a Rough Rider "work knife" (RR version of Sodbuster Jr).

Thanks GT. Nice carries this week. Those Rough Riders look neat. I'm still awaiting my first (an improved muskrat), which should be arriving next week.

Giving an outing to the Drop-point Stag 25 at the bottom today. Lucky enough to win this last year in a GAW, much cherished but now used:thumbup:

Very nice. I like the close profile when closed on that drop point.

As always, you pick amazing knives for each day :)

Bringin' in the New Year with this one...

I'm going to follow you, and carry the same today :)

Very nice knife! Have fun climbing tomorrow. Hopefully the weather goes your way.

Happy new year, everyone! :)

Love that Coffin Jack, and nice find on the 112!

Jack Thanks for your appreciation as always.
Ron That's a sordid beater you have there, how dare you show it here Sir??!!:eek::confused::D:thumbup:
Primble Thank you, at least some people know decent stag when they see it. Ron's all mixed up with his 'quite nice' remarks... I do believe it's because he's lost all perspective after refusing to hand in his Smooth Bone knives to my Knife Sanatorium for treatment and then showing off that filthy old Whittler:rolleyes::D
Mike That's why I favour the Drop-point version most, wish there were more 25s with such a blade:thumbup:

Got to say that IF I had to choose a Knife of the Year from this Thread (an impossible task you bray!) I'd opt for Primble's Crown Jack in Black Stag. It lacks nothing, superb beast.

All the Best for the Coming Year to all of you, Will

Will - My apologies to you sir for my offenses ;):eek::eek::D

Wishing you All the Best for the Coming Year my friend, including good health, Knarly Stag and Smooth Ivory Bone in abundance!:D:eek::D

Ron Very kind, may your hopes come true and your fears be unfounded:thumbup:

Nearly midnight here, that's it for 2015:cool:

Thanks, Will

Did a little grouse hunting today. Had some flushes, had some misses, but had lots of fun.

Got it in today and pretty much immediately cut myself by having the knife open and walking into the screen door behind my apartment's windoor to take this picture. Turns out the dog has some bite yet...

Lots of beautiful knives here at year's end. I got this in today and immediately put it in a pocket.

Thanks GT, I am lucky in that I live on high enough ground to where the flood waters really can't get to me and mine. Nice RR's and pics! I have not tried that brand yet, but you have me sorely tempted :).
...
Good to hear that you've got some high ground, Tom; December floods on the Mississippi don't seem "natural".
Thanks for the kind words about my photos. Knowing you're a "good scout", does this Rough Rider tempt you at all? ;)

This one is joining my fixed blade today
Ernie, you're closing out the year with some fine oldies!

Pocketing these two today. Hope everyone has a very happy New Year's Eve

...
Gary - I hope you had a great holiday and get to feeling better soon! :) Thank you for the compliments my friend. :) Nice RR's this week!:thumbup:
...
I wish for you all to have a "Happy New Year" :) I pulled this old Case 6380 beater out of the roll to spend some quality time with Pam and I today! ;):eek::eek::D

Thanks, Jack and Ron, I'm fit as a fiddle now (although the fiddle is probably a little out of tune by now :p).
Jack, that's an exquisite pair with which to end the year!
Ron, you're a role model in the way that you'll get one more day out of that old "beater" before tossing it out with your 2015 calendar!:D

I have switched out yesterdays spear point Little Jack for the Easy open version to carry in my coin pocket, while the mighty #38 Grinling Whittler rides in my indoor fleece jacket pocket.
OG5leWb.jpg
OMR, that EO sheepsfoot 25 is incredibly attractive, and the Whittler is remarkable!

I've been carrying my Christmas Eve Gift for a week, now.

Happy New Year to all!
That Ed J has good taste, doesn't he? Does the White Owl cut as well as it looks, Rachel?

Going with my Case Seahorse Whittler today.

The shield on your magnificent Seahorse Whittler is intriguing, Ken!

Very nice Rachel. I too received a red gift this week. Mine is from an anonymous member.
Happy New Year to you as well.

...
Congrats, Bob; that looks like a fabulous knife! Wishing you a miraculous and prosperous 2016!

That's nice Charlie Mike, but I don't see how that will prevent the pants from coming off. ;):D
:D:D My dear departed mom would have said something like, "Bob, you're an absolute caution!!"
