I am ending the year with the John Primble ISW Black Stag Crown Jack and the Keen Kutter EO Jack that led the more sheltered life:

Ron, that has got to be one of the nicest beaters that I've ever seen!
Thanks CC, gorgeous Tuna Valley! You are NOT helping me resist the urge to pull the trigger on one![]()
Lunch break again.

That sowbelly is divine, Mike!
...
Mike, you must be just jubilant over your recent acquisitions! That's a kickin' railsplitter!

Among the knives I'm carrying this week are:
an Imperial Ireland stockman,

both a Rough Rider medium trapper and a RR full-size trapper (don't ask me why they're in the same week),

and a Rough Rider "work knife" (RR version of Sodbuster Jr).

Giving an outing to the Drop-point Stag 25 at the bottom today. Lucky enough to win this last year in a GAW, much cherished but now used:thumbup:

Bringin' in the New Year with this one...

Getting my tools and crampons sharpened for Saturday ice climbing, trying for a WI6, difficult climb. Hopefully it can warm to a balmy 20F, the ice is a totally different animal if it stays at a 0 degree high. This wharncliffe trapper built by Mike Zscherny is in my pocket, amber stag and Doug Ponzio 'Turkish Lace" damascus
A couple hundred miles walked in these boots,

I'm toting my Case/Bose Coffin Jack, which hasn't left my pocket since it arrived. I'm also putting my newly oiled and cleaned Buck 112 Ranger in its new home in my truck today, so I'll count that as a "tote."

Happy new year, everyone!![]()

Ron That's a sordid beater you have there, how dare you show it here Sir??!!
Primble Thank you, at least some people know decent stag when they see it. Ron's all mixed up with his 'quite nice' remarks... I do believe it's because he's lost all perspective after refusing to hand in his Smooth Bone knives to my Knife Sanatorium for treatment and then showing off that filthy old Whittler
Got to say that IF I had to choose a Knife of the Year from this Thread (an impossible task you bray!) I'd opt for Primble's Crown Jack in Black Stag. It lacks nothing, superb beast.
All the Best for the Coming Year to all of you, Will
Good to hear that you've got some high ground, Tom; December floods on the Mississippi don't seem "natural".Thanks GT, I am lucky in that I live on high enough ground to where the flood waters really can't get to me and mine. Nice RR's and pics! I have not tried that brand yet, but you have me sorely tempted.
...
Ernie, you're closing out the year with some fine oldies!
Will, the stag on that pair is stupendous!!...

Thanks, Jack and Ron, I'm fit as a fiddle now (although the fiddle is probably a little out of tune by now...

Nice RR's this week! :thumbup::thumbup:

I wish for you all to have a "Happy New Year"I pulled this old Case 6380 beater out of the roll to spend some quality time with Pam and I today!

OMR, that EO sheepsfoot 25 is incredibly attractive, and the Whittler is remarkable! :thumbup:I have switched out yesterdays spear point Little Jack for the Easy open version to carry in my coin pocket, while the mighty #38 Grinling Whittler rides in my indoor fleece jacket pocket.

That Ed J has good taste, doesn't he? Does the White Owl cut as well as it looks, Rachel?
Beautiful pair to ring out 2015, Primble; the stag on your Crown Jack is voluptuous!...
