I meant to carry this lovely thing today but accidentally left it in my car when I got to work. I think I'll grab it again tomorrow to make up for it.

First day on BF, first pic: Just a soddie... but can you really say "just" a soddie? (c.2013, I brought an apple to work every day for 4 months after buying this one and cut it up)

First thank you everyone for the condolences comments.. but guess what.. those of you that said to check lost and found were on the money.. just in case I did and someone turned it in!!!! Unbelievable, I wish I knew who it was so I could buy them 5 dinners! Here is my recovered Fremont along with its new big brother. :)

Welcome, White Crown. An apple a day..........makes a nice patina. :D

Whoo hoo! Kinda restores your faith, doesn't it?

DREW!!!! Happy happy for you my friend, that's so neat that someone returned it:thumbup::cool: have a great year buddy;)

JOLLYTIME, That's a wonderful knife...love everything about it:thumbup:

Had to post this for Tim whom I was able to purchase the rope knife from.

Cranberry cousins!

They definitely go hand in hand Jeff :)

Three distinct blade shapes, everything I needed yea unto the day*:

IMG_9734%201.jpg~original

GEC #25 Sheepsfoot Jack, #38 Farmer's Jack

* Any one of the three blades was more than enough for what I actually needed to accomplish with an edged/sharp tool today, but hey-- I was ready.

~ P.

2 is 1 and 1 is none P, I really enjoy the bar shield on that orchard gem, fits nicely with those fluted bolsters. One of GEC's finest ever made in my opinion.

Fine looking S&M Tim. :thumbup::)

Thank you Primble As always, your photos never disappoint. Catalogue quality

I agree with Rachel Drew, restores my faith at least. Glad to see it back to your hand :)

Thank you all! It does restore faith, even for a non knife nut it would have seemed like a neat thing to keep. I am very thankful. Happy 2016 my friends

:) It sure does. And I always get a kick out of it when someone sees me doing it and says,"Eww that knife is dirty as ****!" to which I reply with a wide grin and "you wanna piece?" Then I get to explain patina and carbon content to them. They usually just end up thinking I'm odd. Mission accomplished.

With me my entire Asia trip this month. Been cutting lots of fresh Thai fruit this last week with a few morning sun rises... ;)
Wishing the best to all fellow porch members. :D:thumbup:

Classic!

Terrific Trio Jack! Hope you are staying safe and dry.

Thanks Tom, safe, but just had another soaking I'm afraid!

Incredible news! It's pretty great when people do the right thing.

This one riding shotgun for a few days. You can't see the bolster, but it's lucky #13 of 50.

Wow Ernie!!!!! Security would probably let you right in to see His Majesty if they knew that was in your pocket!! Winner!!

Vintage Joseph Rodgers and sons whittler knife on me today! It's amazing- over 100 years old and the finish and action is just as good as any modern knife I own!

CAUTION: Moose At Work!! Great to see pics of this one again!

Short and Stout just seemed to go together.

:D:D Charming 25, OMR.

Ahoy! It'd be a fine day to be sailing the cubicle sea! A warm HVAC breeze in our sails, and the fluorescent sun beatin' down on the deck!

That knife looks ship-shape, sailor! Keep an eye peeled for Jolly Roger; there are pirates out on the cubicle sea, I'll wager!

Courtesy of $1 Big Lots mustard.

Startling patina!! Will you share details on your methods? (How did you apply the mustard, how long did you leave it on the blade, etc.)

GT (5K Qs) would call this my "Detroit Tigers" duo ;).

I'd think that combo looks fantastic even if I were wearing my Cubs hat, Tom!

Kings' day today! Everybody gets a part of the galettte. A good opportunity to have some champagne with friends.

The paper crown is for the lucky one who (breaks a tooth on) finds the charm that's inside. (this is last year's charm)
...
Very interesting, Jolipapa. I learned about this Kings' Day tradition while visiting my daughter in Spain a year ago (HUGE parade in Valencia on Kings' Day Eve ), but didn't realize it was a French tradition too.

My goodness, that's a sublime knife with exquisite stag!!

Boker Tree Brand Beer Barrel Whittler

-Brett
Those Beer Barrel Bokers certainly are appealing! How do you like the feel of the "recycled wood", Brett?

Lazy day with 897UH...
There are so many features I like in that Uncle Henry stockman! Very nice, Steve.

So many nice knives!!

I went with an Eric's Jack and a Vic Soldier today.

Ken K.
Ken, that's deluxe stag on your Eric's Jack!

...
Thank you GT, the wait was well worth it~
Even twist offs need some caplifter loving :D
Nice carries
...
This one done by Bob for the day

Thanks, Tim. I sometimes have difficulty following instructions.
Your knife is a stunner!

I have caught the bug for French regional knives from Stefan. Recently got the Chambriard Thiers Compagnon and the quality is just outstanding.

lethiers.jpg
Brilliant and tasteful!

I've had this chestnut CV sowbelly for a little over a year now. Just started carrying it every day for the last month or so.
That's a sensational sowbelly, sir!

...Thanks a lot GT, the Higo is an Ohta I received as a Christmas gift. The Sowbelly IS rather festive-looking! :D That's a great-looking Canoe my friend
...
I was greedy today, with 3 new-to-me knives :)

Thanks for the canoe compliment, Jack; that may be my favorite knife that has no sentimental connections. And your new 3-blade canoe is choice. Tremendous trio, in fact. (If carrying 3 knives makes you greedy, I must be quadragreedy!:rolleyes:)

Got this Bulldog Brand Knife Company Stockman in the mail today.
Hand made in 2004 at the Friedrich Olbertz Factory in Solingen West Germany.
Hammer Forged Steel. Genuine Mother of Pearl handle. Into the pocket it goes.

"btmccutcheon's" signature line says it best ...
Few friends better than a good dog and a good knife. ... I'm a lucky fella :)

That's a lavish pearl stockman, Jim, and congrats on Mason's successes!

Beautiful knives by everyone today  I have been totin my #72 Cody Jack on this long day. :D

How can such a simple knife be so stunning?? Phenomenal jack, Ron!

This cold rainy night in....Texas
Needed some chili to warm it up

Interesting photo, Gev! Being naive in the ways of Texas cuisine, I thought for an instant that you had a plateful of dark-toasted, luscious stag chunks (which makes no sense at all, but my mind seems unconcerned over minor details like rationality).

Congrats on your new Boker and Bible, Ben!

That's an astounding end to your Fremont saga, Drew!!:D:thumbup:

Took this in a trade I couldn't turn down

That's a VERY interesting knife! Can you tell us any more about it, JOLLYTIME?
