Cute hatchet Jerry

Those are absolutely beautiful Ted

Cool pic

Thank you Mr. Jack. Many of the Primble Belknap Hardware knives that I have were made by Boker and are high quality, IMO. :)

I didn't know that, excellent :) Hope you enjoy the film, I'm hoping to get along to see it next week. That is a great choice for the occasion

Thanks Primble and Ken.
Ken, that is some of the finest stag I have seen on a forum knife yet!
Gary, another fine example of th '15 forum knife!

It is raining again and I am going to Lexington to see "The Revenant" this afternoon. Thought I would pick something to carry that is appropriate for the time period:

 That is a museum-quality piece, made even more impressive and notable as a knife made in the USA on the centennial by a company that was truly cross-Atlantic in its heritage. For anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to read Primble's excellent aggregation detailing the maker's history, you can read it here.

I'll second that! As a Barlow fan first and foremost I think I may have just seen a glimpse of Heaven. :D

That is some really nice bone!

A beautiful knife, and a generous gift

Congrats on that glowing appaloosa Case, Dean! Kudos to Paul H for another of his thoughtful gifts!

Thank you, Gentlemen. I do so appreciate this gift.

Im carrying this "beater" on this lazy rainy Friday.

The only things on the agenda today are music, Bladeforums and some much needed rest and relaxation.
I couldn't ask for a better day.

What a great beater! Bladeforums, rest and relaxation; a good day indeed.

Dean's wonderful new Appaloosa Barlow inspired today's carry, skewed towards a more sedate environment.

Smooth bone mini-trapper, Appaloosa Barlow, Appaloosa medium toothpick

Another great Appaloosa Barlow!

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon, Rob. A fantastic Barlow; I particularly like the bolster, the bone and the blade.:) 140 years old and it looks great! Interesting bolster, too.

I was out and about with the Presidential today.

Had to change things up this afternoon after hitting the mailbox. I had posted a 'looking for' in my signature line for one of my personal traditional grails. Over the holidays, I received two PM's from Jake (Jsega51) and Rick (Railsplitter) letting me know one was on the exchange - Thanks for email notifications :)

Thanks to their sharp eyes, and quick messages, I was able to get it, and it arrived today! It's just what I was hoping for, and it's now in the pocket for a bit! Thanks again Jake and Rick.

Glad it arrived Mike!! Do you have a pic looking straight down to see the blades tucked together??

Thanks, Ron. What's the meaning of the highlighted statement? You're just full of intrigue! Is that a Hayin' Helper? VERY appealing knife!

- GT

Gary - Yes, this is a #47 Hayn' Helper. This is a 2012 model with O1 blade steel. It is a terrific EDC knife, being light and very versatile. In reference to the highlighted statement, take a gander at the production schedule on the web site from this knifes manufacturer.:D

I have never seen this pattern and I love it. Its like a #71 sodbuster with a sheepsfoot. Thank you for sharing....now I'll go hunting.

rishma - Thanks, check out my response to GT above.

Northwoods Everyday Barlow for me today...

Erik - That's a terrific photo of your Northwoods Barlow.:)

Thank you gentlemen - it felt warm in my pocket. The movie was set in the cold 1800's wilderness winter. A very nicely filmed movie on a wet rainy January day here. ;):)

Dean - the Prez is still looking' fine !:)

Ron - Beautiful Viper and looking forward to your one yet to come.:)

Fantastic Ted, That bare end!! Yikes!!
Wanna know why the old knives are better? At about a hundred years a piece this was doin' it old school and that's why after all that time these two are as good as the day they were new. So today I'm goin' old school and carryin' both. :)

Top left 1920s Graef & Schmidt Jack Knife in smooth bone covers, bottom right 1911-1913 Union Knifeworks NYC very rare as the company only existed for two years but in that two years they made a premium knife to rival the best out there.
