This was my great-Grandfather's Case Trapper. I somehow inherited his bedside table box and found it in there. My Great-Grandfather was a working cattle rancher and one of the last true cowboys. For me this is a real treasure.

That's real nice. , I too have my grandfather and his fathers knives. Grandpas is the Schrade uncle henry, although not real old. It's stainless but has cleaned more rabbits than j could ever count. Old pawpaws was the tiny kabar. It was his teeth. He would use it to cut up his meals very small and gum it down. Today, I carry grandpas (even though I have two new knives, just felt this today). I don't carry old paw paws.

Great choices again everyone.

Thanks for the comment on the Case Trapper Will. It's a great knife.

Carrying a Vic Popular and a Richards today. The Richards belonged to my uncle and was gifted to me by my aunt after he passed away. It means a lot to me.

Both knives are smashing but the 25 is just looking extra nice!

Thanks Gev, I'm very pleased with it :)

Very nice Ken :)

Looking good

I've owned this for 30+ years and I've carried it maybe half a dozen times, it's a nice pattern I'm gonna give it another chance.

Thanks Jack and TsarBomba for your kind comments.

Carried only one today.

That pretty slimline is kin to a mini trapper I recently started carrying, Ken, and you are very welcome!

Fantastic patina on that Imperial Barlow, really dresses it up! :D

Glad to see that Camillus getting out in the world, Jeff!

Case Half Whittler

That red bone is outstanding, Mike!:thumbup:

Going for my Chamblin Whittler today, one of my favorite patterns!

The embodiment of Smooth, Ernie. :)

Northwoods EDB

The more I see that deep, rich blue, the more I want one. :D

As it should be! That is a historical trapper in that super sharp Case red bone and I'll bet your great grandfather would be proud that you are carrying it.

I grow more and more fond of the humble canoe each time I see these outstanding examples. Great knife!

Today's traditionals, a pair of brassy German gentlemen:

I reached into my pocket to grab my 77 Barlow to find that it has developed a nice crack around the bottom pin. I was horrified. I just hope that it doesn't expand, because I've loved watching the ivory bone age. I would hate to have to have it rehandled and lose all that character.

Not good at all - although good to know GEC would make it right.

Love the look of that old Case knife. I like my (fairly new) Case Canoe in Amber Bone, but it doesn't compare to that.

That is a very pretty folder. What is it?

A Jerry Halfrich Tony Bose 3.5" style trapper clip point in inner-cut elephant ivory :)

Hm..that's a real shame bud, perhaps a quick and dirty fix would be epoxy and then a buffing?
