Henkle & Joyce Hardware today.

A lovely old treasure

A beautiful Charlow with a fantastic worm groove  but those rope knives keep making me want to buy things I can't afford right now :grumpy: Great selection, Jack! :D

...

Thank you my friend, two smashing knives, but the Barlow is outstanding IMO

You have more guts than I do. I think I might be too paranoid carrying that beauty in case the scales decide to loosen up. Still a looker, and a fine piece!

Thank you for the compliment! It was stabilized during the restoration and it is quite solid now. It's one that has grabbed my heart the moment I laid hands on it and earned it's right to be carried and used:D

I have never seen a Cutsure barlow before and that one is outstanding!!! Thanks for the look:D

Still in Halfstop mode today. I have had these two for a long while. A 1965-1969 Stag Canoe, model 52131 and a 1976 Stag Cheetah, model 5111 1/2SSP. Both are near mint.:

and then an old Catt showed up in the mail this morning, so after a little blade sharpening, I slipped it in my coat pocket.

Clearly I don't know how to attach a photo properly...seems to work sometimes...seems to not work sometimes...

Do you use a photo hosting site? I'm always at a computer so I save my photos onto tumblr as drafts and copy the image URL to post into the photo url attatchment option.
If you're on a mobile..then I'm not much help.

This one is becoming a bit of a habit.....5 days running. Please excuse the basset ear!

Peter

Haha such fluff to accompany your 76 Peter, great shot.

Thanks a lot Tim, yes, I certainly did, I was worn out when I came out of the cinema! :D

Nice set-up, and that's some interesting leather-work you have there
Slipping these two in my pocket today

Beautiful 15's Jack, aha that wallet was bought because I lost my ID once already while on my motorcycle. (I store it on my tank bag and I guess while filling up some petrol/gas..it fell out. Needed a snap securement. The slip and wallet are both made out of Horween leather, my favourite for leather goods.

The elephant ivory handled custom is so fine !:)

Thanks Primble, I've earlier pieces from several makers and each one stuns me with how solid their work was from the beginning.
That cheetah is really nice and the Catt tops it off.

99 Wall Street for today.

I'm showing the pile side in mourning at the loss of shields from GEC's Stag range.:( It's all piles now...

Thanks Tim. I'm trying to do it from my phone. Probably about time to get on a photo sharing site...

It's a good weekend for a scout:

For my smaller selection, this old Case. I've used brand new X-acto knives that didn't come as thin and sharp as these blades. About 80 years old, solid snap, no wobble. We should all be so lucky. :D
Nice ones, Rachel, and I see in a later post that you're carrying them all week - great way to build relationships with your knives.
An EO two-blade sheepsfoot Scout (in ebony, no less?) always stops me in my tracks, and your old Case is very impressive! Does the Case have "cutouts" in the covers to facilitate access to the blades, or is that just worn down that way from use?

Schrade Cut. Co. (circa 1917-1946) Model 2093 Jack Knife, steel bolsters, steel lined, 3 & 5/8ths inches closed:

Finished digging out this morning :D

That Schrade makes me shiver (in a good way ;)).
The snow pictures produce less desirable shivers! Is the Hill still Pleasant with all the snow?
I thought you might be a year-round outdoor photographer, but have you had to move your knife photos inside temporarily? Seems to not have affected the superior quality of your pics at all!

Queen #64 Canoe
Sharp fans 2008 club knife number 348. The first time its ever been in my pocket since I ordered it.

I decided to add a Canoe too, seemed appropriate! ;) :D

Not quite sure how it happened, but I've developed a real affinity for almost any canoe pattern! But Mike, calemerson, Jack, and Primble, your canoes are definitely NOT just any canoe patterns!! Choice canoes, each and every one!:thumbup:

With all the snow I figured I'd bring something that'll stand out if I drop it in the white stuff. 70s Precise Deerslayer Classic Lockback, kinda reminds me of a Japanese version of a Sodbuster. :)

...
How large is that knife, Ted? Is that rubber band ball the innards of a golf ball, or a baseball, or what?

This Case Sowbelly in CV and chestnut bone.

Today it's been a Case Medium stockman. 3 5/8" closed with clip, pen, and Sheepsfoot blades in CV and chestnut bone...

Frank, I really admire your chestnut bone CV Cases!:cool:

Been a long time since I carried this TC.

Another fantastic pair of knives, Tom, and I think at least the third different sheath I've seen this week!
Enzo Necker and a beer scout today. The necker is really growing on me, nice full flat ground little blade.

Make it four sheaths! :D Love the black and white combo!

Thank you Mark, it is a true pleasure to carry.

Today on top of my brand new Col. Littleton No1 Grip.

Congrats on your lovely new acquisitions, Drew!

Inspired by Mr. Halfstop, I will be carrying some old friends today.

I apologize if I have been repetitive this week. ;) But one more time with this 1974 Red Bone 06247 Pen, I just got this week.:D

Primble and Ron, that's ravishing red bone you're displaying, whether peanut or pen!!:thumbup:

I found this in my sock drawer yesterday.
TtDDlZiO
Congrats on your discovery! (Of course, you realize that I immediately headed for my sock drawer to conduct a search, but came up empty.)

...
I've got the S&M Spear Point in ebony with me today:

...
Wow, Derek, that dazzling spear point S & M grabbed me by the throat and shook me! Striking knife!

...My load out for the day. The 7 days a week Opinel + some elephant ivory

tumblr_o1h3zkn9eb1rzq6m9o1_1280.jpg
Tim, you've shared some outstanding customs with us, and that ivory is another heart-stopper! But I think what I admire most about you and your knives is your day-to-day loyalty to your Opinel!:thumbup:

Today:

#83 Tascosa clip point in Purple Sage

For anyone interested, I just wrote up an overview of my Gerstner International boxes here.

~ P.
And a fine, informative overview it is! I highly recommend it and give it 2 thumbs up!:thumbup:

...Slipping these two in my pocket today

Both beauties, Jack!

Stay warm fellas. Moose is on duty today
So all is right with the world, in my opinion! :D Great shot, Shane!

Ice has cleared enough to get to work today. Ram's horn Cuban stockman for me.

Radical ram's horn, Jeff!

...
I've got a dark red/maroon theme going today, TC Stew's blade & Northwoods Presidential (EDC).
...
You've been posting some gorgeous Charlows lately, Dean, but that Presidential is so majestic!

...
I am cropping a slightly-older photo of today's carry, since the sun is playing hide-and-seek and it's been an awfully busy Monday. My recently-acquired Cutsure Barlow is riding with Mac (again). One day I'm going to remember to take some pictures of my trusty but not-too-photogenic SAK instead of leaving it in the sheath like a second-class citizen. :D

That Cutsure is hard to take my eyes off, TB!!

Knives for this week include, among others, these three:
a Vic Tinker

a RR gunstock checked canoe (thanks, Will)

BEAUTIFUL shot of a great knife Tim! I am partial to the #85....can't wait for the SFO soon to appear.

Peter

GT, it's a handful, comparable to a large sodbuster. The rubberband ball is baseball size, took a year to make it from spare rubberbands at work a while back, I wanted to shoot it with a .22 magnum hollow point. ;)

You have more guts than I do. I think I might be too paranoid carrying that beauty in case the scales decide to loosen up. Still a looker, and a fine piece!

Yeah, Gevonovich has guts! He stares down bobcats! :D

Glad to see that ol' reliable half-congress is getting even more mileage. I have an old KK with similar levels of blade "wear" that I am going to try and work into my carry this week.

Nice ones, Rachel, and I see in a later post that you're carrying them all week - great way to build relationships with your knives.

Nice Mighty Mite there, and it looks like you have a picture of a sweet mighty mite next to it. :)

If I had to pick my favorite traditional pattern, it would be the Bareheaded Jack. Something about it just says good old-fashioned pocketknife, yet there are so many variations of handle and blade shapes.

I believe that the previous owner of that congress filed down the kicks on the blades to keep the tips below the frame of the knife after years of sharpening. Eventually he had to grind or file out some cutout reliefs to access the blades. I suppose if you buy a knife during the Great Depression, you don't just throw it out and get a new one if it can still be made usable. :D /That's part of what I find so appealing about carrying it.

Nice new kitty, Primble, love the long pull secondary and the gorgeous wormgroove bone.

And Jeff, great character on your ram's horn!

Rob, I love the knives you post but Man o Man that Catt is drop dead gorgeous, I love the worm groove and long pulls;)
