What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Haha make it whatever day you'd like Tim. I was gonna go with Wooley Mammoth Wednesday but didn't carry it. Send me that Dowell for closer inspection, the zoom on my phone isn't working LOL

Primble - Nice ones again today my friend! I do admit that 6308 is special!!!:D And so is that Steingass!
Since today is Wooden Wednesday I have a 1973 and a 1975 Case handled in Pakkawood. ;) Care to guess which one was in the pocket!:D

I am guessing the Sodbuster was in yer pocket, but, I am certain it won't be come next Tuesday ! That Buffalo ain't no little knife - you would have been walking with a limp by lunch time ! ;):D:D:D

Wharncliffe Wednesday..forgot it was Wooden Wednesday.

Wharncliffe Wednesday, Whittler Wednesday, Wooden Wednesday - what does it matter !!?? That Dowell shines bright Tim !:D:D

This just arrived from Jeff Jprime.. sweet little Imperial that he improved, customized and gave a 2nd chance in life. Looking forward to your future projects Jeff!

Hm hard to say Ron..but both of those are some great looking Case knives. Buffalo horn looks great in the light.

Wharncliffe Wednesday..forgot it was Wooden Wednesday.

Tim - Thanks!:) Talking about great looking, that Dowell is a stunner my friend.:thumbup:

Primble - If I tried to carry that Buffalo in my pocket they would have started to call me Chester at work.:eek::eek::D What's going on next Tuesday?:confused::confused::eek::rolleyes:

Lost my voice today; better try to keep this relatively short! :D:D

Elegant electrician, FBC!

...
Gary - Thank you my friend! Your RR Sowbelly is also a terrific looking knife!
...
Thanks, Ron. :) I've got an even better sowbelly!! ;) I hope I have the self-discipline to make it wait its turn, instead of carrying it every day. :o

...You always seem to carry the best linesman knives (though I think someone's got you beat today :p). It's more prudent to carry my big SAK sheathed than a nice sleek TL-29 in my Camillus pouch, or on my hip, but I always like using the Camillus more. Why can't everything be a wire to strip or a big flathead screw to drive? :D
...
Thanks, Tsar. :) I never go looking for those knives, but somehow I've managed to acquire 4 or 5 so far, and I do like carrying them! :D

Thanks a lot GT. I have a Boker Electrician, but mine is battered! :D I love the simplicity and great lines of those MAM knives, but the liner-locks probably mean I wouldn't carry one much here
...
Jack, many (most?) of the MAM models are available with or without the liner lock. The one I posted has no liner lock, but I have a larger drop point model with liner lock. Is a locking blade illegal in Yorkshire?

Oops! Forgot to post today's carry! :D

Is that the same model S&M that link2derek posted earlier this week? I don't remember ever noticing that knife before, but now twice in one week that spearpoint blade has completely mesmerized me!:thumbup::eek: How does this stuff happen? Where's the logic?:confused:

...
Somehow these found a way in my pockets today. ;):D

Primble, I feel bad for your other red bones that aren't your favorite.:( Why don't you send one of your "red bone rejects" my way and I'll give it the love you can't seem to provide! :D:D

A pairing I enjoy and have not carried in awhile

A svelte Empire electrician and the sumptuous Richmond Cutlery Co whittler

Those are a couple of good old knives, Gev.:cool: I always enjoy the "black and white" pairings that appear so often.

Excuse the dirty blade, I really need to clean this

Speaking of "black & white" pairings, Tom, you have the luxury of doing that pairing TWO ways, right? Today you've got the black-hafted City Knife and light-colored Beer Scout, but you also have a white City Knife and black Beer Scout IIRC!:cool:

Thanks, Gary. I have an electrician on my get-one-someday list. I find them to be a simple but interesting design. I've never seen a Boker one before, nice.
...I decided to go yellow today. I know its wooden Wednesday, but this one called and I answered.

Thanks, Dean; that Boker was a gift from Markesharp; it's a beast! :)
You should warn us when that yellow TC is coming! It almost put my eye out with its brilliance!!

...Day #2 for the 11031SH; since I received it I've been fascinated with it. It's a hard knife to put down! It's slender but feels good in the hand, that big sheepsfoot is a wonder cut-all blade, and you can't help but feel classy taking it out to use. Unfortunately, I've also been clumsy with it -- put a bit of a ding on the end of a bolster running out the door trying to do too much at one time. Oh well, it was always meant to be a carry knife anyway, and it's still beautiful. :p ...

...
TB, those wood-handled Case sheepsfoot knives are so appealing - simple and all business!!:thumbup: (I should find me one of those, or maybe just a Klein Tools utility knife that's basically the same pattern.)

Harry
Killer stag, Harry!!:eek::thumbup: Will we see it again Saturday?? ;)

...
I'm over over to Sheffield early tomorrow, hopefully to see Stan Shaw. Thought I'd take these two with me

Have a great trip, Jack!

Is that the No.2 pattern Jack?

A small but really nice pattern you don't hear enough about. Once you get that D2 sharp, it's killer If you see what I mean....:D:D

Regards, Will

Yes, that's the #2 pattern. 3-1/4" of Queen goodness. The D2 tool steel handles very acute edges with aplomb. Thinner edges require less force when cutting, so the edge stays sharper, longer. The D2 carbides just eat fibrous materials like rope and cardboard. Here's a more complete shot. Photobucket won't let me rotate the pic, though.

I have been so busy with work and my wife being sick that I have not had time and energy to peruse this thread of late. So many great knives. It's nice to put my feet up and look around. The porch is always great for that.

Chris

What do you know Chris, I got my feet on the desk as well....oops, guess I shouldn't admit that while I'm at work haha

Thanks a lot Dan, good to have you back, and that must have been nice to come home to :) Great pic too

Thanks. Indeed it is. Nothing beats sleeping in ones own bed.

What a Wharnie! Love those scales, and that is a great photo! Did you discover the ice arranged that way near the foliage? These are the things that make me miss the northeast. :p

After a lot of deliberation, I finally settled on some 35-40+ year old wood for today's carry. I nearly went Barlow-less, but in the end what other pattern seems more like it was made for the watch pocket? :D

1980 Queen Rawhide series #8075, 1973 Case #6250, and 1972 Case #11031SH

Thanks TsarBomba. It's a all natural occurring ice to moss transition that I found nearby home.
Great lookin pair of Case's and Queen you have there.

I envy your meeting with the Master! Tell him hello for me.

Primble

Much appreciated compliment on the photo my friend! The ole Richmond is a bear trap as well:eek:

Ron
I have always admired the Buffalo and your is truly a fine example indeed!!! I have to agree with Primble ...it truly is not salubrious of one's back:eek:

Gary
Today's pair is just about perfection. The Jack Russell is one of my favorites of yours:D

Tim
The Dowell is a dream pieces and I really like your composition:thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you fine sir!! Great covey your carrying today:thumbup:

Hey GT - you are correct sir! I am fascinated with white handled knives lately, don't know why exactly . I am attending a knife show this weekend, hopefully there aren't too many nice white-handled traditionals there or I fear for my bank account ;).

Love the silver bullet, congrats!

GT - rejects !!!??:confused::confused:;):p That silver bullet is unique, as is the Marbles Lady knife.;):D

I reckon Jack is wandering down the streets of Sheffield this morning, trying to find Stan's place. ;):D:D:D
