What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful pair Rob.

Thank you Bob! :thumbup::)

Thank you, my friend. Here's another look from yesterday:

Nice knife and great pic of it !:thumbup::)

Wonderful knives and incredible photos Primble! We're having a warm day here also. I like to see a thaw now and then.

I'm carrying this little Swayback today. Old pic that's part of my "catalog my knives" project.

Thank you Gary. Warm weather does not look long lasting here. That Erickson is a dandy !:)

Rob - 2 niceuns there today :thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you Ron and nice red bone you are totin' today !:D

Pioneer and Peanut

Nice to see you posting Woodrow. That pair ought to cover all the bases.:)

I don't think of myself as a cat-fancier, but Primble, you may be changing my mind! ;) You post some killer Catts, for sure!

Thank you GT and nice stag on the Colt.:)

Thanks for the positive feedback, folks! The disc is about 2.5 mm thick, and I deepened the inset a good amount to get it in there, so it's kind of a tight pressure fit. I'll carry it like this for a while. (maybe the shield will fall out on one of my nice wood handled Bokers and I can switch them out. ;)

Looks like you've made up your mind, but just to add to the chorus, that ivory disc with the scrimshaw tree is absolutely perfect for that knife! And if you don't mind my saying so, I think it's a wonderfully feminine touch as well.

I still have to assign them their positions in the rotation schedule I slavishly follow.

5k, please share your rotation planning details. I just randomly grab one from the pile. But often find I neglect amazing knives.

Thanks Jim

The 73 degree day we had got my 17 year old son thinking about spring. He had 4 or 5 different turkey calls out driving his mother a bit mad. The boy has turkey fever bad, he stayed home and practiced turkey call while my wife and I went white bass fishing.

The fish didn't bite but the #47 rode along.

Chris

Thanks Bob, glad to see you feeling better. The sleeveboard pattern is 3 7/8 closed, it is a 2 spring whittler. Blades, springs and bolsters are made out of Mike Norris "Fire Clone" stainless damascus(19c27,302,D2). Mike's damascus is the choice for some of the finest folder makers in the world. The fit and finish, walk and talk and overall feel of this knife are among the best I have owned or handled. Here are a few not so great pics I just took, It is SO much better in hand.
...
I wish my camera could focus into the well, nicely polished frame and etched damascus springs and catch bit
...

I've always wondered what the internals of this one looked like. Thanks for those detailed photos Kris, Joel did a wonderful job.

Kris, all great knives. Hope the ice has been treating you well!

I won't post a pic of Lizard Skin today but it's been in my pocket for the last few days.

I would like to say that I find it satisfying to see knives that I've owned end up in some great people's hands. I'm glad to see you carrying and using them. Don't cut your fingers!!

Oooops....

Too late ;)

First day in several weeks with a knife in my pocket and it feels good to be back in the fold. :D

Is that a knife in your pocket or am I just happy to see you? Great to see you post friend. :)

I believe my carry for today would be in that category? ;):D

I think mine was in that category too ;) it's pure torture for our buddy Jake.

Silhouette for this Sunday. Guess the knife~

Thank you. :) I wasn't sure about it at first because my eye is so used to seeing metallic shields. Then I thought the ivory was too good for Delrin, and would look better on ebony scales. After carrying it all weekend, I'm going to stop overthinking it and keep it as is. I like it. :)

Glad to see you back up and around with a lovely jack in pocket, Bob!  :D

Case russlock

That's some lovely amber bone there, sir! Is the blade stainless? I was percolating a personal hypothesis that the jigged amber bone Cases with the script oval shields of that vintage were all CV, since this one amber jigged texas jack I have doesn't really fit as a "notable pair" with my 6375 because of the block print oval shield and the SS blades, but if yours is stainless then I may as well throw that one right out. It's a definite relative of my big stockman either way, great carry!

I looked at this thread early this morning and jumped on the 92 band wagon, plus one of my Catts thrown in for good measure:

I'm just about to give up looking for cherry Catts since you've got 'em all... :grumpy: :D

These three fine knives are with me today,
Pasi Hurttila damascus(15n20 & 80CRv2) puukko, Joel Chamblin whittler and a Texas Jack by Tony Bose

Amazing damascus on that whittler, and the puukko is an interesting blend too. A terrific trio even if the Bose only uses one steel in the blade. :p

Silhouette for this Sunday. Guess the knife~

That there is a classic Opinel, I wager. :D If I recall, you have carried a #7 in the past? Or is that the trusty #8, my favorite size? :p

Today was a lazy hazy crazy Sunday, spent indoors recuperating from the week and steeling myself for the one upcoming. My cutting chores were handled mostly by my carries, although Mac got in on the action during dinner.

Thanks Gary  Lovely Erickson, I hope your cataloging is going OK. I keep meaning to do the same, but am rather daunted by the task
