I did indeed thank you GT, in spite of some very cold and blustery weather. It was good to catch up with two of our AWOL members. The IXL Serpentine Jack was actually an Xmas gift from ADEE
Great carry choices there
Thanks, Jack.

Happy to hear you had a good visit.
...
Thank you GT - that serpentine jack and pocket watch have a lot of character !

...
Thanks, Primble.

I wish I knew more about both the jack and the watch, given their "family heirloom" status.
...That Imperial's probably got some tales to tell. When did you get it from your father-in-law? I really like that swayback RR, too, what's the story behind it? It's a pretty unique blend of styles. Do you have any of those Jokers in different steels, maybe something heavy in carbon perhaps?

Great trio!
Work has made doing not-work things difficult this week. ...
Yesterday, alongside Mac, the Anton Wingen Jr. bone Barlow.

TsarBomba, I actually got the Imperial from my wife 2 years ago, and it started me down this pocket knife hobby path. She got it from her father sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s, she thinks, after he decided to replace that knife with a new one for his daily carry. The Rough Rider is just a big (3 7/8 inches closed) sheepsfoot/pen jack; it's just like a hawkbill pruner RR offers, but with the hawkbill straightened out (hence the Halfhawk name). I do have a Spanish Joker in carbono, but it's quite a different style: 4" closed, olive wood covers, somewhat different blade shape. Here's a photo:
Hope you get an increase in discretionary time soon. That Barlow is splendid!

Hey, quick question. I have an Imperial just like that, and id like to know if the scales are just plastic? The color on mine is "Peeling" almost like snakeskin and i was just wondering what it was that would do that. Thanks in advance
AdamF, the covers are some kind of plastic (celluloid?) glued onto metal handles. I had that peeling problem too when I started carrying the knife everyday. I thought maybe the translucent flakes that peeled off might be some kind of "varnish" or "sealant" that had been applied to keep the color from wearing off, but that's just a guess on my part.
The Halfrich Small Rounder today and tomorrow.
That's a stellar, stunning, stylish knife, Gary!!:thumbup:

I have these two with me today

Preeminent pair, Jack; the Barlow photo is wonderful!

Totin' my John Primble ISW Jack today, complete with English steel.

...
Superlative knife, Primble! (The coins are also notable.)
These two are with me today: Ebony Presidential and Walnut TC Barlow.
Very attractive duo, Dean! (Is 2-knife carry a change for you?)
... The Joker looks very interesting
GT! ...
Today I'm going with a Case Seahorse Whittler and a Vic Classic.
Have a good one all!
Ken K.
Thanks, Ken.

That Seahorse is incredible!
Great pic of the Imperial
GT, and congrats on the new addition! Yes the Camillus is new (to me), the seller kind of threw it in with my new Winchester white scout. But I am very happy with it, and can report the caplifter had a heck of a workout last night and functioned flawlessly
City Knife and Beer Scout for me today.
Recycling an old comment: that's a pulchritudinous pair, Tom!!

W!! That's an eye-popper!

Today's Wooden Wednesday pocketeers, a Queen #20 in "green wood" and the venerable Case 11031 SH:
I tend to prefer two-blade knives, but the simple perfection of that pair is remarkable, TB!!!:thumbup:
