What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This one gets a lot of pocket time.

Once again, great knives all!

Thanks for the compliment GT. I do like SAK's and I'm pleased you like to see them. If your still looking for an Electrician Plus check out the SwissBianco store.

Terrific S&M Barlow Bob! Great 25's Travman and Jack!

With all the Barlow's being shown I been inspired to carry a GEC 25 along with a Case Half Whittler today.

We have a snowstorm rolling in so it looks like a snow blower day tomorrow.

Have a good one everyone.

Ken K.

I like the 56 Bareheads. GEC should do more of these and in single-blade form. This has the pin-work I favour, no sink holes...:D

Pretty busy weekend so I'm catching up as best I can.

Annoying, I was plagued by the same thing most of yesterday :grumpy: Nice line-up there TB
Edit - Oops! Forgot to include today's carry! :D Have a great weekend everyone

Thank you, sir! The database error only seems to happen if I wait til the end of the day to post, often after 12am local time. Perhaps there's some recurring local maintenance I keep running into. I reckon I'm going to have to get situated earlier than that from now on. :D

Liking that Wolstenholm jack!

I have these 2 along for the 1st part of my Saturday.:) Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Beautiful stag on that Humphreys!

Schrade barlow

Easily one of the nicest-looking composite Barlows. It rivals the anniversary Russell (which may be a Schrade anyway judging from the pictures I've seen). Does yours have a bear-like pull on the master too? My Schrades, even when newly oiled, all test the keratin in my fingernails when I go to open 'em. :o

My carry for Mardi Gras today.

Love the handles on that Queen, and with my recent newfound addiction to lanyard-making I'm all about knives with bails lately. :p

I have changed my carry for the rest of the evening.:)

I wonder which of those blades did most of the work... :D

TB, I tend to use a text editor to do some occasional back-ups of posts on which I'm working, just in case.
Man, that IXL Barlow and the TL-29 are choice chunks of cutlery!!:thumbup:
...
My kitchen knives this week (in addition to an Opinel #7 that's always available) were a 5" Marbles Leg knife and a MAM sheepsfoot friction folder.

Thanks, GT! I've started doing the same with the text editor for these longer posts. Too much writing to just have it wiped all away by internet poltergeists. :o

I ordered a MAM locking sheepsfoot because I really like the way yours looks and I wouldn't mind having more options for Wooden Wednesday. :)

I'm probably going to be in the house all day, but have these two in my pockets :) Have a great Sunday everyone

Those scratted ancient shivers... :p

Put this one I won in Bob's GAW in the pocket w/ the Opinel as soon as I received it from Mike/EyeDog. Great guy and equally great knife.
I was surprised that the wharncliffe on this blade was far less obtrusive in hand when the clip blade was open than some other wharncliffe/clip knives I've experienced.

Seems like they did a heck of a job making a full-size Wharnie a "secondary" blade. I really like that combination. Lucky lucky! :D Congrats!

Schrade 5OT and added the little guy too!

Nice pair of Schrades! This thread often reminds me that I need to get more of those classic Schrade patterns. It's too bad I haven't won the lottery yet... :o

GEC Tidioute #48 "Beaver Tail" Improved Trapper in jigged Brazilian Cherry wood

Gorgeous scales on that super trapper! GEC always comes correct with their woods.

Just in case something needs MacGyvering.

I am glad to see so many STR-EKs out as of late. Think I need to get my hands on a sheepsfoot version... :)

I may also take one of my older TL-29s and attempt filing sawteeth into the driver blade. The teeth won't be nearly as thick since the old TL-29 driver has its own primary grind tapering from top to bottom, but that might actually prove advantageous.

My pocket knife for the week. I had to make it match my attire, for at least today.

Classy and stylish look! Nice carry.

Carbon fiber and French ivory for me today.

Just when I thought the Barkies couldn't look any better than those micarta models, you go and prove me wrong. :D Great pair!

Church Carry-

That's a good-looking 494 you've got there!

I'm fiddling around with this old Western Stockman today while waiting for the football game. (sharpened the blades, fixed the tip of the awl) I believe it needs to be added in the week's rotation.

Awesome work on that punch, Rachel. You can't really tell it has "had work done". :p

I was trying to get my hands on a Camillus-branded stockman with Western-stamped blades this weekend but I couldn't take it home, sadly. Knowing the ignominious way in which Camillus dumped its stock before closing down, I figure there have to be a few more "Westmilluses" out there.

I took some of my knives out today for some photo time since the weather has lightened up a bit finally. So technically I toted all of these today ;)

Always love a modded Opi, but the trapper is a real gem (abalone?) and the SBJ has some of the nicest red bone I've seen on any Case from 1990 onwards. Also love that last picture, three beauties!

Is that teardrop a member of the Case "bonestag" 6.5 line? If so, I have one en route to pair with my 6.5285 -- my first teardrop jack. :D If it looks anywhere as good as yours then I am sure I will be pleased.

Loaded up my new weekly rotation today, rather than waiting until Monday morning like I usually do. (I think I may start making the switch on Sundays from now on; logistically, that works better for me.) Some of my companions this week include:
a Schrade-Wostenholm I*XL stag canoe (thanks for the GAW, cchu518)
a Holub electrician with hawkbill (thanks Dave)
and the first knife I bought on my visit to Spain, and carried for the rest of my stay there, a Taramundi

I love the obscenely-long bolster on the Taramundi, that's a unique-looking little European! That canoe is a treasure, too! Sheffield's finest, and I really like what they did with the stamps on the bolster.

It's been hard to keep this one out of my pocket.

Can't blame you at all, that's a fine custom! The coffin shape of the slip might be somewhat ominous, though.

Another week, another storm :grumpy: I've got these two with me today :)

A pair of gems there. The bone on that #25 looks like it'd make a great storm-time worry stone. :)

GEC and Schrade made Holub

The covers on that GEC are dazzling! I had no idea that was such a beast of a knife, either! Right up my alley. :D

That little Western, top, middle.

Just a peek at what looks like a great collection of Barlows, eh? I see that Ka-Bar copper pup sitting there off in the corner. And is that Boker a 492? It looks pristine! Best way to pique my interest is to post a mess of Barlows. :D

S&M Barlow

That classic Queen winterbottom is well-represented on that lovely Barlow, Bob! I think I may have to tote one of my winterbottom bone Queens this week in tribute. :)

This one gets a lot of pocket time.

I can see why! The lanyard looks like it grew there, too. I won't even give you any guff about the UF mouse pad it is resting on. ;) :D

This Camillus scout is growing on me, really stout with a lot of life left in it.

I've always liked that Camillus 4-blade. I have a Camco which is virtually identical sans shield, and my Camillus is a candidate for rehandling. I'm thinking natural stag...

Today is Granddaddy's Old Timer!

All these cool old Schrades popping up lately. Now that I've started trying to semi-organize my dailies I should be able to pick out a Schrade (or Schrade-made) stockman and toss it in the pocket to add to the fun. :)

Playing a little catchup, so here are the last few days of carries.

Lazy Saturday indoors:

Sunday, before/getting ready for/chopping up snacks during the game:

Today's "back to work" trio, which is basically yesterday's duo plus my entry for Connor's "this week's carry" challenge, the MOP Keen Kutter equal-end:

As always guys, not a bad pic in the bunch. Also not a knife I don't admire.

Jake, I hope to find a 2011 BF lifter one day, I'd be cool with a user. It looks like you've taken great care of yours.

Bob, glad your posting. I love the patina you've got on your 38 Grinling. I have the same knife, but for some reasonI'm afraid to use it. The action is so smooth and F & F great I don't want to gunk it up with apple juice. Glad to see someone using theirs.

Tim, great snow pics. Winters do get long but, few things are prettier than fresh snow. Then you include knives and man's best friend, well done.
You inspired me for a redo shot with my radio jack for todays carry.

Jack

That is a nice pair to weather the storm with, my friend!!! Its a nippy one here but should get nice later

Thanks Gev, hope the sun shone on you my friend

Cool pic

Very nice Bob

Outstanding Tom

Terrific S&M Barlow Bob! Great 25's Travman and Jack!

We have a snowstorm rolling in so it looks like a snow blower day tomorrow.

Thanks Ken, nice pair  Hope you don't get too much of the white stuff

Thank you, sir! The database error only seems to happen if I wait til the end of the day to post, often after 12am local time. Perhaps there's some recurring local maintenance I keep running into. I reckon I'm going to have to get situated earlier than that from now on. :D

I suspect there's sometimes overnight maintenance...which is my morning! :grumpy: :D

Liking that Wolstenholm jack!

Thank you my friend

Those scratted ancient shivers... :p

:D

Great choices TB

Great pics guys

Thanks for all the good thoughts and inspiration to keep posting everyone. Some real fine cutlery being shown here.:cool:

Carrying 3 today that have become Safe Queens. Pretty dreary outside , so pictures were taken inside today
An Iron Horse with some scrimshaw from 2013

A Case Russlock from 2007

A small Case 2 5/8 " long from 1940 / 1964

I won't repeat all the pictures but there's some excellent knives being shown over the last day!

I made a promise to throw this one right into the pocket. It's gonna go with me for the next couple of days for sure!! Todd nailed another of my visions spot on. Very talented man to work with. 3-3/4" closed

Super beauty, Jake! I would not guess it was a Davidson if I could not see the tang stamp and that a compliment to his skill!!!!

I got this one on the exchange. :) Straight from the mail to the pocket it goes! 73 Tidioute OD Linen Micarta :D
