Happy Birthday, Sarah!

...
Here's a trapper by Bret (not mine) :) Jake has an acid washed blade by Bret as well.
Beautiful Taramundi GT. elegant.

BarbwireHogNeck1.jpg
Thanks for the pic of the acid washed blades, Tim; that's an interesting treatment for a stainless blade!
If you like Taramundis, you should take a look at a lutejones post in the thread about storing knives; he has a box pictured there in which he has several sweet Taramundis!

...
Another week, another storm :grumpy: I've got these two with me today :)

William Rodgers and Todd Davison today :)

Commendable choices the past two days, Jack!

This Camillus scout is growing on me, really stout with a lot of life left in it.

Brought out my Primble today.

Tom, you also have a distinguished duo almost every day, including the past two days!

...
Thanks for the compliment GT. I do like SAK's and I'm pleased you like to see them. If your still looking for an Electrician Plus check out the SwissBianco store.
...
With all the Barlow's being shown I been inspired to carry a GEC 25 along with a Case Half Whittler today.

Ken K.
Thanks for the hint on an Electrician Plus, Ken. Pleasing pair you've picked!

...
Today I decided to carry a Burgundy Presidential and a favorite TC Barlow.

Yet another tremendous twosome! Dean, the handles of your Barlow remind me of flames, and the color in the covers of your Presidential really come out in that photo!

Splendid photos of your Old Timer, jacktrades! (What model is it?)

Thanks for the kind words, gents.
5K Q's, they are John Lloyd's "trademark" stag covers.
Thanks for the follow-up, puukkoman. :)

Keep on scrimin on, Gary

Great looking knives yesterday, Sir
...
Thanks, Gev. :) I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your scrimshaw trial!

S&M Barlow

That Barlow is a beauty, Bob!

This one gets a lot of pocket time.

MB144YV.jpg
Fantastic lanyard; the bead is really special with those covers on the knife!

...
Today is Granddaddy's Old Timer!

Handsome, historic, heritage knife, Ron!!:cool: How old do you think it is? Is the tang stamp Schrade Walden?

...
Thanks, GT! ...
I ordered a MAM locking sheepsfoot because I really like the way yours looks and I wouldn't mind having more options for Wooden Wednesday. :)
...
I love the obscenely-long bolster on the Taramundi, that's a unique-looking little European! That canoe is a treasure, too! Sheffield's finest, and I really like what they did with the stamps on the bolster.
...
Playing a little catchup, so here are the last few days of carries.
...
Today's "back to work" trio, which is basically yesterday's duo plus my entry for Connor's "this week's carry" challenge, the MOP Keen Kutter equal-end:

Terrific trio, TB! That pearl KK is top-notch, and that's an impressive handful of lanyard on your Camillus demo knife!
Thanks for the compliments about my knives. I think you'll like the MAM, and the Taramundi and IXL canoe intrigue me as much now as when I first got them. ;)

The #71 today....

Nice knife and pic! What's the "bead" on the lanyard? It reminds me of part of the pull-chain assembly on an old lamp I have!

Carrying 3 today that have become Safe Queens. Pretty dreary outside , so pictures were taken inside today
...
Terrific trio, Harry! I'm enjoying the little run of scrimshaw that folks are showing off lately.

...
I made a promise to throw this one right into the pocket. It's gonna go with me for the next couple of days for sure!! Todd nailed another of my visions spot on. Very talented man to work with. 3-3/4" closed

Congrats on that astounding knife, Jake!:eek::thumbup: The jigging is peerless, and I can't stop looking at that spearpoint! I look lustfully at other blade shapes at times, but my heart belongs to spearpoints. ;)

Tidioute #25 with dyed camel bone

That's a gorgeous knife, Travman!

...
Thank you, it snowed today and Rémy and I walked around to the usual spot again, this time with just my trusty Opinel.

Dead Skunk White Owl for me today

Wonderful White Owl, Will!

Been a few days since I have been able to post. Wonderful carries everyone! This one has managed to stay for several days in a row. Love to CF the rivers in the soup : )

Congrats on your birthday gifts, pertinux! That Primble is a master of the primary colors: I've seen many examples of his preeminent reds, and now this awesome azure!

That's a marvelous 61OT, Bloefield! I have a new Chinese version, but your old USA is super!

This past weekend I've been in London visiting my sister in law and as I was afraid of losing my favorite knife while traveling I've carried this one

I also want to show you my wife's EDC
The small Vic classic is usually with her and the stolen 6375 is the knife she uses at work.
The sheepsfoot gets the more use cutting leather, and it excels at it thanks to the thin grind

Looking forward to getting it, GT. I expect to be toting it on an upcoming Wooden Wednesday, maybe next week's.

Is that 379 a full flat grind? I think both grinds have their merits on blades the size of the usual Buck folder, but I'm really starting to like the saber grind on my newer "signature" 303. I have a 310 coming in the mail which I believe is a little older and IIRC it has a FFG, so I may be able to do some direct head-to-head comparison.

I like that 72OT, too. Later this week I may take my own Taylor-Schrade anniversary whittler out for a tote. And you have a heck of a collection of Vics as always.

That's an interesting little knife you brought to the UK, is it a rehandle?

The #75 is such a great pattern, kudos to your wife for it. Does she have any issues with its size? Glad you pilfered it for a bit, it's a nice example!

Thanks for sharing, Mrs. Mateo! :D

Thanks, GT. Nice photo of your SAK. Have you ever used the saw on your Camper?

Thanks mate
It is not a rehandle as far as I know, a friend of my father gave it to me a while ago. The knife has no markings and we think it's from solingen because he lived very near that town for some years.
Keep in mind that the big stockman is not for carrying, she keeps it with the rest of the tools, and as you already know it's very comfortable in hand with the sheepsfoot open

Aw-- I'm honored!

Truth be known, I grabbed mine again today as well, as it remains my "coming home" knife. I don't have a "of the day" picture so didn't post it, but here it is again:

Gary - Thank you my friend. Yes it is Schrade Walden. My grandfather passed in 1968 at which time I was given this 8OT. So based on the match strike pull and the location of the swedge in relationship to the match strike I would guess that it was made in the 1963 to 1965 range. I also remember aggravating him when we visited wanting to see his knife. I guess this is what started it all for me!:D

Welcome to the porch! There is absolutely nothing wrong with your Imperial Barlow. It has been my experience that they have some great carbon and do take and hold a great edge. Your picture is also great. You will find a warm welcome here, never be afraid to show a traditional knife of any variety! :D

They remind me of my childhood and still today I carry one in my watch pocket on weekends:)GREAT KNIFE

I've been very impressed with Buck's import line, and the bone covered ones are especially nice. I recently picked up one of the larger 371 stockman, but haven't carried it yet. I wish they'd do the little 375 "Deuce" in bone, too.

And while I'm wishing, I wish Case would bring these back. It's one I wouldn't mind buying a spare of.

I just can't seem to get this one out of my pocket lately.

Thanks Tim, sorry for my confusion :o Love the pics

Thank you Jack :)

That half sure is getting some patina. :o The one thing about such a big stockman is that there's an awful lot of acreage on that master blade. I am going to start using it exclusively for a while to see if I can spread some patina out. It's already sitting on the table waiting to be pocketed. :)

An alox SAK with scissors would instantly get me back into the Vic game. My Cybertool Lite is already over ten years old and while it serves dutifully nearly every day it's sometimes too much multitool for the situation. Plus that alox just look dashing!

One of the best photos an Opi has ever taken, and then DOGE!!![/B] :D :D :D

Thank you TsarBomba, that's quite the compliment :)
I agree about the SAK, perfect size and combination.

In honor of Pertinux's birthday, I slipped this TC in my pocket, first thing this morning. It reminds me of her, possibly because she used to show her Antique Amber TC frequently and gave me the wants. I finally found one, however, her particular one is the prettiest. I nick named mine a PPP antique amber - Pertinux's Potassium Permanganate. Her pictures of her Antique Amber TC inspired.

She is the gem of the porch, IMO ! Happy birthday Sarah and I hope your day is a fine one all day ! :)

I thought this picture described mine best today, since it is cold and the snow is flying again!

11uf0bo.jpg

I agree with everything you said Rob, Sarah is a gem on Bladeforums. I can honestly said Sarah's TC gave methe wantstoo...but those wants will soon be satisfied by USPS ;) I cannot wait. It needs some TLC but I hope to get it "Primble-lised"

Thanks for the pic of the acid washed blades, Tim; that's an interesting treatment for a stainless blade!

GT Thanks for petting my White Owl, it's back on its perch now.

But, single-springs always delight me so I went for this. Very nice in the hand, great snap and it's not so bad looking either...;)
