What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Lazy day in a lounge chair with a GEC 54 Jack. I feel a great weariness....think a nap is in order.

That smooth autumn bone is beautiful I have been wanting a knife with that handle material for a while!

Beautiful TC that ebony wood is something else!! Pretty dog also! Australian Shepard?

Thank you for the compliments UAB89. He's our Shetland Sheepdog named Buddy, can say without hesitation that he's our best friend/dog ever:thumbup:

Enjoy your Sunday:)

Superb Charlow, Dean!:cool: I should be taking notes; you seem to have a lot of fantastic TCs! Have you ever posted one of those Barlow wheel group shots to display them all at once?
- GT

I have a few, GT. I did one of those wheel deals awhile back, but I've gotten more since then. I'm still working on my group shot photo skills (actually, I'm working on all my photo skills)!!!

Spending the day with my Buddy Boy, he's a little under the weather as of late.

Carrying a special knife today. One that went to a friend and ended up back home again;)

Buddy Boy sure is a nice looking dog, Paul. And the knife ain't bad looking either.

You have quite the collection of TC's there. They really look great, BUT they would look even better with a patina. :D

I'm with you on that, SSS. I've got a couple of users (check out Charlie's Barlow thread), but there's also something to say for those that are lightly used and kept looking gnu.

That Camillus of yours is a great looking, well used knife!

Why are there so many repeat pictures of knives is it due to quotes??

Yes, it's because people are commenting on the photos being posted by other members, and 'quoting' makes it easier to see which knife/photo they're commenting on

Yes. I wish people would not quote photos, it really muddies up the photo threads. It's really bad in the "Old Knives" thread also.

Well that's the way it works here Matt, welcome to Traditionals

Smashing Sunday selection sir

Great photo of a beautiful viper. That snakewood glows!

+1

Bob - Good to see you my friend, stay warm! :) That is a very nice Wright from Mr. Jack!

That's just Wright, Bob! ;) Splendid gift Jack sent your way!

I should point out that while I donated that knife to The Big Bob Giveaway, it was actually won by Chris Montgomery. Chris told me to send it to Bob, so strictly speaking Chris is the donor ;) :D

Great-looking Viper Ron

Thanks, fellas. And, yep, that's the new Iron River (made by Bark River for Derrick at KnivesShipFree in Escanaba, Michigan). Here's another look from yesterday

Thanks for the extra pic and info, just been checking them out :)

Sweet pic of your Buddy Paul :) Cool time check too

A Case 3 7/8" stockman, a #3347. in yellow Delrin and CV has been in my pocket most of the day.

Thanks, Ron; I try to be "impartial", but I definitely have some knives that deserve more attention than others! :)
Looking forward to seeing the contents of your packages (even though I think there's a biblical warning about a "brood of vipers" :D)!

Smoooooooth indeed, Ron; congrats!

Stockman of the week is a Colt "black stag" bone stag sowbelly:

Enjoy your Sunday everyone:thumbup:

Paul - What a beautiful friend you have in Buddy Boy! :) That TC is a special knife in its own right and then you add a friend in the mix, well, it just don't get better than that!

Great-looking Viper Ron

Jack - Thank you my friend.:)

Jack and Ron, Thank you for your kind compliments on my best friend, knife and Tidioute tag:)

So you noticed my copper hammer that Coolio made me, huh ! ;):D

Glad to see the TC made it back home Paul and a beautiful friend you have ! (The furry one - not necessarily that mongrel down under ;):D:D:D)

It was a saber grind Sunday for me.

Very nice Camillus Sappy !:)

+ 1 - I appreciate all the enthusiasm that just about everyone here has to show us there knives, and the time it takes to get their photos and upload and comment on other members knives. In comparison, it takes little time to just look at the pics or scroll right by if one chooses. ;):)

Smashing Sunday selection sir

Thank you Mr. Jack and I am hoping that smashing means you observed the smashing copper hammer that member Coolio sent me. ;):D

I like your rope knife, but, your scratted bone TC may be feeling lonely by now. ;):D

Mr. Halfstop - another fine addition to your den of snakes and thank you for your comment !:D

Fair enough. It's really only annoying when attempting to view a whole thread. That's the first thing I usually do is go through interesting photo threads like the ones here with all of the stunning photos of awesome knives. To get to new content, there is a lot of repetition. It would be awesome to be able to collapse a thread to just original photos to browse the eye candy easier. That will be the last complaining you will hear from me on it. :D

I carried a Case medium Texas jack in black synthetic covers and Tru-sharp today.

I've taken a liking to it. I wish they still made it in my favorite red bone and CV, but it's nice as it is.

Awesome patina on those knives! How do you like the saber grind? I was think about getting the Gec #85 with a Scandi grind but not 100 % sold on it yet?

Im not going to lie, it's not my favorite grind on a slip joint. I've often thought about getting another higo and having someone refrains it to a flat grind. I don't mind em so much on my bigger folders or fixed blades that may actually see "hard use," but for a little slip joint that mostly sees light use I prefer a nice thin flat grind.
I hope that helps.

I have a few, GT.

Thanks and you make a good point. It pains me to look at the picture of my 77 barlow when it was brand new. Don't get me wrong, I love the character it has acquired, but that thing was a work of art when it came out of the tube.

Very nice Camillus Sappy !:)

Thanks Primble!

Happy Valentine's day all! Lucky enough to have a overnight stay with my wife in Oregon Wine country. Feeling blessed. Thought this was a good carry for the occasion

Yes indeed, very nice my friend

Thank you, Charklie's knives do have a habit of possessing me! :D

Good man :) :thumbup; I imagine you browse on your phone? A lot of members here (including one of our hard-working mods) use Tapatalk to browse the forums. You still get the repeat content, but skip through it faster I think  The Old Knives thread you mentioned used to be a real backwater, but has got busier recently. I need to go and check out some of the beauties there myself ;)
