What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I just got my #18 Coyote in the mail today, and I believe it's going to be in my pocket for some time to come. I always like to have a small straight edge somewhere in the mix, which is why I tend to carry stockmans and whittlers most of the time. With this little pocket scalpel in the watch pocket, I'm free to start carrying single blade spears and clips more often. :)

Nice Osage on your Coyote Rachel, it looks awesome. Thanks also for the nice comments yesterday. :)

Is that one of the Case Classic knives made by Queen for Parker ?:confused::)

Nice fish shield on the bottom knife !!:thumbup::)

It's definitely Queen-made, and I think you might be correct that Parker had 'em done. I'll dig up the box tomorrow and snap a pic, if that will tell you anything.

And a fine forgotten treasure it is:D;) Thanks for the compliment my friend!

Thank you Jack, I like that worn red bone on your Case Stockman :)

Thanks Tim, those are two more great pics :)

Thanks Jack, I enjoy the stockman photos as it is a pattern I have yet to persue. Another nice one today/tomorrow (not sure which is correct with the time difference :) )

Thank you my friend, it currently midday here :)

GT - very cool ring knife

More grey and rain today, so I am totin' some more colorful choices.

Thanks, Tom. :) I like your colorful choices! When was the last time you DIDN'T carry either a Bark River or a scout/SAK???

I think I will carry a cattle knife today:D And a picture of the ploughed fields in Milam County last Sunday

Yes sir ...a very fertile part of Texas. Here is another area, down the road about 4 miles where the water breathing Dragon lives;)

Superb cattle knife, Gev! I don't recognize your lovely assistant in the photo, though. I enjoyed your photos of your "neck of the woods", but I'm not used to seeing such flat country with such distant horizons! I think Montana is called "Big Sky Country", but it's hard to imagine more sky than you have.

Every day!

Semper Fi with you and your Barlow, Jeff!

These today. Natural materials, but nice and colorful, to celebrate the beautiful spring-like weather we're having today.

I raved about that Case/Queen whittler yesterday, but today I have to ask about the toothpick! Who makes it? How big? Single blade? Cover material? Love the fish shield, and everything else about that knife!!

Congrats, BTMac!! Is that one of the new ones? Fantastic shield, grain, EO!:cool:

Wooden Wednesday

At least in the morning .

Another tremendous trio, Harry! What's the middle one, or is that your Moki?

Really enjoying this clip point boys knife
That's a classic, UAB!

The TB39 this week...
Splendid sowbellies, Peter!!!

:D Love the pics my friend  An early start for me tomorrow, but I'll be continuing my Stockman theme with this stainless IXL. First time I've carried this knife I think, kinda forgot I had it :o :D

Thanks for displaying another interesting stockman, Jack! Bone handles that have been deeply dyed, except by the very ends, or are they stag?

Congrats, Rachel, that looks like a winner! "Pocket scalpel" seems like an apt description.

Thanks, GT. A ring-opener is always a good choice!

I carried these two today for Wooden Wednesday.

Thanks, Dean.:) As they say at the baseball games, "Good wood!" Congrats on the new 18!

Hope you get some of our weather Tom, it was a 70 degrees out today. Got around for a ride and run with the dog. Nice OO wood.

Thank you GT :D Haha here are some more photos from today's carry
Did the coin come from Jack as well? Love old currency.

Thanks, Tim; the coin IS from Jack. ;) It's a 1903 British penny that's substantially larger than a US quarter. Great pic of your dog: Regal Remy, Master of All He Surveys!! :p

A couple more knives in this week's rotation are an Uncle Henry stockman and a Belnap Blue Grass Barlow:

Great old looking Uncle Henry, GT. I can't tell you how many of those knives are probably lost around my Grandpas farm.

I pulled out the elk stag #48 for tomorrow.

Beautiful knife and photo Jeff

Thanks GT! I can't remember the last time this phenomena occurred but I am sure it has at some point :). Great barlow sir, looks well-loved

My choices this week have nothing to do with practicality, and everything to do with elevating my mood in this dreary weather. More rain today, so I am combating it with more color. So far it is working ;).

I am happy you like the pictures as i always enjoy yours so much! I had planned some knife pics after these but after the next stop the van would not start again. I went into emergency mechanic mode and was able to short the starter and get her going again. I could not risk stopping again so far from home. Turned out to be a faulty relay:D

I really enjoy your recaps and comments! Yes, in that neck of the woods, big sky abounds! I love it and look forward to the invigorating time travel;)

Like your Belknap GT !!!! Don't know if I have seen that one before. Yes , the middle one is my Moki . Like it a lot for the F & F and sharpness. It also makes a great dress up carry. I have a few other carries for getting dirty.

Thanks my friend, they're just synthetic simulated stag I'm afraid, from after Wostenholm had been taken over by Joseph Rodgers, and in turn by Imperial. It's a decent enough knife, but not on a par with the older Wostenholms I don't think

Those are two very nice knives you have with you today

I'm glad you managed you managed to get her started my friend, the pics are a real treat

Great knives everyone!

I'm into day 4 of the week long challenge and still carrying the Colonial ranger.

I used it yesterday to open a package with a very nice Case Barlow in it.

Thanks, GT. That one's made by John Lloyd, when he was in Laredo, Mexico. It was a gift from Duncan (campbellclanman here on the forum). The handles are John's amber stag, almost like a signature feature on many of his knives. Yes, single blade, 52100 steel, and I'd have to measure it again but it's like a medium-large toothpick (between 4 and 5 inches... I'd guesstimate 4.5). And yeah, that perch shield is pretty darn cool, ain't it?? ;)

Thank you for your remarks. This might be my favorite knife out of all the ones I've got. Not only is it a real stunner, with amazing steel and spot-on fit & finish, but it reminds me of the caring and generosity of friends.
