I am happy you like the pictures as i always enjoy yours so much! I had planned some knife pics after these but after the next stop the van would not start again.I went into emergency mechanic mode and was able to short the starter and get her going again. I could not risk stopping again so far from home. Turned out to be a faulty relay

I really enjoy your recaps and comments! Yes, in that neck of the woods, big sky abounds! I love it and look forward to the invigorating time travel![]()
Thanks, Ron. Another snazzy sheepsfoot Charlow you have there! What does GEC call the color of that bone? It almost perfectly matches the background in your photo!
Couple of other knives I'm carrying Monday-Friday this week came to me from across the sea:
a stainless ring-opener from Sheffield by way of Jack Black

Is that handle Osage? It's darkening very handsomely and looks great!
Thanks, Tim; the coin IS from Jack. It's a 1903 British penny that's substantially larger than a US quarter. Great pic of your dog: Regal Remy, Master of All He Surveys!!

I see I am in good company Tim. Long pull spear TC for me today too.![]()
Two more fantastic pics Tim.

My choices this week have nothing to do with practicality, and everything to do with elevating my mood in this dreary weather. More rain today, so I am combating it with more color. So far it is working.
That's a WONDERFUL picture of Remy Tim, darn nice knife also:thumbup:![]()
I think this is the second time you have posted about having to call on your mechanical skills to get you home Gevo. I expect that you have had more also !!!!! I rather like that area of your fine state.

I have to agree, that O/O is just beautiful. Kudos on that.
Half Stop, which model is that serpentine Osage Orange?
Thanks, Jake.Great old looking Uncle Henry, GT. I can't tell you how many of those knives are probably lost around my Grandpas farm.
Thanks, Tom.
Thanks GT! I can't remember the last time this phenomena occurred but I am sure it has at some point. Great barlow sir, looks well-loved

Thanks, Harry. I have no idea where that Barlow came from; I suspect it may have once belonged to my father-in-law in Indianapolis, who gave it to my wife at some time before I met her, and it came to me as a dowry.Like your Belknap GT !!!! Don't know if I have seen that one before. Yes , the middle one is my Moki . Like it a lot for the F & F and sharpness. It also makes a great dress up carry. I have a few other carries for getting dirty.
Harry
Thanks for the additional info about your I*XL stockman, for the intriguing catalog pics, and for the compliments on a couple of my knives for the week. :thumbup:Thanks my friend, they're just synthetic simulated stag I'm afraid, from after Wostenholm had been taken over by Joseph Rodgers, and in turn by Imperial. It's a decent enough knife, but not on a par with the older Wostenholms I don't think
Those are two very nice knives you have with you today
Thanks for all the details, puukkoman; its no wonder that toothpick is one of your favorites! Thanks, GT. That one's made by John Lloyd, when he was in Laredo, Mexico. It was a gift from Duncan (campbellclanman here on the forum). The handles are John's amber stag, almost like a signature feature on many of his knives. Yes, single blade, 52100 steel, and I'd have to measure it again but it's like a medium-large toothpick (between 4 and 5 inches... I'd guesstimate 4.5). And yeah, that perch shield is pretty darn cool, ain't it??![]()
Thank you for your remarks. This might be my favorite knife out of all the ones I've got. Not only is it a real stunner, with amazing steel and spot-on fit & finish, but it reminds me of the caring and generosity of friends.
Thanks, Ron.Gary - Thank you my friend. That Jack has sent you a dandy from Sheffield. The color of that TC Sheep is Tan Jigged Bone. Not a bad looking Barlow for a 2nd.
For Wednesday

Yet another venerable stockman, and the photo has a very striking atmosphere!...
This is an older IXL Stockman than I carried yesterday, more pocketable, and with blades of carbon steel. It was a generous gift from Lyle. I was lucky to pick up another of these knives, and gifted it to Stephen 'Old & In The Way', who I hope will reappear here again one dayIt's my carry for Old Friends Friday
