What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This is an older IXL Stockman than I carried yesterday, more pocketable, and with blades of carbon steel. It was a generous gift from Lyle. I was lucky to pick up another of these knives, and gifted it to Stephen 'Old & In The Way', who I hope will reappear here again one day :) It's my carry for Old Friends Friday

I like the look of that one, Jack. Great photo, too!

Here are the knives I carry EVERY week; I suppose they might qualify for Old Friends Friday status.

A very classic looking pair, GT.

I've got my two newest with me. Case Punch Stockman

A great looking stockman, r8shell! The punch really completes the package. I picked up an Osage Orange Coyote, also. Great little knife.

I'm carrying my knife of 2015 and daily home companion today. Not only useful but also a great knife to CE and CF.

What is the steel on your little fixed blade Dantone? Looks like a handy knife!

Jake- It's earned its stay here. it's D2 that had been blued at the factory. Really makes the edge that much more attractive. The nice thing is Smith and Sons will re-blue, sharpen and any other warranty work for its lifetime for free.

swaybacksteve- Thanks buddy. It's a Smith and Sons Brave model. Their custom one not the mid tech line and it's actually a blueing from the factory on that blade.

Looks like a great day for a hike there ! I'm off for one as well later today after work here.
Great pair of companions you have to accompany you. I just picked up a SBJ in cv last week and had to force it out of my pocket for something else. Such an awesome knife.

The peanut is usually in my watch pocket. The Northwoods was a Christmas present from my wife, the TC was my birthday gift a couple years prior and the Buck was my fathers. All are special to me. So I have several choice on what I will carry today on my birthday.

And to you too Chui, great-looking carry there

That 73 is certainly seeing it's fair share of use Brett! The color of the stag is really eye catching.

Finally got around to replacing the 303 Cadet that I lost after 15 years of EDC. Hopefully I'll get at least another 15 out of this one.

Happy birthday! Don't think you can choose wrong in that set.

Great choices for your birthday. And what a great day for a birthday. I say that because it is also my birthday today. You can see my birthday choice in post 78041.

I think that is the prince of peanuts.

Looking good. :)

I'll say. I love how yours is changing with use. I opted for smooth white bone, early and then ultimately, with no regrets-- but the appearance of that jigged bone did temporarily throw a spanner in the works at Final Decision Time. Very nice!

Happy Birthday! :-)

I am continuing to carry knives this week without a thought towards practicality, just knives that elevate my mood.

That's become my consistent approach throughout. :D

... Whether because of intrinsic merits of presentation and workmanship, or as pocketable manifestations of friendship and good company, or some combination of both, I'm grateful for the cutlery-- near and far-- that brightens my days.

Haven't posted here in a while. Been having the same knife in my pocket for a couple weeks. Another Davison. But I got my new one in. 1337, double blade. Love this knife. It's as close to perfect for use as they can be. Trimmimg up carpet edges on the cobra and posin

Great knife Robb !!!

Thanks, Rob! Much appreciated and I really do love the performance of this now-thinned D2. Queen's steel is hardened very well.

A joyous Friday to you all. Some beautiful photographs over the last few days.

That is an iconic version of an iconic knife. I love the bolster stamp and handles! Looks like it is very nicely wearing in.

Very nice indeed Ernie

Another crack of dawn start for me tomorrow, but at least it's recreation rather than work this time :) I generally don't enter the frequent generous giveaways here, in no small part due to the incredible luck I've had in the past :) Obviously, the first time I won, I was particularly thrilled, and the prize most generously offered by KG, was this Case Medium Stockman. It's a knife I often carry when pocket space is at a premium or when a small knife is most appropriate. It certainly qualifies as another old friend I think. Thanks again KG
