What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Back to my #48 for a couple of weeks now. Pretty much as soon as my thumb nail grew back enough to open the blades.

An outstanding combination! :)

Thanks again for the stockman tour Jack, the Rodgers is a beauty

Two more compelling combos, Tom! (That black Beer Scout and white Delrin Peanut would make a striking pair!) I've really appreciated your meteorologically-inspired, mood-altering carries this week!

Some of my "Can't Wait Weekend" carries are Case chestnut bone CV SBs: SodBuster Jr (thanks, Bob), SowBelly Stockman (thanks, Ron), and SwayBack Jack (thanks, Paul).

Thanks GT, it was a fun experiment. Interesting too in how much just having a bit of color or sentimental favorite with me did elevate my mood this rainy week.

Nice trifecta of Case goodness

I feel the sugar coursing through my veins.

Nice knife, but a glorious brunch HST ;)

Yesterday I attempted to make a horizontal leather belt sheath for my SAK Farmers. It was a failure of epic proportions. Undaunted and in fact emboldened by the experience, I am going to continue the project this week as I have about 7 feet of usable leather remaining :).

For me today:

Thanks, Dean. :) That 38 sure is an impressive pocket knife; I'd never noticed the rattail bolsters before! Happy belated birthday greetings; hope you enjoy your 30s! :D

I did enjoy my 30s, 30 years ago. :) Your CV SBs are all great looking knives, GT, but I like the Sodbuster, Jr best. Case really does chestnut good.

Just a few ole Barlows in my pockets today:

I carried this soup to church today.

Jack, excellent old stockman! A low riding sheep is always nice...

Thanks Jake

A very fine conclusion to the week of stockmen Mr. Jack !:)

Thanks Mr P, what a lovely pair of old Barlows

Jack That Rodgers at 4" is quite a lot bigger than the knife from Queen at 3.25". It looks a relatively narrow knife though with some useful low joints, perhaps Jolipapa might consider the GEC 81 Abilene Stock Knife, they're 4" and much less bulky that the CASE Large Stockman (a fine knife but too big for my carry taste).

Yes, quite slim and pocket-friendly for a relatively large knife Will

Very nice Chui

Thanks again for the stockman tour Jack, the Rodgers is a beauty

Primble - Congrats on that SEC Tournament Championship for them Catts. They won a hard battle today. Speaking of those nice ole barlows, I just happen to have an ole one in my pocket today. Got this Schrade Cut Co in this week and finally had a chance to get some photos. Needs a little spiffing up, but not bad for a ole gentleman. :D

The rain finally stopped and I could do some yard work today. 85 degrees and steamy out, I had my mystery hawkbill with me.

Like all three of those Cases GT !:thumbup::thumbup::)

Primble Many thanks to you too, I'm very fond of that Queen No.26, great build on it, super W&T and no quality faults at all. It's a bit like having a 3 blade Penknife. That Ulster Barlow of yours has benchmark standard Sawn Bone on it, mellow! And those pins...:thumbup::eek::cool:

Thank you my friend. :thumbup::)

This WONDERFUL knife arrived late Thursday as I was headed out to ready my work truck for an early deck season, worked late so no time to chicken eye and coon finger. Up early and on the road to clean/prep 4 decks for staining the following day...no time for devotion:grumpy: Up early on on the road Saturday to stain the decks I prepped the day before, worked late and STILL, NO TIME for devotion.....UNTIL an hour or so before sunset today:thumbup:

Tomorrow will be a good day as this will ride with me all day long:cool:

I LOVE this Fish Barlow brother Mark!!!

JP Obviously, I don't know the size of Jack's Stockman knife, but you might be interested in Queen Cutlery's No.26 Small Stockman. It looks similar and has a low riding Sheepfoot making it good in the hand. Various bone, horn and wood versions.

Thanks, Will

I hafta second the Queen stockman, great size, my only complaint is the shield is glued and mine popped out, luckily I found it in my pocket but I know of 2 other members here who had lost theirs too. Other than that it's a great little knife and I enjoy carryin' mine every chance I get. If you can find one I'd highly recommend picking it up.
