What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

She's a beauty! Wow... I might have to get me one.

Thank you. I think GEC did a really nice job finishing the cocobolo on the Calf Roper's. I was totin' the Calf Roper again today.

Really nice jigging on that one. Is that the antique bone? It looks much darker than mine.

Yes it is, Jake. I've seen darker and lighter antique bone. Of course the lighting makes a difference as well. The jigged portion is probably a little "browner" than the image reveals.

I think yours has the best colored bone I have seen. Most of the antique bone I've seen/have is almost yellow in color. Maybe it's the lighting, but I like the dark color.

Thanks, guys. I think I'll hang on to this one.

I've got the edge tuned the way I like it. (It was much less than satisfactory as delivered.)

Hey Elliott. Was you Tribal Spear have a very significant burr? :) I had the same thing on mine but it is a great user now.

Tom,

It came with a significant burr, lopsided bevels and a bluntish tip. It's quite sharp now though I didn't really try to regrind the tip.

Today's the day for my Case yellow synthetic mini trapper. She's all sharpened up and getting a nice patina from all those apples I've been enjoying. The only thing is that the main blade has a mushy snap back when closing, probably will have to give a thorough cleaning and oiling to get it to snap properly...
