What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Many fine knives and pictures today:thumbup:

I apologize for the poor composition but even with my nonexistent picture skills the wonderful Fish Barlow amazes me:cool:

Thanks again Mark, love this knife...a quick pic before the Sun sets.

Great shot of that Cadet. Is that a case you made?

Today's carry is one of my more heavily used TCs. Photographed with a 116 year-old coin I got in change (!) yesterday.

Thanks, Dean. I made the pocket slip out of a old sew-up aka tubular bicycle tire. Some sew-ups are lined with silk so they work great for a slip.
Great score on the old coin!

This one was abandoned on my porch day before yesterday.....so I was obligated to give it a good home. :D

I'm going to have to get me one of those in the future. Being a Professional Bass Angler I feel I need to carry one in my pocket on tournaments lol.

That is such a great looking knife Paul , I was wondering if you carry it in a slip to protect it ????? I just can't imagine having it and not carrying it often .

Thanks Robert, I'm sure enjoying this one:thumbup:

Thank you Harry, it deserves slip carry but I haven't become accustomed to slips yet:o it does ride solo in my pocket...no coins, keys etc...

Reminds me of the G. Loomis logo. ;)
Such an awesome knife Paul.

Beautiful Enrique Pena there David.

Thanks Bob, you nailed the similarity logo wise. I spent a brief time in retail with Galyons (now Dicks Sporting Goods) & sold MANY G. Loomis rods:thumbup: and I second your compliment towards David's Pena:cool::thumbup:

Well, I'm still buried under a mountain of work. Here are the photos I've taken as I continue to fall further and further behind the thread and all your wonderful knives. I will endeavour to catch up on commentary as the week goes on, and of course pick a winner for the EDC challenge GAW, but between making arrangements for my mother's birthday and all the after-hours work stuff this week I haven't had much time to just sit and read, so I look forward to some quiet time hopefully soon.

Foliage Friday :p:

Stag Saturday:

I was going to try and do a "Synthetic Sunday" but out of necessity I loaded up with every blade profile possible to cover my bases today:

I'm tired just recapping the weekend! :o Looking forward to ogling all the wonderful knives everybody posted. :D

Great pics folks

Another interesting background for that splendid Rope Knife, Jack! Thanks for the info on the covers of your tackler’s knife; I thought the pic showed a certain translucence in the handle that would indicate horn. I’m encouraged that after 2+ years absorbing some knife knowledge, I can actually start using and applying it sometimes! The Land Shark appeals to me, but I just haven’t used it much yet; I haven’t even assigned it a spot in my rotation schedule. Part of the problem is that, although the name contains “shark”, I’m finding it “neither fish nor fowl” with regard to my “carry categories”. ;) Not stockman, nor SAK, nor non-SAK with bail, nor “Euro knife”, nor canoe (although it’s vaguely like a 1-blade canoe), nor big (at least 4”) knife. I’ll probably put it in the miscellaneous category, or possibly the watch pocket category. Best thing for me to put it through its paces is use it in the kitchen for a week or two!
When I visited my daughter in Spain during January of last year, I often had trouble with Database Errors for BF first thing in the morning.

...

First day of spring today, I think. Pretty, sunny day here, but the wind is biting cold! :( But here’s a couple of photos of a Kutmaster stockman I bought in a junk store while on vacation last summer. Both back springs are busted, but I can’t bring myself to trash it, so I’m using it to “ring in spring” with a cluster of crocuses in the back yard.

Thanks GT, interesting to read your thoughts on the Landshark  I like straight-edged blades, and find them good for a variety of cutting tasks, but in the kitchen, I prefer a curved blade. Nice pics of your Kutmaster, shame about the springs :(

Just finished my first slip joint knife tonight.

Nice work

Carrying a couple of old Sheffields today

Friends back from ski vacations brought me that splendid and tasty beaufort (a neighbor to Opinel). Could not resist to eat a (fair) bit, the Ancient Barlow is perfect for slicing.

Today it ended up on a gratin dauphinois.
