What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This Case mini trapper has been in my pocket for the last two weeks.

That Northfield Scout has some nice stag on it, Ron.

I've got this 3" Ohta Drop Point with me today.
P1010043%201.jpg

Gary - Thanks, and your Ohta does as well.

Nice nice stag on that one Mr. Halfstop ! Wondering if Middle Tennessee State is your new favoite team yet ?:confused::D

Primble - Thanks buddy. I hope I don't have to start pulling for them. Them Catts need to keep winning!:D

To many fantastic photos and knives to copy them all....a most excellent day! Cold front and rain last night and a glorious day today:thumbup::thumbup:

Heading out in it with this in my pocket

Robeson curvy

8091841566_747437b5ca_b.jpg

Gev - That Robeson is a dandy to have in the pocket on any day.

Todays carry and most every day too.

Then the mail person brought me a little Coyote and it gets the pictures taken and into my watch pocket. Lot of CF & CE with it later. It is a LITTLE jewel.

Harry

Harry - That is a nice Northfield Trio you got there. I got one of the Sangria Coyotes and I have been doing some CF & CE myself.:D

I took this one out with me today. A bright sunny day but a bitter North wind kept it very chill unfortunately.

Thanks, Will

Will - Beautiful Chestnut bone on your stockman. I think they are some of Cases finest available today.

I enjoy the slimness of mine as well. Over this week of my #85 carry, I kept saying that over and over.

:thumbup::D

...
I can't go by this one without commenting. Wow! Bolster, bone and blade - none finer made. I wax poetic. :D

Looking good there, Prof!

Going natural today (the knives - not me!).

Dean, prime poetry! ;) Thanks for the compliment on my formulaic knife. :) The "natural" (or "bedspread") knives are looking good, too!

...
:D  Stay away from water, with all that steel in your pockets, my friend! :D
...
Good advice, Jack, and much appreciated! :D

I've been remiss about posting it, but I've been carrying this John Lloyd custom shadow Dogleg Jack every day for the past six weeks....
I use it for everything, and I toss it in with my keys. That's what it was made for. :)
Sounds like it's a serious relationship, Dadpool! ;)

...
In addition to my mammoth Madison, I am toting this little guy as well...

Wow! What does Evan call that pattern - stylish stiletto??

I finally got a chance to slip one of my new 85's in the pocket today. What a sweet, slim carry this single blade is, WOW! :D

Brand new 85, first canvas micarta covers, lovin it!!!

The middle one seems a bit different than the others. :)

Congrats on the notable new 85s, Ron and Jeff and GuestWho! I think I've only seen single spearpoint models; is that the only option in this run?

Sensational Texas Jack, Kris! Putting it in pics with the calendar is inspired! Very enjoyable photos!

...
Thanks GT, great pic of your multitude of multi-tools :)
...
Pretty standard carry for me today, the A.G. Russell Premium is one of my favorite scouts though. Happy Friday all!

Thanks, Tom ("multitude of multi-tools" is very mellifluous ). :) Another fetching black/white combo!

Using this to introduce myself. This is my first time participating in a forum. To make it short, I love stockmans with punches, hence the username and I'm a big boxing fan. I dunno, though I don't use it often, the punch blade appeals to me more than a Spey. This one has been my companion for almost five years now. I do dabble in other patterns as well, mostly Jackknife variations....
Welcome, PinB! ;) Nice photo.

My Wheatley Brothers Tacklers' Knife
...
Wonderful knife, Jack! Are the covers wood or horn?

For the past couple days it's been this newly sanded Opinel no.7 & Erickson Zulu
...
tumblr_o499td9DEq1rzq6m9o1_1280.jpg
That Erickson is awe-inspiring, Tim! What mod(s) do you have in store for your faithful Opinel??

...
I have this recent acquisition in my pocket today. '08 Northfield Scout. :D Hope you all have a good one!

25271984014_3f8d81409e_b.jpg
Congrats on the new-to-you 73, Ron; I've seen and admired it in several threads! I don't think I've seen a blade open shot yet; drop point?

...
There are just tons of great looking knives every day here. I love it. Today I have a little stag and a little bone to mix things up. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Love the stag Peanut! Who made that fantastic swayback?

Well...I guess the flu shot doesn't always work. I've been down and out since Tuesday night and still feel pretty wonky today.
...
I'm just laying back playing with a Vic Voyager Lite today.
yoqLni3l.jpg

Have a good day everyone.
Ken K.
Hope you're healthy again ASAP, Ken! Interesting high-tech Vic; can you connect to BladeForums on that little digital display?? :p

...
Undecided GT - only owned the soup bone once - Todd used to own it. ;):) Nice pun on the punches and I think that mathematical scrimshaw suits you perfectly. Math was always my best subject through school. ;):D
...
Thanks for straightening me out on the "lineage" of that antique amber soup, Primble! These days, when I think something is memorable, it doesn't necessarily mean that what I remember bears any resemblance to reality! :o The punch pun was fast fun. Thanks for the kind words on math matters. I think my best subject in school started out as "recess", but they didn't give me recess after 8th grade! :(

Nice pic, A.L.; your new opener is cool!

...
Today's carry is one of my more heavily used TCs. Photographed with a 116 year-old coin I got in change (!) yesterday.

Beautiful TC, Dean! But what's the story behind the coin?? Are you claiming you got that in normal American commerce in 2016, or did Primble take you for a ride in his fabled time-machine??

...
Just sharpened this City Knife today, and it "thanked" me with a little bite after. Just enough to remind to be more attentive with it ;).

Another handsome pair, Tom! Sorry the knife "bit" you; more indication that fixed blades are simply not to be trusted! :grumpy:

...
Stag Saturday pair.

Standout stag, Steve!

...
Robeson curvy

8091841566_747437b5ca_b.jpg
Rapturous Robeson, Gev (and impressive, curly shavings)!

Beautiful buffalo covers, Brett (and very cool knights, too)!

Todays carry and most every day too.
...
Then the mail person brought me a little Coyote and it gets the pictures taken and into my watch pocket. Lot of CF & CE with it later. It is a LITTLE jewel.

Harry
Congrats on the "prototy" Coyote, Harry! That's a terrific trio!

Fine job on the blade reprofile, Ken!

It's the weekend, so my weekly schedule is out the window, and I'm carrying knives I don't want to wait for to show up on the 12-week schedule! :D Here are some I enjoyed pocketing today:

Thanks for the knife comments, GT.

Not just a claim on the coin. I was in a store buying something and as the clerk was fumbling in the drawer for change, I thought "I hope I get another copper cent." Those are the ones before 1982. When I looked at the change, I saw the Indian Head was one of the cents. Talk about a shock! That's the oldest coin by far I have ever received it in change - it pays to check. I think somebody's coin collection got raided.

I like the look of that Land Shark. Looks like it has a huge EO notch.

I love a John Lloyd knife, have owned a few, but they are always too pretty for me to use. This one came into my hands recently, and it is still too pretty to use, but I'm working through that :) I honestly would have ordered something like this as a custom for myself, but just got lucky enough to find it for sale used.

Ebony serpentine shadow--truly sunken joint--bar shield--half stops--and a thinly ground CPM-154 blade. Love it!

Gary - The 85's were made in single blade spear, and double blade with spear and coping blade. Both styles were offered with flat and saber grind spear options.

The Northfield 73 is new to me, but being a '08 model is not new. It is a drop point. :D

I am glad to see you enjoying that Sowbelly. It is a great pattern.:thumbup:

Ron
Thanks my friend!! Love the stag 73. You sure do love that patten and now you have me looking..lol.

Gary

Glad to see that Sow as well. A fine knife indeed. I thought about you.... I found a movie at Goodwill called "Proof"; with all the mathematics talk I picked it up...what a great movie:thumbup::thumbup:

Excellent pic Dan, and two more great knives

Double TC's for me today :)

Thanks JB.
I need to get my first TC sometime here. Just seen them beauties such as yours makes me keep the hunt going for one!

Thanks, Dan.:) Very cool photo; that little dog looks incredibly magisterial as he gazes imperially over his domain!:D

The Rough Rider little stockman with the mathematical scrimshaw:

yezW6Vnl.jpg

- GT

I nicknamed him "Captian Adventure" due to his conquering tendancies.

Great line up GT! Really like that Scrimshaw!

I'm partial to the fluffy white, but the canvas micarta is pretty good looking, too.

Going natural today (the knives - not me!).

Hahaha. Good call Dean but it looks like you got your Micarta bases covered!! Very nice.

Nice Tim. Did the same to my No 7 last week as well. Lightly sanded and some bee's wax worked into the wood. Gorgeous Zulu as well.

Great sunny day for a walk ...

Today, tomorrow and for the near future it'll be the 2015 CSC Serpentine Jack and the Bark River/Loveless City Knife with Wharncliffe blade.

wow!!!

Thanks guys, unfortunately it's an older picture, I can't wait for the snow to melt :).

While we wait what about some of your little animal carvings? And if the green courthouse whittler is around, no one is gonna complain ;))

I'm still with my faithful whittler

Jack - Seeing this WBT just makes me feel good every time you post it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :)

Many thanks Ron, you're very kind :) If I get a chance to upload the pics I took in Bradford Industrial Museum yesterday, I'll post a few in the Sunday thread :)

That WBT is very cool. Great pictures too.

Thanks a lot Jason

And what an end to a great Barlow week! :)

Well...I guess the flu shot doesn't always work. I've been down and out since Tuesday night and still feel pretty wonky today.

Hope you're feeling better soon Ken

Very very nice Wheatly Brothers Mr. Jack ! I have a few of those old thread spoolers - at least that was what was wound on mine when I found them. :D

Thank you sir :)

Fantastic that's still in circulation :) Great-looking Barlow too

Just sharpened this City Knife today, and it "thanked" me with a little bite after. Just enough to remind to be more attentive with it ;).

Great knives Tom  My Tackler stuck me in the thumb yesterday  :D

Wonderful knife, Jack! Are the covers wood or horn?

Thanks GT, the covers are horn, I've given them a bit of a polish since that pic was taken

How are you finding the Landshark, pretty handy knife I think?

Very stylish

JB.

Thank you sir, hope you had a great walk :)
