BRKT Little Creek, Case Medium Stockman

Nice pair Mike. Oh how I miss my Little Creek I sold. What a great stout little blade.

Trying this 57 out today

I've always like those GEC fixed blades. Looks like a hard working fixed blade Sodbuster.

SBJ today again.

Welcome back, Jack; a fine trio you posted! And if the photos are recent, it looks like you had at least SOME decent weather by the sea!

Jack
Smashing photos!!! I'm envious of that location...wow!

Nice Radio Jack, Jack. And it is always good to see your latest photo of the rope knife.

Thanks a lot guys :) The weather was better than the forecast, Friday being particularly nice, but later in the weekend there were some very strong winds, and some heavy rain. The pics above were all taken in Whitby :)

Jeff snacks like that are why I weigh 220 lbs. But I sure do like them. :D

:D

Pocketing my Watchpocket Barlow today :)

Beautiful Davison!

Thanks Ben!!

It's been a while since I've carried a stockman. When choosing my carry last night I spied this guy in deep right field of my less often carry tray and thought it was time. Boker made JA Henkels 4" stockman.

Thanks Dan. That's a great looking SBJ! Love that Case chestnut bone.

Going with smaller carries today :)

Found on my doorstep yesterday when back home an orange bone humpback :)
I knew Santa is living somewhere in Finland, but it seems the Bells also come from there too... Thanks again Will, a nice surprise!

That "Big Red" is one great looking knife, Tom!

Thanks Gev, much appreciate the kind words!

Great pairing, Tom; I’m enjoying your theme! My alma mater is Purdue University, whose colors are, coincidentally, (old) gold and black! ;)

Vibrant red and white combo, Tom! (Do you root for both the Chiefs and the Cardinals?) What is that red knife with the screwdriver built in??

A sheepsfoot Opinel #8 (thanks, Dave)

Thanks GT! Pretty cool that we share (almost) the same college colors . I cheer for the Chiefs first, the Cardinals IF the Chiefs are eliminated, and was briefly a Bills fan when I was between teams. My Big Red is an AG Russell Cattaraugus Trapper I picked up in the early 90's, the main blade locks and is unlocked by pressing the smaller blade in towards the springs. I like that modded Opinel, looks very handy

Nice combo Mike

Blue, white, and yellow today to represent my beloved St. Louis Blues.

Today, I've got these (T-bone Tuesday, after all, so the Chestnut Bone made an appearance). And, lately I find it hard to *not* carry something with wood covers, no matter what else I'm using that day.

Great Barlow. Interesting photo!

I've been doing a good bit of whittling lately, and it really has let me put some knives to use. The Camillus Jack I absolutely love, it's with me every evening for any snacks I might have as well as any whittling or pipe cleaning. The Case stockman I dreaded as an EDC because it has very mushy springs, but it works great for a whittling knife. The stainless holds its bite a bit better than the Camillus, but takes longer to sharpen. Here's my first major whittling project, a little starfish character I like quite a bit. He's still far from done.

I quite like the sheepsfoot with a curve up at the tip shape for whittling, I find it very very useful. It bites in on broad slices, can fit into corners, and handle trimming away flats. Certainly my go to blade reshape on ambiguous secondaries like the Camillus had. It still cuts flat goods great too!

Here's a pic of some of my reshapings. The Camillus (small carbon blade) I like best for a secondary, while the other I use on single blade knives. There is a standard sheepsfoot too for reference.
