Found on my doorstep yesterday when back home an orange bone humpback :)
I knew Santa is living somewhere in Finland, but it seems the Bells also come from there too... Thanks again Will, a nice surprise!

Nice work Will  Cool pic JP :)

Beautiful

Looking good Tom

Great Barlow. Interesting photo!

Thanks, taken on one of my museum trips :)

I like this picture... is that a 1 of 3 (or some very low production number) 25 in frontier bone?

Great picture Sarah! Cbr, I listed that as a 1 of 9 but I think there were even fewer than that. Maybe 5 or 7 total.

Harry The 83 is taking on nice patina on the handle as well as the blade, thank you. When I like a knife, it's never too pretty or good for me to use unless i have reservations about it and may want to trade or sell. This one had me convinced from the off and it thrives with use.

GT Glad you caught the literary undertones, appreciate it:D Impressive because you are a maths head:cool::thumbup:

Gevo Nice compliment thanks and you are right:D:D

JP Happy to hear it's arrived, do hope you will enjoy it my friend.

Today it will be this mini beauty

Very old photo of the Curtain and Clark. That photo was taken of one of my walks around the lake downtown and specifically at the community garden called Deep Eddy. The handles are a celluloid I call topographic;):D Great mod on the Opinel. They are such good knives it was hard to kick mine out of my pocket but its always in my pack anyway.
...
Thanks for the additional info, Gev; I think I remember seeing the “topographic” handles before, now that you mention it. And thanks for the Opinel compliment; davek14 did the fantastic modification.

...
Thank you for the kind comments, Gary. You are correct on the GEC numbers; they have one of the more logical systems for model, blade(s) and year information on a knife.

It's a pleasure to see your Electrician!
Even I can remember how GEC’s numbers work, and I’m rather drawn to the “numerology” some BF members use to identify desirable knives with tang stamps (and possibly serial numbers on bolsters) that represent personally-important dates like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. So your single-blade spear barlow caught my eye because the tang stamp number read backwards (and ignoring the year digits) would be 1251, which is my birth month and year.

Couldn't make up my mind this morning so I grabbed this GEC stag #25EO and this S&M Winterbottom Barlow #69 A couple of bare heads just like me. :D

Sweet pair of knives, Randy! Making up your mind is overrated; “when in doubt, carry both” is my motto! ;)

Isn’t it strange how you pay no attention to a certain pattern for months/years, and then, for no apparent reason, you become obsessed with that same pattern? That’s happened to me several times in my relatively-short knife knut life. My current obsession(s) seems to be Case Humpback stockmen (and Case mini-copperheads). Jeff and JP, those are fine examples of Humpbacks! (I realize Jeff's is a whittler, not a stockman, but it still has that distinctive handle shape, and the big spear is a major draw for me.)

Here was today's carry in an Erickson Zulu since I knew I had something coming and today's half carry (single blade stockman) by mailcall.
Yellow Westinghouse Micarta makes me happy on a gloomy Monday like this.

Congrats on the new yellow Erickson, Tim, and on the Zulu, for that matter! What a dynamite (even notable ;)) pair!

I've been carrying the little stag #25 since Saturday. It's definitely helping me get over my aversion to carrying my nicer knives.

Stellar stag, Barrett!

SBJ today again.

“SBJ” must stand for “Superiorly Beauteous Jackknife”, right, Dan?:p

Pocketing my Watchpocket Barlow today :)

...
Thanks, taken on one of my museum trips :)

Nice “golden” Barlow, Jack, and I was glad to see this later unfiltered shot of the machinery on which the original artistic photo was taken; I can even see the exact location of the first shot on the wider shot.

...
It's been a while since I've carried a stockman. When choosing my carry last night I spied this guy in deep right field of my less often carry tray and thought it was time. Boker made JA Henkels 4" stockman.
Wow, that Henkels is an attractive stockman, Trand; distinctive jigging!

Thanks GT! Pretty cool that we share (almost) the same college colors . I cheer for the Chiefs first, the Cardinals IF the Chiefs are eliminated, and was briefly a Bills fan when I was between teams. My Big Red is an AG Russell Cattaraugus Trapper I picked up in the early 90's, the main blade locks and is unlocked by pressing the smaller blade in towards the springs. I like that modded Opinel, looks very handy
...
Blue, white, and yellow today to represent my beloved St. Louis Blues.

Thanks for the additional details on your rooting interests and the Russell trapper, Tom. Nice pairing in honor of the Blues today. (Congrats on their already clinching a spot in the playoffs ; the Red Wings’ playoff string looks to be in serious jeopardy after 24 consecutive years unless one of their goalies heats up! :()

These beauties today

That congress is splendid! I don’t remember seeing a large clip on a congress knife very often!

Iconic Case canoe, Gev! I’m on the lookout for one like that that has been used long, but lovingly. :)

Striking photo, Sarah!:rolleyes::thumbup: Maybe it’s just because Easter was yesterday, but there’s something “religious” about the light in that picture.

Schrade Walden 708 was with me for breakfast.
That’s a tasty pen knife, FBC!

Here are the two spoons I have at school. The big one is a piece of hickory I carved green that I use for a coffee scoop. The small one I just finished tonight with the Boker. A piece of advice; don't carve old seasoned hickory! My hands are worn out, and I put a pretty ugly gash in my left index finger roughing it out.
