Spending some much needed time with Cleopatra today. Enjoying a great friend, good beer, and some fresh bread from my friends bakery, all along side a beautiful creek. A couple of fish coming up from under the bank to catch some eats. These three in stag are with me,
Marbles Handy Hunter, Todd Davison swayback, Rick Menefee trapper

Looks like the stuff dreams are made of, Kris!

What are the red-branched bushes next to the creek?
Bob and Flickertail, those are a couple of dandy dark-handled Northfield Barlows! Ill bet they bring you some inner peace!
...
I was at the market today and picked up these two beauties along with a few others.
A Vic Soldier dated 1982 and a Vic Classic in sterling.
Have a good evening everyone.
Ken K.
Delightful pair of Vics, Ken! That market of yours must really be something!
Nice bevy of SAK's Gary.
... Looks like you have an Alox rainbow in your pocket today!

...
...
Gave me a good chuckle GT - not taken personal. Nice assortment of Alox SAKs.
Looks like you like the multifunctional aluminized Swiss jewel cutting devices a lot GT !!!!!
Thanks for the kind comments !!! The only person that I did meet that is on the Forums was Ken Coats . Had a nice conversation with him while I was there . I had never met him before , but had E-mailed him , but he is an easy guy to talk to and he and I probably will be talking again in the near future. I just have to figure out what I want to do yet.
I would encourage you to come over next year if you can. They seemed to have everything there , from Rough Riders to customs and lots of older knives too.
Harry

Gary - Thanks!

I like the green Farmer.

Today I am carry this Case 06247 Pen knife, vintage 1974. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for the comments on my Alox SAKs, Bob, Jack, Primble, Harry, and Ron.

I certainly do have a serious case of Alox Pox and am always on the lookout for Alox to keep mine company!

Harry, thanks for the report on the Badger Knife Show, and thanks for sending me info about it!

Ron, that red bone Case pen knife is dazzling!

Totally deluxe Fighting Rooster, GasMan! What are the handles made of?
...
The dark side with illumination.
Delectable, Tim!
Well, this week was thoroughly awful. My only impetus tonight is posting the week's carries from the camera roll and getting some shut-eye. Tomorrow morning I'll be reading all the dozens of pages I've fallen behind (10 pages just from the last time I read the thread marking replies!!!

), but I don't know if I can promise any longer to respond to very much at all.

So this is what I managed for sports theme week after Sunday's Buffalo Bills combo.
Monday, the NY Islanders of the NHL:
Tuesday, Georgia Tech of the NCAA -- by tradition, our colors were "blue and old gold" but the white apparently counts now:
Wednesday, the NY Mets of Major League Baseball (it's back, baby!) -- yes, that is Mac peeking in from the background:
Thursday, the Miami Heat of the NBA:
Friday, Scuderia Ferrari of F1 racing -- this was not as heavy a carry as you might think

:
Saturday, Yamaha (specifically the #46 of Valentino Rossi) of MotoGP:
Back tomorrow after I get some zzz's and pick a normal carry without themes or challenges for once.
Dynamite job with your sports colors theme, Tsar! Including the relevant caps or photos makes the display even more impressive. My unsolicited and free advice to you (and its worth every penny) is to do a reset as far as commentary on the massive backlog of posts that have rolled by while youve been dealing with life issues like work, plumbing, etc. Giving yourself a fresh start will give you a sense of welcome relief, Ill wager.
...
Very distinguished, Jack!
I'd say closer to shrimp than chicken, but the way we cook it mostly tastes like cayenne pepper.

...
Thanks for contributing to my culinary education, Rachel.

Next time you post about a crawfish boil, Ill probably ask you about how and what parts of the boiled crustacean are typically eaten.
Couldn't decide how to follow up Sowbelly Saturday, so after very little deliberation, I decided to mix it up a bit and do Sowbelly Sunday as well
Dynamic, desirable sowbelly, Mike! In my experience, sowbellies have lots of pros, and the only con is theyre tough to get out of your pocket once you let them in.
...
Totin' a few Catts today :
Mighty fine, first-class, foxy felines, Primble!
@ Gevonovich & 5K Qs : check your pm
Thanks for the link, Jolipapa!

Todays carry.
That looks like a simple, yet dignified, knife, Bob! What model is it?
This was the one that caused my heart to skip a beat or two and love traditionals in 2006. Though it is not the original, but a replacement as I had handed over the original to my step son three years ago and found I couldn't live without her. This was the model that got me to lay down my Benchmades and Kershaws. Then, I went to my first Case show at an Ace Hardware Master Dealer about five minutes from my home and that was the nail in the coffin for modern folders. Totin' this one. So, it's back to my roots today.
Cool story and beautiful Buck, PinB!
Thank you  Err...'Fancy bolsters'!
In this case the bolsters are fluted, but also (more unusually) coined. There's a lot of different names for bolsters, and more than one name for some bolsters. I was hoping to find a diagram online to post, but I can't seem to find anything
Edit - Here are a few types

...
Thanks for bolstering up my knowledge of bolsters, Jack!
Here are a couple of knives Ive been using in the kitchen this week (after they had some pocket time a week ago). A full-size Rough Rider one-arm trapper
and a Taylor Imperial little sodbuster (cuts like crazy in the kitchen, but it SQUEAKS loudly on every stroke when Im slicing things like apples, carrots, or celery

)
