Great to see that useful knife, Duane; thanks for recommending it to me!

Glad you got one to enjoy! It really is a great worker.

today, as most days...

This one has just become like a part of me, it just stays in the pocket day after day, week, month...I don't even think about carrying a different knife anymore. I wasn't looking for it to happen, but somewhere along the line I realized that I wasn't looking in the drawer anymore perusing my knives and deciding which one to pocket for the next day.

perhaps it set it's roots into me, or maybe I'm just getting older, but it is comforting to reach in the pocket and know that this one will most always be sitting in the same orientation that it was pocketed in. Something about the curved shape and weight of it. I don't even know it's in the pocket, so I check often, maybe I'm just reassured by touching it, while waiting in line, or pumping gas into the car.

HST...both of those look very well taken care of, have a great TRIP! But what will you carry on the trip?

The Pioneer knows exactly what to do after a hike!

I keep my Pioneer in pocket at the house for all tasks and one of those tasks is opening my GF's beer. It's my most used knife by far...but not because of beer.

For the trip I will be taking an #181116 SFO Derrick B. I found a pair of Puma Speedcats that I've had sitting brand new for over a decade. I'm breaking both in on the rally. I will also be buying a new SAK Pioneer while over there, because it isn't sold here quite yet. Members gave me that advice.

As too my knives. This is what the denim looked like after 3 weeks cleaned and dried.

Quite a difference huh? All I did was treat the knife to Mineral Oil and it's like new again. Both of the knives you asked about had just had their respective service. I'm a city dweller, so my knives mainly spend time doing mundane tasks. I use them, but it's hardly what most out here use their pocket knives for. I'd also like to add, the oils from my hands keep the Micarta nice and oiled from day to day. It was cleaning it that made it look that dry.

House knife with its flashlight and this week's knife choice.

Hope everyone has a great day and weekend! :^)

I had always sort of "overlooked" the toothpick until I got mine in trade not long time ago. Completely changed my view. Such a great knife!

That sounds hauntingly familiar. When I picked this one up, in the classies, it was one of those "that will make a cool addition" purchases. It reminded me of those Imperial knives from when I was a kid, we called them "banana" knives, not knowing any different.

I really like the look of this one, Ron; particularly the bone and the long pull.

Picked up this Lloyd last Friday, been carrying it all week and the 52100 patina is coming along nicely. This is one tough knife.
