What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

…I’m carrying my first WLST, gifted to me last year by Paul PMEW. Thinking of you mate

Distinguished-looking knife, Jack! That little clip blade is interesting.

…
Couple of great examples of appealing jigging, JSCHENK!

Supporting the St Louis Blues with some blue ALOX, pen, and shirt (it worked last round ;) ). Feel a little silly with a SAK in both front pockets in an office setting, but no one will know but me :).

Astounding azure amalgamation, Tom! And I think it worked in terms of hockey results, right?

I like that bold Imperial crown on the two-tone jack, Johnny!

…I am carrying my Northwoods Michigan Jack.

That’s a stellar knife, Erik!

…A new acquisition...

Congrats on picking up that beauty, J_Curd!

…
Thank, Gary. I don't use the bail, but I like the looks of it. Some bails are so out of proportion to the size of the knife they are unwieldy for handling. Not the one on the White Owl.
…
I’m carrying my new (to me) old Schrade today.

Thanks for sharing your bail opinion, Dean. That Schrade Barlow sure has distinctive bone handles; very eye-catching!

NF Barlow today. Love these knives...

Attractive knife, Macchina, and I appreciate your devotion to it! What’s the roundish object next to it??

I was totin' this Northfield Barlow today. I came in from work and took this with my phone before I got into the house.

Ron, Looks like we're carrying twins again!
I've got these two with me today. Been working on the Polaris all afternoon. To be totally honest, the slipjoint is really the only thing that really changes in my knife carry. I've had this KaBar on my side everyday for the last year and a half.
…

...
Ryan
Very handsome identical twins, Macchina and Ron; with Ryan's similar knife, I guess you have fraternal triplets!! ;)

Well I'd like to show something different than yesterday, but alas nothing's changed; still working on the Polaris and same knives. The only difference is that I got a new sheath today for my KaBar short.
...
Excellent sheath, Ryan; congrats! Does your 77 Barlow fit in that outside snap pocket of the sheath?

…I’m not familiar with Holub. How old is that one?
…
I gave the Coyote the day off and carried my SBJ today.

Iconic swayback jack, Rachel! I have no idea how old the Holub is; it, like me, was certainly not born yesterday. The tang stamp says "HOLUB/SYCAMORE/ILL. U.S.A.". Here's a brief history of the company I found (with no mention of knives): http://progress-is-fine.blogspot.com/2014/10/vanished-tool-makers-holub-industries.html
Here's an interesting thread from BF describing some detective work regarding the Schrade/Holub connection: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/665883-The-Schrade-Holub-Connection

…
I've been meaning to replace my first Farmer and seen that gorgeous OD of yours a few times might have pushed over the top to purchasing one... In fact I know it did. :D

Great line up GT. Especially like that Electrican. Is that a derlin or acrylic cover ? Really like it.
…
The Tree Barlow today...

Glad I could help you decide on that Farmer, Dan. :) I’m not exactly sure what kind of synthetic covers my Holub electrician has; I don’t think its either celluloid or acrylic, but I don’t know what “plastic” it actually is. I do like the maroon with black swirls, though. I like that Böker with the tree stamp on the bolster, too!

…
Dark red jigged bone Farmer Jack for me today:thumbup:

Thank you Will, you are spot on, the #38 is a wonderful and extremely useful knife. Maybe for reasons unknown it gets passed by but for me it's an ergonomic wonder and the pruning blade is so versatile:thumbup: …
Very enticing knife, Paul; your recent pruner testimonial(s) have me thinking I’ll have to give that blade a try!

not a good photo but excited to finally have a Doctor's Knife with spatula

Congrats on the doctor’s knife, jrawk! Will you be opening a practice soon? ;)

…
Slipping this #25 in my pocket today :)

Very nice, Jack! Is that 25s 2 days in a row? They must be habit-forming!:D

May the fourth be with you.
...
I always forget about this important holiday! :p

Day 2 of true traditional carry - carrying knives that were carried by our grandfathers.

Today it's a pocket worn two blade Jack from Case. Clearly carbon steel, presumably case CV? I originally assumed the covers were black delrin, but bright light reveals depth and details suggesting it's dark brown jig bone. The tang dates it to 1977, making it 7 years older than me!

…
Another marvelous family heirloom, Jeff; congrats!

Wow, that knife in the foreground is breath-taking!

…
In honor of Wooden Wednesday, I'm carrying this scratted bone Ancient.

Grand knife, Dean, but your comment confuses me! (Not an uncommon state of affairs anymore for me. :D)

Dandy Daily Double, Tom; that ebony Beer Scout is a real blessing!

For Wooden Wednesday: A sweet little Boker Jack in cocobolo, I think. I found it in a thrift shop, and the wood looked a little dried out. I'm giving it some hand oil, and it's looking better.

It’s looking GREAT, Rachel!

Terrific knives everyone!
…
I carried these two today. A Case Barlow and a Vic Cadet II.

…
Ken K.
As usual, same to you, Ken! That Barlow/Cadet II pairing has real star power!

Hope everyone had a good one! :D

Looks better every time you post it, Ron!

So many beautiful knives posted lately!

I have been carrying the presidential the past couple of days. I forgot just how much I love this knife.

Always happy to see that one, Erik!

Day 3 of inherited traditionals in the pocket - today it's a Camillus New York camp knife with red jigged delrin covers. It has carbon blades, brass liners, and what I think are steel bolsters, but they could be nickel. Insane snap on every single one of the tools. I can't wait for GEC to make a camp knife of this size.

You gotta love handsome natural patina. I think the tang stamps falls in the 1960-1976 range.

NICE Camillus Jeff . I have a similar knife of unknown vintage.

Carrying my Blues on game days until my mojo stops working :).

Astounding azure amalgamation, Tom! And I think it worked in terms of hockey results, right?

Thanks GT! My Blues pair seems to work, so I am going to continue to carry it on game days until it runs out of luck. Outstanding Canoe, more pics of that in the future please and thank you :).

Also A+ Alliteration Again sir

Thank you, GT!

The comment about carrying a bone handled knife on wooden Wednesday was meant as humor. I must have missed on that one.

I still enjoy seeing the bone on those Rough Rider's you've got, GT!

I'm carrying this Cattaraugus Barlow today (after some internal cleaning and TLC). It's small, light and easy to carry.

Nice find r8shell

Great knife! I tried to find one a while back but they seem to go for a premium these days.

I've been carrying this Ebony #25 pretty regularly for a couple weeks now. This has easily become one of my favorite patterns.

I agree with you on the Mauser my friend, a great knife  I was stunned when I saw the prices they're going for these days  See if you can get hold of a German Army Knife, lacks the clip blade of the Mauser, but is a heck of a lot less expensive

That's a beautiful #25

Cool pic

I like the 25 pattern a lot :) Really glad Paul introduced me to it

I learned something new about the Schrade-Wostenholm line from Stan Shaw today. I didn't realise that some of the knives were carbon steel, and that they were genuinely made in Sheffield (unlike the ones which had blades made by Camillus). Stan actually made some of them himself when he worked for Wostenholm, and he showed me one of the Stockman patterns that he'd made :)

The comment about carrying a bone handled knife on wooden Wednesday was meant as humor.

...

It made me chuckle my friend :D  Lovely old Barlow

A very long day today, and I'm tired and aching from it, but as well as a chat with Stan Shaw, I got to have lunch in one of my favourite pubs, and picked up half a dozen old Sheffield knives :) I had this old William Rodgers (another firm Stan worked for at one time) in my pocket

Showed up today, and right into my pocket. I wasn't sure if I'd carry it, but after holding it, it's too good not to.

image_zpsg64hnan2.jpeg

Thanks, GT! I've always loved the saber ground clip blades that Buck uses. They sure do know how to make a pretty clip!

As always...

Beautiful, as always...

Terrific knives everyone!

Thanks for the comments on the linoleum knife Jack and Gary. There was no shingle cutting with that one Gary and thanks for the comment on the Buck as well.

I carried these two today. A Case Barlow and a Vic Cadet II.

Have a very pleasant evening everyone!

Ken K.

That is some beautiful bone on that barlow!

Hope everyone had a good one! :D

That Osage just keeps getting better and better!

Bought the 83 Purple Sage from Jamie on the Exchange, so pleased! But he generously included a fine Wostenholm Sleeveboard as well! Hallmark of Greatness, thank you Jamie:thumbup::thumbup:

IMG_4021.jpg

That wostenholm is one sleek sleeveboard!

Jack, that William Rodgers looks phenomenal!

Crosscut mammoth Willamette Whittler in my pocket today.

That is some stunning mammoth you e got there!
