What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Man o man...this is the first acrylic I've gotten from GEC, and it's out of this world interesting...

I don't typically go for acrylics, but that new snakeskin pattern is really nice. You got a beauty Joe.

Lovely old Barlow

A very long day today, and I'm tired and aching from it, but as well as a chat with Stan Shaw, I got to have lunch in one of my favourite pubs, and picked up half a dozen old Sheffield knives :) I had this old William Rodgers (another firm Stan worked for at one time) in my pocket

Thanks, Jack! Nice sleeveboard. I look forward to seeing the "half dozen old Sheffield knives" the next time you do a kitchen table photo essay. :)

Great photo of an iconic GEC jack knife!

I went on an incredible hike today and carried the 77.

Great photo of that knife. Beautiful scenery there, Erik!

I also admire that little Catt Barlow of yours; I don't know anything about how most things are made, so the small cursive script on the bolster of your knife seems a totally amazing engineering marvel to me!!

Thanks, Gary! It certainly is unusual for a bolster stamp. One of the things that make it so charming.

Today, we had the official opening of a new Metro Park just 2 miles from my condo. I hiked a few trails and got some nature education from one of our local Naturalists. To celebrate I carried a recent acquisition.

The knife.

A small view of one of the trails in the park.

Thanks Dean, it is so long since I did a kitchen table sweep that many items have been and gone (gifted)! :D A long session really is overdue! :o Sounds like you had a great day today

My first and only GEC is acrylic, and I've found I love the material quite a bit. It just...works I guess. Plus it draws attention and compliments.

Very nice all!!

Thanks for the comments Gary and Erik.

That Cattaraugus Barlow is a beauty Dean.

Today I went with a nice old Wilbert Cutlery Co. Hawkbill and a Vic Soldier.

Have a good one everyone!

Out in the swamp again today. I've got a Pine Marten family living in a debris pile just off the wetlands. I almost always see or hear them. Brought the Featherweight along:
