That's awesome Tex! What a wonderful keepsake from your Grandfather

Popped by the pub for a quick pint and then it was back to packing up my apartment. My new to me Remington .5 Congress is making short work of cardboard and packing tape.

Spending the day with my daughter, these two are with me

Bob Crowder Outfitter, CPM 154 full polish, pinned stag with ultra thin red liners, dove tailed bolsters, tapered tang, Paul Long sheath; Joel Chamblin whittler, Mike Norris "Fire Clone" stainless damascus

…
Have a great Friday folks!

Always a treat to see that stunning Chamblin whittler, Kris! And the post-bath pic with your daughter really took me on a trip down memory lane to the days when I had to watch “circus acts” involving plastic zoo animals during each of our daughter’s baths; those were the days!:)

…
Yes, just for a couple of years GT, there's a couple of long-standing threads about these knives (at least one in the Schrade forum)

Thanks for the kind words :) I bought the small narrow boat for Carl, but don't have his new address.

Always a treat to see your Taramundi
…
Thanks, Jack; I’ll have to make time to look up the threads to which you alluded.

Man o man...this is the first acrylic I've gotten from GEC, and it's out of this world interesting...

Holy Serpent Scales, Joe, the pile side of your knife is totally unforgettable!:thumbup:

…
Today, we had the official opening of a new Metro Park just 2 miles from my condo. I hiked a few trails and got some nature education from one of our local Naturalists. To celebrate I carried a recent acquisition.

The knife.

…
High quality knife, Dean; both its shape and its jigging are outstanding! I admire/envy you and your hikes; I have to make time to start walking as much as I used to a couple of years ago, although my hikes tend to be primarily on residential city sidewalks.

Looks like you're enjoying your new doctor's knife, and I certainly enjoy seeing that dignified Esquire now and then!

That spider is trying to take on my Viper. :D

Coyote and my 66 today :) Have a great weekend everyone

Bob and Jack, Nature seems to be fighting back against our tools, even when we give them names from the animal kingdom!;)
Bob's Viper and Jack's #66 look like they could be relatives, colorwise; fantastic knives and photos, guys!

...
Today I went with a nice old Wilbert Cutlery Co. Hawkbill and a Vic Soldier.

CjxO3tIl.jpg

Have a good one everyone!

Ken K.
Impressive as usual, Ken! I noticed that hawkbill is so massive you had to double the size of your little weight! :D

Got my camp knife monogrammed today:

0KTBKsah.jpg

...
Very cool! Speaking of massive, those camp knives are so big that you've still got room for your address and phone number on the shield!:p

I put this Viper in my pocket today, it has been awhile. :D

That's a winner, Ron! Are the covers basically the same red bone as the #77 Barlow you carried earlier this week? (Of course jigged instead of sawcut.)

Still in the sodbuster mood, different sodbuster
Classic sodbusters the past couple of days, lambertiana! You should post your Schlieper in the current "tang stamp" thread.

Congrats on the family heirloom, tex.proud! For some reason, that spey blade reminds me of a cartoon shark!

A favourite 25 in stag today - I'm still amazed that Sarah parted with this one.

Paul
That's a sublime stag 25, Paul!

Just sharpened this little jack up. I love it!

What are the handles made of, CDS? Very interesting reddish highlights!

...
A rainy day around here. I'll ramble around the house and yard with these two.

Looks like a matched pair perfect for rainy-day rambling, Gary!

Sweet scout knife and sheath!

Another splendid scout of the girl persuasion! Is there a Girl Scout motto, r8shell?

- no! It's not donkey-turd, or whatever someone accused me of eating last time, this is lean and wet biltong.........and not just me that likes it...

IMG_1745.jpg

- is there any more, Dad....?
...
Are those your cats, Paul, or do felines from the entire neighborhood catch the aroma of your biltong and come calling? ;)

Love those horn Jokers, G. Especially the top one. It glows!

I don't know the Girl Scout motto. I was a Brownie for a few years. (equivalent of Cub Scouts) When my class graduated to Girl Scouts, I dropped out on the second day. They didn't let us do anything fun like the boys did, and once I got a knife out of the deal, I lost interest :D

This wonderful #85 arrived in todays mail. Enjoyed it tonight along with my first Cigar and Fire of the season:thumbup:

That pizza looks fantastic Chris. We eat at a family owned pizzeria when we are in Chicago and it's well worth the wait:thumbup:

Paul, the pizza was fantastic. I ate so much I hurt. It was a great day. My wife and I took the girls to a territorial fair at a museum.

The girls put on a puppet show.

Jack - That is quite a nice duo, whoops, I mean trio you have there today my friend.:D

It's good to see the coyote being carried Jack, and your 66 is always a pleasure to look at :)

Paul, that is a superb example of a 25 Barlow.

Gary - Thank you for the compliment.:) Actually the Viper is Blood Red Jigged Bone and the 77 is Old Red Saw Cut.:D I might be a little biased, but I do like these 2 choices quite well.;)

Paul - The 85 is just a terrific knife.

Nice photo, Paul! I haven't seen that brand of cigar before, but the band really caught my eye (I've got a small cigar box full of different cigar bands, kind of like collecting beer bottle caps, I guess). I like the design of that one; hopefully the cigar was good as well. Good looking two-blade #85, too!

Nice snail picture Jack!!

Thanks Jake :)

Nice carries today, Jack! Hope you didn't put that snail in your pocket!;)

Thanks Gary, definitely not, I'm moving slow enough at the moment! :D Lovely combination my friend

Looking good r8shell

Cool pic :)

Thank you gentlemen, hope you both are having a fine weekend.

Been good so far Kris, Spring finally seems to have arrived here at last :)

Looks tasty Chris

Jack - That is quite a nice duo, whoops, I mean trio you have there today my friend.:D

Thanks Ron, safe travels my friend

I picked this up in an antiques shop in Sheffield the other day. There's no maker on the tang stamp sadly, which nearly caused me to pass, but I liked the knife so much I bought it anyway, and am pleased I did :)

GT, Ron and Jack, thanks fellas :)

I've another one today in Ulster Rugby colours - they secured a play off place yesterday! Yay!

Carrying this gem on Mothers's Day. It's posing with a strawberry pie that my daughter made for dinner today.

As usual, my Northwoods medium stockman!

The Outlaw accompanied me for the day.
The water is just about perfect to cool off after a short bicycle tour.
Although you get plenty of weird looks this time of year, there are only some standup paddlers. (Which I never understood, why stand on a board when you could jump into the water? :D)
