What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Elliot, Whoa.. This vintage Winchester of yours is extraordinary and makes my heart beat hard and fast.. What a super find -- fantastic old premium jack!
Best,
Anthony

Thanks, Anthony. It was a lucky find that day. (Hidden very quietly in the back of a rather large showcase.)

Was that harness jack ever re-handled? I'm always leary to see two different pin types used in a knife. This one 'looks' like it has two brass & two steel?

Nope, your assumption is an error. Although I can see where you could make that mistake. This one is all original. All the pins are either nickel silver or steel, one of the two. What you are seeing is many moons of tarnish build up caused by old fashion sweat because I use and carry her..

.. When I first acquired her I had to bathe the gal in mineral oil for days to get the ebony re-hydrated properly again and to loosen all the oxidation on all the metal parts. At that time all the pins, shield and bolsters shinned up quite nicely, making it obvious that the pins were indeed not brass.

Anthony

Got This Remington Jack (R155)... What a great "Old" Knife.
Hard snap, Full blades, awesome color in the bone...imho

Jason

Wow Jason. Now that is a beauty. That bone is awesome. And the blades are full. With good snap? You have a winner there. And from a great knife maker. Remington. Beautiful knife.

Thanks, Duncan, Will, and Neeman! I know how lucky I am to have this knife, and all the memories that come along with it. My grandpa wasn't a collector, but he was a hunter and an auto mechanic who used tools hard and knew how to take care of them. To him this was just a pocket knife. To me it is so much more.

Thanks for the kind words.

My old remington congress R7848 (c.1920 - 1940)...been noticing since I stopped carrying the "modern" stuff that I dont need a huge blade to get the jobs I do, done. The 2011 EO jack is probably going to be the largest pattern I'll carry from now on unless I'm heading into the woods for a bit of fun time.
