What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Campbell, that is a real bummer. I feel your pain, but knowing Ken he'll make you an even better one the next time around. A janitor at your airport is probably sporting a real nice knife.

Going to a barbecue today so I'm bringing this one along. Because there are times that even a custom stockman isn't as useful as a good can opener.

Well......I WAS totin my Erickson swayback, which I forgot was in my pocket going through security on my way to DC. Luckily I live in Nashville and ever 3rd person has a knife on him, so security is used to it and doesn't have a hissy fit (I'm talking about you NYC, Boston and Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Then when I went to mail it to myself, the dumba#s people manning the desk had disappeared. So now my favorite swayback is hidden in a covert spot at Nashville airport under some duct tape.

Campbell,

I missed this post from a few days ago. Sorry to hear the knife is gone, but happy that you had been giving it pocket time.

Now I just have to figure out why those black helicopters have been hovering over my shop the last few days.

Ken

Campbell,

I'm sorry to hear you lost your knife. Hopefully it ended it with someone who will appreciate it. It did remind me to leave my knives and take my Vic Manager off my keys when I went to the airport earlier today. I was seeing my grandparents off as they went back to the old country for a few months. I didn't think I would be going through security but I left them home on the off chance I would be allowed past to help them to the gate. The airport personal instead got them wheelchairs and brought them all the way through.

Still carrying my Grandpa's pocketknife. The setting sun really gives it a warm look.

.. This is a knife I carry at least several times a month because its not only such a wonderful classic traditional pattern, but also because the great fellow who gifted it to me resides here in this fine community and is one of the best there is in here!. This is a knife I will always enjoy because of his friendship.. Thanks Mate.

Best to All,
Anthony

Chritian...that knife is just right, what a beaut.
John, just look at that knife, I believe that the worn look on stag or bone looks absolutely fantastic...and the bone on your knife just backs my claim up...what a gorgeous knife you have there, a well put together knife...look at the gaps-to this day there are none!!
Great set there Anthony, Im sorry to sway from the knife theme here my friend, but looking at the Western hawk...wouldnt it be great if they made a hammer like that...wow, that would be a cherished piece for me as well as my knives!....great set, nice Western too, if you ever get a chance...see if you can get a shot of those neat scales in a good afternoon sun...to see if you can bring out that deep natural colour?
Im sure others would agree with me that you Anthony....as well as many others here in this fantastic community are the backbone of this group-thank you guys.
Its sad reading about your knife Campbell, I wish I had a higher caliber knife to surprise you with to make up for your loss.

The past few days I've been carrying Camillus peanut I recently got. It is 2.5" closed in perfect condition beside some patina on the blades. It needed sharpening and now it cuts great. I wanted a peanut for a long time and this is a nice start.

Still carrying my slimline trapper. I also had my K.R. Johnson Sodbuster today. I used it to cut up some boxes before the pile grew too large.

This is all I need at work lately being on the CNC's...good for slicing rags, opening boxes and picking steel splinters.

Totin' the Maher & Grosh surveyor pattern that I picked up recently. I cleaned out the previous owner's pocket lint :p, wiped down the blades with mineral oil and oiled the joints. Great walk & talk and very fine edge despite the pitting on the blades.

Hampton "Lanny's Clip" and my Case "SBJ"....
Nice combo...imho.

A rehandled slimmed down Northfield 73 but my SBJ replaced it as soon as I got home. I am finding I cant carry anything else comfortably.

That is a great looking Maher & Grosh there Jake.
Jake...just looking at the main clip blade, does the long pull actually go through into the Swedge, is this just by someone taking that swedge back, or is it the same on the other side of the spear point? as I remember a thread about this very subject.
That is a lovely looking wee knife...just look at that...its got all the best of everything on it!!...big nice Swedges, long pulls, Ebony, N/S bolsters, and that cool shield....and the name that goes with it all...awesome, man how I wish we had more of those here in N.Z
Real interesting knife my friend
