A great day in the woods again. I had my Buck 102 special edition (5160 and brass bolsters):

My coyote was riding shotgun:

Since it is Mother's Day this weekend, I'll be spending some time with her while carrying this little Winterbottom Barlow she gave me last year. It was dad that made me fall in love with Barlows. It just seems appropriate this weekend.

Your wife has a great eye for knives. That is a beautiful Barlow!

High quality knife, Dean; both its shape and its jigging are outstanding! I admire/envy you and your hikes; I have to make time to start walking as much as I used to a couple of years ago, although my hikes tend to be primarily on residential city sidewalks.

Thank you for your gracious comments, Gary. I am fortunate to have so many parks near me and friends to hike with every week.

I really like the look of your ring opener. One of my favorite knives to see!

This wonderful #85 arrived in todays mail. Enjoyed it tonight along with my first Cigar and Fire of the season:thumbup:

Neat photo, Paul, of your new 85. I like the jigging on that bone.

I like that one, Jack! When you see a knife that nice it makes you wonder why the maker wouldn't take credit for it.

Today it's the post '33 Russell Barlow. Love carrying this knife.

Great looking bone on that Russell!

Carried one of my favorite TC Barlows today. I may keep this in the pocket for a few days. (Recycled photo)

I'll look out for a ring-opener for you Dean, I come across them from time to time, not usually as nice as GT's though

Thanks a lot. Yes, for me it's always very frustrating when a knife doesn't have a tang-stamp, and even when they are great-looking knives, it makes them less appealing to me. I have quite a few, even one or two with tortoiseshell or MOP covers. Most Sheffield cutlers were out-workers making knives for the big companies, and many didn't even have their own stamp. Then there are German-made knives, sold here with blank tangs, for other reasons.

Thanks Gev! That fine old Pruner will be just the job for bringing a crop of Strawberries in:thumbup: I'm really envious, my Strawberries are just showing ONE leaf here or there...well it is latitude 63 degrees north here so...

Thanks too to Jack:thumbup:

Will ..may the garden gods shine on your patch. The plant in the lower part of the frame is no where near as robust as the other and has me wondering why. I love that old HSB...thanks!!!

I hope so too :) I miss Pete :)

Wow! Thank you, Jack.

A pleasure, I just hope I haven't cursed my search for them - I once promised someone a pipe knife and they seemed to disappear for six months! :D
