What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The meat is smoked reindeer. I can't tell how much I like this little Tommi-puukko.

Tsarbomba - Very sorry to hear about the loss of your cat :( Great selection of knives

The Spring weather we've finally had here over the past few days seems to be holding, and I'm off to a BBQ party later. I'll probably end up stuffing my pockets with knives, but will certainly have my Radio Jack

Are those your cats, Paul, or do felines from the entire neighborhood catch the aroma of your biltong and come calling? ;)

- yessir! The smaller one may be a cat, but he's the brain of a labrador.......food, food, food

Nice folder, think I called it road kill :D

:p - yep, think it's been called all sorts :D

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there.

Today is a Bob Loveless drop point in Lignum Vitae and 154cm, along with The Trapper, by Tom Overeynder and Brian Hochstrat, engraver. CPM D2, gold pins and shield, vintage Remington bone.

Hey Paul, nice to be able to address you by your first name now it's in your sig line (I'm a stickler for forum etiquette in not bandying people's names about when they don't choose to give them publicly themselves) :) My back is definitely better than it was, thanks for asking, still a bit painful. My left leg is also still a bit week, with a tendency to buckle, so I really hope that's going to be ok

That's a beautiful knife my friend, and a great pic of it  Hope you have a good week

Packing my oldest (age wise) knife today...it's amazing how much life these century+ old knives have left in them.

Looks spry for it's age Joe :)

Catching up on this thread after a busy weekend preparing to move. 5 glorious pages of traditional beauty, thank you everyone for contributing. For me today:

Love those horn Jokers, G. Especially the top one. It glows!

I don't know the Girl Scout motto. I was a Brownie for a few years. (equivalent of Cub Scouts) When my class graduated to Girl Scouts, I dropped out on the second day. They didn't let us do anything fun like the boys did, and once I got a knife out of the deal, I lost interest :D

Brownie Song: Make new friends
.................... But keep the old.
.................... One is silver
.................... And the other, gold.
Thanks, r8shell. Those horn Jokers are quite distinctive, and you’re right, the “blonder” one has some kind of luminescence. I liked the Brownie/Scout info, and laughed about the “get knife/get out” Girl Scout experience! :D

This wonderful #85 arrived in todays mail. Enjoyed it tonight along with my first Cigar and Fire of the season:thumbup:

h5n5sM.jpg
Captivating 85, Paul; 2-blade EO teardrop jacks sure are entrancing, and the bone/shield combo on yours is just icing on the cake. I quit cigars over 16 months ago, but when the weather gets nice, they sure are tempting! :o

…Gary - Thank you for the compliment.:) Actually the Viper is Blood Red Jigged Bone and the 77 is Old Red Saw Cut.:D I might be a little biased, but I do like these 2 choices quite well.;)
…
I am on a short road trip for the weekend so this is in my pocket again.:D

Handsome road trip Barlow, Ron! I can see why you like my Case sowbelly and A. Wright lambsfoot; you’ll soon have an English lambsfoot available for your pocket, right?

…
LOL! :D Thanks GT, I love the range of knives you're carrying this weekend :)
…
I picked this up in an antiques shop in Sheffield the other day. There's no maker on the tang stamp sadly, which nearly caused me to pass, but I liked the knife so much I bought it anyway, and am pleased I did :)

…
Thanks, Jack. :) Congrats on your new “anonymous” knife; the stag is exquisite!

2 Smooth Bone Northfields and 1 Old Catt

Terrific trio, Harry; looks like white beats black 2 to 1.

I grabbed the forum knife today.

Today it's the post '33 Russell Barlow. Love carrying this knife.
Glorious Barlow, Atiger!

…
Thank you for your gracious comments, Gary. I am fortunate to have so many parks near me and friends to hike with every week.

I really like the look of your ring opener. One of my favorite knives to see!
…
Carried one of my favorite TC Barlows today. I may keep this in the pocket for a few days. (Recycled photo)

Thanks, Dean; the ring opener Jack sent me certainly is fascinating. I can see why that TC is one of your favorites!

My Daily Bread

First-class photo, Will; must be tempting to make that your Daily Knife, too!

…A quick one in the nourishing rain

Heavenly hawkbill, Gev!

Thanks Gev! That fine old Pruner will be just the job for bringing a crop of Strawberries in:thumbup: I'm really envious, my Strawberries are just showing ONE leaf here or there...well it is latitude 63 degrees north here so...
I, too, was envying Gev’s fresh strawberries; I think strawberries are a month away in my neck of the woods.

It's a 2 blade single spring straight edge secondary kind of day.

Happy Mother's Day all!
Desirable duo, Erik!

This pair for me today...

Notable pair for sure, Paul; the matching bone is impressive!

This wasn't the greatest week for knife knuttery. I took photos for Stag Saturday last week, then from Sunday until the end of the week pretty much everything went pear-shaped. My cat passed at the beginning of the week which caught me off-guard because her vet was so cheerfully optimistic about her prospects when I first brought her in, so I spent most of the week dealing with that. I had some more nutsoid deadlines and a project I had proposed at work was nixed for reasons I consider silly but was not given an opportunity to argue. My wonky knee has been flaring up in a massive way, making getting around fairly difficult. Even my hockey team seems to be tanking all of a sudden. It's been a rough one, all told.

Stag Saturday from a week ago, a pair of Queens with some amorous avians:

With any luck, this week will be better than the last.
I offer my condolences over the unexpected loss of your cat, TB. :( It sounds as if your past week was definitely not filled with the optimistic promise of springtime, to say the least! I hope you can find some consolation in the marvelous stag you posted in a couple of your pics; my gaze was drawn to that superb canoe in the first photo, and to the little stockman in the front of the second (who made each of those knives?). I'm gonna try sending you an email.

Böker Beer Barrel Whittler

12F8871F-D013-46BC-8D7D-C975A5DC6B25.jpg
That's a sensational knife, Barrett! I, too, originally thought it was a Böker pen knife, but I didn't remember that being a model in the "beer barrel series" (a series which really appeals to me).

Fabulous knife, Jack; hope you enjoy the BBQ!

Two of the knives I carried "on a whim" for the weekend turned out to be on the scheduled rotation for this week; coincidence, or Grand Design???

One was this A. Wright & Son stag lambsfoot:

The other was this H&R mini-canoe:

A couple of other knives in this week's schedule include a Vic Pocket Pal and my JJ Martinez navaja de campana from Granada, Spain:

Wow! Great looking knives, guys and gals! I have to comment on a couple.

Will, That Lick Creek is just wonderful and that's the best looking loaf of bread I've ever seen!
John (Chief), That Dowell looks like just the thing to put in your front pocket. Very nice and an awesome pic.

I've got this Tim Steingass made EDC on my belt today, along with a few others that have been posted more times then I can count. :D
Tim's EDC is CPM-S30V (HT to RC-60-61) with stabilized Spalted maple, red liners, and a tapered tang. At 7 3/8" it's a real nice carry.
P1010281%201.jpg

GT Most kind, I am using it a lot now and the etch has gone. Nice to see the Little Green Canoe is still seaworthy,:D not bad bone on it really!

Gary The Lick is the lick! Thank you. Lyle did a grand job in working with GEC on that project, he and the workers at GEC should be proud of themselves.

The loaf comes from a new bakery 'Aroma Vasa' that's opened up in a fine old bank building. The woman who owns it and another outlet, actually won first prize on a National TV bake off contest in 2014. They do this sour dough, plus a wonderful Fransk Råg French Rye, cakes to order and weekly special loaves. It's not cheap as it's artisan but it's always sold-out. The staff who work there are very friendly and knowledgable about bakery items and flours and one Blonde is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, breathtaking:thumbup:

That spalted wood is an impressive choice of handles, nice compact size too, another beaut!

Regards to all, Will

Terrific knives everyone!!

I've been busy so not so much time for posts or comments lately. Thanks for the kind comments all.

Today I carried these two. A 14 Forum knife and a Vic Electrician.

I'm off to my friends camp for trout fishing and beverage consumption for the next week or so.

Fabulous knife, Jack; hope you enjoy the BBQ!

Thanks a lot GT :) As so often seems to happen, my friend was late lighting the barbecue, but I managed to grab a couple of burgers as I was leaving ;)
