What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Is that beauty #4? If so, I've got the very next one to roll off the line right here with me. :)

Yes sir it's number 4! My first GEC and won't be my last I see new addiction

Love that look.

I put this right to work. Sharpened like a dream shaving sharp (got the bare patch to prove it). This is the start of a beautiful friendship.

A friend of mine has a minor operation scheduled for 7.30am, and I have to attend to be his 'responsible adult' ;)

Spending the afternoon at home, Paige is not feeling well. This Jerry Halfrich Rounder is on my belt and out of the way until it is needed, Paul long sheath with full quill ostrich. Damasteel(RWL 34 and PMC 27) and some very nice stag that Jerry had for many years.

Hope Paige is back to full wellness real soon, Kris

That's a real peach you have there, wonderful stag indeed........stunning belt-pouch too

Thanks Paul, I appreciate the kind words. She has to get tubes in her ears next week. She basically has a constant ear infection.

One of these days, I'll own a denim Micarta knife. They just look so good. Well done!

Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to someone special today. I felt that my new Gabon Ebony Washington Jack was suitable for the somber occasion.

I don't think this old Unity Lambsfoot had ever been used, didn't even have an edge on it, and has a pull of 11 on a scale of 10! That good old steel sharpened up well though. and I can just manage to pinch the blade open. I need to take pics! :o And maybe get a cortisone shot in my arm! :D

Also carrying the Abbeydale Jack ;)

Auspicious pair, Jack ("Unity and Abbeydale" sounds very prestigious, too ;))!

Thanks my friend, diplomacy is something I'm rarely accused of! :o :D

That's an interesting Buck, not sure I've seen one before :) Is that a confiscated item there too?! :D
:D:D
The Buck toothpick was in a "Christmas tin" I bought a few months ago, and it's the only place I've ever seen it. The "confiscated item" is something my wife brought into our marriage over 30 years ago; I found them recently in our "junk drawer", but they won't reliably "explode" anymore. :(

...
Thanks GT! That is a cool buck . The pic leads me to believe you are up to mischief though ;) :).

My Wooden Wednesday pairing:

Thanks, Tom, but no mischief can be reliably created with 30+ year old "poppers". :o
That dark Beer Scout sure looks good!

Thanks for the tangential reading on Leibniz:D

You're welcome, Gev, but my head hurts after trying to follow that disquisition on "Existence"!

Pretty picture!

GT: belated thanks to your comments. My mother is doing great for turning 82.
...

...
Steve, good to hear that your mother is doing well. Your fishbones and snakeskin make a surprisingly impressive pair of knives!;)

layin' around the house today with this Kutmaster. Please excuse the buffing compound in the jigging, I was cleaning up the bolsters and shirld a bit.

If any of ya know the approximate age of this one, please, do tell.
...
Still a beauty, whatever the age!

Greetings Everyone!!

I've been away trout fishing for the past week or so. ...

Today I went with a Forum knife and a T.C. Barlow.

Have a great day!

Ken K.
Welcome back to The Porch, Ken! Looks like your fishing trip was worthwhile. Did you happen to experience lots of woods and sunshine while you were away that maybe influenced your choice of knives? ;)

Shorts weather means it's time to downsize! It's the stainless GEC 25 for me today. :)

That's a striking knife, Dadpool; the covers are fantastic!

I've been carrying my Opinel No. 6 all week.

Looks good, Barrett! I've been carrying a #6 all week, too. As jackknife so succinctly put it once, Opinels cut like the dickens!

Well it being Wednesday, how about some Ebony.:D

Everywhere that Half/Stop went, the Lamb was sure to go. :D Exquisite folder, Ron!

...
Wednesday's grainy goodness -- the big Puma half-whittler (4 3/8" long!) just arrived this week, my first of the marque, and it might not be pretty but it's sturdy and ergonomic and plenty useful:

Congrats on the new Puma, TB! Pretty serious Wooden Wednesday trio!! (You have a Coyote for almost every occasion, I think. ;))

Cigar Opinel

YJ1VQ7j.jpg

Mutilated Opinel #6 I made yesterday.
Dropped the blade to spear and shaped the handle, then burned it.

Really the thing that bothered me most in Opinels is the end of the handle.
That's a wonderful mod, A.L.!! The spearpoint blade is incredible! Did you change the blade shape by hand, or do you have power tools that helped reshape it?

...
I have a Boker today, gifted by the afore-quoted European forumite. This congress seems to get a little blade rub (probably just my technique, I don't baby my knives) but the bone is as good as any I've seen and I love their carbon steel.

Hypnotic jigging and ravishing red bone on your Böker congress, Paul!

...
I am also carrying red bone today

That's a classy couple of knives, jrawk!

...
Howarth Slim Jack for me today, this one sharpened up real quick

Very nice, Jack! Was that slender horn handle featured in your recent kitchen table thread?

Sunny, 70 degree high temperature, gorgeous weather today. I went with a bright pair.

Cheery pair, Tom! Great weather here, too, but I'm stuck inside for most of it today.

Carrying something new today.

Congrats on the zesty new zulu, Buzzbait; that denim micarta looks dandy!

That's a distinctive old Imperial with a classic clip blade!!

As always, I'm carrying a Vic Electrician and a Case chestnut bone CV Sodbuster Jr.
