What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, Harry, I agree - I think they nailed the dye contrast and the jigging on my knife, and I am rapidly starting to appreciate the frame and blade selection. I would almost say I consider the skinner the master on this; I wonder if Tony Bose was involved in the blade placement and if he intended that feel, given his stated affinity for the folding hunter's big skinner in these forums.

Absolutely love the blade profile on Josh's knife.

I still have no idea what to carry tomorrow. I'm at loggerheads with myself over a Barlow and a sowbelly, both single-blade.

If you will look at the Model No. , you will see a TB in it for Tony Bose having some say in the design . How much say he had , I have no idea.

Cool pic TB

Absolutely love the blade profile on Josh's knife.

+1

Pocketing these two today :) Have a good Friday everyone

Arrived this morning, difficult to take a shot of as it's an Ebony Shadow.

I gotta say, the Micarta did turn out great on those Eskys. I think a nicely rounded handle really brings out the texture in Micarta.

You don't by chance work in the furniture industry with NeoCon coming up, do you? I'm in the thick of it today with last-minute reviews and everybody becoming Industrial Designers for the week...

Trimming lots of fabric and shaping wood with my 85s

I've got to agree with you on the Esky micarta. I kind of like how the dye didn't take completely, so there are kind of smokey grey areas in it. It has a lot more character than I'm used to with the material.

Not in furniture, but kind of a parallel industry with the NeoCon show. I'm in sales for AV solutions for live engagements (meetings, tradeshows, special events, etc). I'd have to check, but the chances are high our Chicago office is involved at NeoCon in some way, whether on the exhibit floor, or providing support for the sessions. It looks like a fairly large show, and I'm sure your 85 is getting lots of work as it gets closer :) There's so much going so right with that 85... Pinched bolsters, match strike pulls, beautiful character in the bone, that shield...

...I still have no idea what to carry tomorrow. I'm at loggerheads with myself over a Barlow and a sowbelly, both single-blade.

I had a fairly similar dilemma, but my decision was made easier as this ebony single blade Sowbelly arrived yesterday!

Thanks, Kris. That's a trio of beauties you're carrying today! You know I love that Chamblin Whittler.

Work's been crazy the last few weeks, as we're in the middle of our busy period leading into a slower summer. It took a while, but I caught up on all the pages I was behind on, and as always, some fantastic knives and photos on display!

Going all black micarta today :)

LT Wright Patriot & Northwoods Esky Zulu
Long time, no see, Mike: welcome back!! :D Glad to see that even with a crazy workload, you made time to nab one of those Northwoods Zulus!

LOL! :D Thanks GT, just a bit of tomfoolery (I'm not usually one for naming my knives!) ;)

Unity Lambsfoot and an Ulster Scout in stainless today

Couple of vintage beauties, Jack! (Ironic that you claim not to name your knives, yet in the same breath, you name your foolery. ;) )

Good to see you sporting that blue Alox, Tom, even though the Blues had to bow out of the playoffs; must have been an exciting run for you as a fan!

You are correct, sir. The patina must go on! :D That is a splendid Keen Kutter that you have there. Are those ebony covers?
…
Thank you, GT! Two thumbs up on that Keen Kutter.:thumbup: I'm still looking for a nice Keen Kutter.
…
Stag and ebony on the trail today.

Thanks for the Keen Kutter kompliments, FBC and Dean. :) Here’s another photo, showing the blade of my Keen Kutter.

I just found out recently that the blade started out as a spey blade, and the covers are actually cocobolo, not ebony.

Dean, that’s a lovely pair; I don’t recall seeing that slender, tip-bolstered red stag knife before!

Thanks Gary. I do love the 25s but wholeheartedly agree that the 26s don't show up near as often as they should. Hmm..., maybe I need to start a new thread. They are a wonderful, stout little knife. Btw, that's a beautiful Canyon Creek Sunfish you have there. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for two blades on a single spring.
Thanks, Ken. :) If you’re taking a poll, I’m in favor of your proposed GEC 26 thread; I don’t have one, but I’d sure enjoy seeing what other folks have.

Ulster Sleeveboard today
Nice Ulster, Ernie! My first impression was, “That’s a beautiful knife with raisin covers!”

Yowza! That’s easy on the eyes!

Striking photos of gorgeous knives, GuestWho and lambertiana!

I don't know if I should thank you or not GT , but I will anyhow ! There are many people who have more and better Stag than I do . It just may be that I carry at least 1 just about every day. I feel good with some good Stag in a pocket . I only have 8 Northfield Stags and 9 Case Stags .

Harry
I suppose it's all relative, Harry, but to me, your being the owner of 17 impressive examples of stag covers and carrying at least one most days is noteworthy! ;)

Thirsty Thursday with the two #18s that came this week and the saddlehorn on its long-awaited maiden voyage.

Congrats on your commendable new cutlery, TB! I've been hanging out here for a couple of years, and still have so much to learn, even in terms of some "basics"; what is the name for the blade shape of your saddlehorn?

...
Pocketing these two today :) Have a good Friday everyone

Splendid pair again, Jack, distinctively displayed! The 2nd photo shows your Abbeydale jack as "guardian of the gate" into my idea of a Narnian entrance to heaven! ;)

Arrived this morning, difficult to take a shot of as it's an Ebony Shadow.

Congrats on what looks to be a very fancy knife, Will! Here's another of my basic questions about knives: what's the purpose of the spacers? I have a couple of knives with that feature, but I don't know why they're used. Do they serve as a kind of gasket between liners and covers?

Yesterday and today. Burt Foster EDC and a SBG from Hiroaki Ohta.

Always enjoy seeing your Ohtas, Gary, and I'd forgotten that you had that fixed blade with the astonishing "face" in the handle!!:thumbup:

I had a fairly similar dilemma, but my decision was made easier as this ebony single blade Sowbelly arrived yesterday!

Congrats, Mike! Is the blade signed by whom I think it is??

I think anything looks good with that Esquire, jrawk; very presentable pair!!

Gorgeous George!

All three are remarkable knives, but that Chamblin always gets me; thanks for sharing the photos, Kris!
