What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

#18 Beagle - This one still lives in its tube while I decide if it will be a user. It is good looking and I do like the long pull on the main spear blade.

Very distinguished ebony 15s, Dean and Ron and Dan! Splendid photos, gents.

More of this week's carry:
an EC Simmons Keen Kutter (thanks, Mark)

- GT

Thank you, GT! Two thumbs up on that Keen Kutter.:thumbup: I'm still looking for a nice Keen Kutter.

Unity Lambsfoot and an Ulster Scout in stainless today

Really good looking Real Lambsfoot, Jack (especially the bone)! I have a silly question: Why do so many have a "Real Lamb Foot" etch on them? Was there an influx of fake lamb foot knives at one time?

Ulster Sleeveboard today

That's a nice looking Ulster, Ernie!

Stag and ebony on the trail today.

Thanks a lot Dean  I think it's just tradition, as with Charlie's Barlows :) In the case of the Lambsfoot, I really don't know where it came from, and why Sheepsfoot blades don't seem to get the same treatment, but a few old Sheffield maker's even used a 'Real Knife' etch! :D

Anyhow, this one here is a little ugly but I sure like to carry it on hot day. It's only 3" and it's super thin.

When I noticed that this was from the same line of the rainbow wood Remington doctor's knife, I kinda understood where you were coming from, but it seems like the natural wood stretches across most of the face on this one. I think it actually looks pretty good. :o

Been a while since I had this Case Seahorse Whittler in my pocket, today looks like a good day to bring it along. :)

A wise choice. That master blade is fairly significant and the secondaries give you two options for detail work. I'd be all over one in CV if it ever popped up.

Another Barlow today. :D

A real beauty. I'm fighting a small internal war with myself over carrying the new knife that arrived today or a recently-unboxed Queen Barlow I've been sneaking around CE & CF while the day's carries weren't watching. :o

I don't know if I should thank you or not GT , but I will anyhow ! There are many people who have more and better Stag than I do . It just may be that I carry at least 1 just about every day. I feel good with some good Stag in a pocket . I only have 8 Northfield Stags and 9 Case Stags .

Judging from the photographic evidence, Harry, your eye (and timing) for that GEC stag is what elevated the crown atop your head. :D

Thirsty Thursday with the two #18s that came this week and the saddlehorn on its long-awaited maiden voyage.

Thanks for the kind words Tsar !!! I can understand why you like the 18s so much , but I much prefer your Saddlehorn !! I think it is one of the most under appreciated the pattern out there . I have 2 , but I never did see pictures of a green one . It looks pretty nice .

Harry

Again, many nice carries today from everyone:thumbup:

It was a Micarta day for me today. Just rec'd the Allegheny sheath for my fixed blade from Josh:)

Thanks, Harry, I agree - I think they nailed the dye contrast and the jigging on my knife, and I am rapidly starting to appreciate the frame and blade selection. I would almost say I consider the skinner the master on this; I wonder if Tony Bose was involved in the blade placement and if he intended that feel, given his stated affinity for the folding hunter's big skinner in these forums.

Absolutely love the blade profile on Josh's knife.

I still have no idea what to carry tomorrow. I'm at loggerheads with myself over a Barlow and a sowbelly, both single-blade.
