Again

Harry - Nice 92, can't wait to see mine!

Bob & Paul - Thank you gentlemen! :) Nice Barlow's by you guys also today!

That's a very handsome knife, Dan! How did you treat the blades to get such a uniform patina?

As usual, I have 12 or 13 knives on me when I'm wearing pants! Here are some that I'm pocketing this week:
Ganzo stockman (thanks, Dave)

Thanks GT
I gave it a hot apple cider vinegar bath to speed up the patina process and a gentle rub with Brassco polish to even it all out. :D

Super cool Ganzo stockman!
I didn't know they were making traditionals too. I've only seen modern folders from them.

I'm so glad I finally have some off time to enjoy this beautiful weather!

Looking good Erik. Can't wait to get the rod out this weekend! Only offshore but all fun in my books.

Ebony TC for Wooden Wednesday :D

Ron... You sir made a great choice. ;)

Ebony TC coming along for the ride today...

...
Thanks Gary, actually it's a table top, I hadn't been in our furniture store for a couple weeks as Ive been busy with our deck restoration business. I popped in for a visit and Nanc had brought in this really neat dining room set:thumbup:

Love the Olive wood Joker:cool:
Thanks for the additional photo info and the compliment, Paul! :)

...
Gary - Thank you for the kind words on the Barlow's!:) Wow, 12 or 13! You put new meaning to the term, Cargo Pants!:D:D
...
:D:D All my pants have at least 4 pockets, and I can easily fit 3 knives in each pocket. Add to that a belt pouch with a phone, flashlight, little multi-tool, and room for 3 more knives. I suppose I'm operating a little below capacity! :p

Thanks for the kind words Jack and Gary. It's a Cornwall from the 30's I think. Here's one I haven't shown much of but I carry it all the time.
...

That stag bone Rigid looks superb, Doctor! Is that a current model? I occasionally run across dealers selling Rigid knives, and have no data on the quality of the knives. I didn't realize they were US-made.

...
I'm not familiar with Ganzo, but that looks suspiciously like a Buck build. Are you sure you don't have a 303 after all?
...
You're probably right, TB. I have a Buck 373 (Buck Trio), a Chinese version of the 303, I think, and the Ganzo is VERY similar to that 373.

Thanks GT, I'm flattered :) I had the Abbeydale with me yesterday too ;) Always good to see your big Joker

Today ;)

Thanks, Jack. I couldn't remember the name you'd given to that stag; I knew it wasn't Excalibur, despite how apt that seems to me. :D I hope I can remember Abbeydale by thinking of Abbey Road, Downton Abbey, and RoyRogers/DaleEvans; memory is all about the associations! ;)

...
Thanks GT! I hemmed and hawed a bit on the Esky, but am really happy with it. Great pic of the Joker, is that a fairly thin blade?
...
The Zulu again today.

Thanks, Tom. :) The Joker has quite a thin blade for such a big knife; it's not as thin as an Opinel, but it slices almost as well. Another delectable pair for you as black turns to white.

Thanks GT, love seeing wood handles on a stockman pattern.
...
Thanks for the comments, AR! I have some other ideas up my sleeve as well. Stay tuned :)
Thanks jrawk. :) Are you hand-stitching your sheaths, or do you have some kind of "stitching awl"? Looking forward to your next project!

Stag 26 today.

Fantastic pen knife, Ken! I find that 26 pattern quite fascinating, but the 26 doesn't show up here nearly as often as the 25 for reasons beyond my (limited) comprehension.

...
While my work piles up and my shoulder screams unspeakable things at me for daring to move my arm, I find myself retreating to the warm consolation of Wooden Wednesday grain.

Good wood, TB! I must have missed something; what's the deal with your shoulder?? :( Hope you get relief from both work stress and physical pain ASAP!

I'm so glad I finally have some off time to enjoy this beautiful weather!
vSymZFV.jpg
Hope the kayak fishing was relaxing, Erik; nice 77 Barlow!

Princely pen knife, Ernie!

...
Today I went with a couple of small ones. A Northwoods Norfolk Whittler in mammoth and a Vic classic in sterling.

Have a great day all!

Ken K.
Small, but high-class, Ken!

Very impressive OO PPP, Travman!

Was carrying my 73 and 77 as usual , and then the mail came and I added a 92 to a pocket.
...
...
Harry
Congrats on the new 92, Harry! (And I see in another thread that you actually picked up 3 of them.) I've always liked a Dire Straits song "Sultans of Swing"; to me, you're a Sultan of Stag, Harry! ;)

Pocket knife perfection. :D

True fact, Bob; gorgeous! Folks sure seem to love their Northfield Barlows!

...
Today's carry.

Very distinguished ebony 15s, Dean and Ron and Dan! Splendid photos, gents. Dan, thanks for describing your patina process for that old Case from a couple of days ago, and thanks for the Ganzo comment. :)

Love me some Hawkbill

Heavenly Hawkbill, David!

Tough to put away the chestnut bone CV SBJr, isn't it, FBC? ;) I've designated other knives for kitchen duty this week, but for some reason, I reached for my Sodbuster to prepare breakfast on Monday, and I keep going back to it for food prep! :D

More of this week's carry:
an EC Simmons Keen Kutter (thanks, Mark)

Work's been crazy the last few weeks, as we're in the middle of our busy period leading into a slower summer. It took a while, but I caught up on all the pages I was behind on, and as always, some fantastic knives and photos on display!

Going all black micarta today :)

LOL! :D Thanks GT, just a bit of tomfoolery (I'm not usually one for naming my knives!) ;)

Unity Lambsfoot and an Ulster Scout in stainless today

I'm just a little shocked that the Esky kicked your Barkies out of your pocket.

Lol, a seasonal substitution TB. A leather pocket sheath with a fixed blade and a folder can get a bit hot and soak up moisture in the summer. And I am enthralled with the giraffe bone on this knife :). Back to my fixed blade ways today though ;).

You are correct, sir. The patina must go on! :D That is a splendid Keen Kutter that you have there. Are those ebony covers?

Been a while since I had this Case Seahorse Whittler in my pocket, today looks like a good day to bring it along. :)

I gotta say, the Micarta did turn out great on those Eskys. I think a nicely rounded handle really brings out the texture in Micarta.

You don't by chance work in the furniture industry with NeoCon coming up, do you? I'm in the thick of it today with last-minute reviews and everybody becoming Industrial Designers for the week...

Trimming lots of fabric and shaping wood with my 85s

Thanks Gary. I do love the 25s but wholeheartedly agree that the 26s don't show up near as often as they should. Hmm..., maybe I need to start a new thread. They are a wonderful, stout little knife. Btw, that's a beautiful Canyon Creek Sunfish you have there. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for two blades on a single spring.

Thanks Dan and GT! The fishing the past two days has been a bust, but I had a blast. Dan, I hope your weekend fishing goes well.
