What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Lovely lamb feet, Jack... and the knives aren't bad, either! :p :D

Today's theme was Titanic Thursday. No knives under 4.5" long.

All told, not as heavy as you might believe...

Out of the box and 'in me pocket'
This S&M Grand Daddy Barlow blade is as large as the 98 Whitler. I'll post a comparison later.

S&M #71 Grand Daddy Barlow arrived today and...in me pocket. Compared to my GEC 98. The S&M is ATS 34 and a wee bit longer, but the Camp knife is much beefier.

Looks like I have to separate out my quotes for these ongoing issues...

Still a great trio, TB ; what's the significance (if any) of the rocks appearing as photo props?

They are pieces of coral, found pretty much everywhere in the Sunshine State. In this particular case, the rocks were doing the propping - of the 'yote so I could stand it up for the photo. :D

That Joker is pretty way beyond its price point. Always love seeing it.

I have been carrying the Esky Zulu for the last week, trying to warm up to it.

Those covers give me a pretty warm feeling. :o

Just had soup for lunch with this TC in my pocket.

Another world-class TC.

These two seemed right together. The peanut is new and I figured he'd be lonely if he was stag.

The amber jigged bone does seem to go well with a lot of stag knives. I noticed this pairing up my #75 with this Queen cigar in burnt stag. Very useful pairing.

That peanut is pretty awesome, good snag!

I hate denim right now, so it is shorts day!

Swiss champ in my murse as usual, classic in the pocket.

Today was a Stockman day for me (2012 Case 63090 SS Medium Stockman, to be exact).

What a mess lately: can't access and now multiple postings...let's hope this makes it:rolleyes:

Ron I'm telling you, that Dark Wood Gem is superb. Looks like Jet it's so sleek. I'm keeping a keen-eye out for one, need the set you see. In the meantime, you can send me yours for 'assessment' :D:D

It'll be my Canal St Forum Knife for me today, I don't dare try posting a pic as I think the forum still has problems. all I can add about the knife is that it has amazing whorls.:thumbup

:
OK let's 'risk' it:D

Hope there aren't too many broken PCs lying around today ;) Maybe, one day day in the future, BF will function like other forums

I'm away on the mainland staying with family friends just outside Carlisle for a couple of nights before making our way to Belfast to stay with the inlaws. We'll be there for a week-ish.

Have a safe trip Paul, hope you geta chance to re-visit some of your old haunts  Looks like you have all the pocket cutlery you'll need

Thanks for the comments, Jack; someday I'd like to find another vintage Barlow to keep that one company. Your use of "eclectic" indicates that I succeeded in posting a set of knives totally lacking a unifying theme! :D
Your sleeveboard and tackler's knife are certainly a venerable pair!

...

Classy pair of Lambsfoots (feet?), Jack! (Although my strained brain took up the refrain, "Mary had two little lambs...)

I hope you do GT :) I'd be glad to find ONE, all the old Sheffield Barlows seem to have been exported! :D Thanks for your kind words my friend, it's always great to see your Joker

Nicely captured Erik

Excellent pic of a great-looking Barlow Bob

Both are good looking knives, Jack; I favor the ebony (?). With the dozen knives in your bag, I think you have officially passed GT in "the most Traditional knives carried at one time" competition!

...

Thanks Dean, me too :) I should have taken a pic really - I came back home with a lot more! :D I had my Anniversary Charlow with me, nice to see yours my friend :)

Nice pairing

Lovely Grohmann Ken :) I have a Wenger like that, it's been on a lot of travels with me :)

Jack - Thanks, they do compliment each other quite well, as does that pair your are traveling with today! Sounds like a great trip my friend! Wow, maybe someday! :D

I have this Dark Wood Gem today. :)

Thanks Ron, that's some stellar darkness my friend :)

Nice

LOL! Thanks pal :D  'Titanic Tuesday', I like it! :D

I had a good visit to Arthur Wright & Son yesterday. John Maleham, the gaffer there, very kindly showed me around, and I came back with a number of nice knives, including this Lambsfoot in a special grade of buffalo. Fit and finish are superb :)
