What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

TsarBomba, I've all but given up on getting rid of fingerprints. My hands are greasier than the fry basket at Mickey D's.

Cannonball, that smooth bone pairing is just right! Beautiful examples of the knives you have there.

I'm on fussy baby duty. She's fine as long as you constantly rub her achy belly. My 25 got in the way of belly rubs, and shortly after this shot, she made sure to tell me.

I must be right there with you because that knife came out of a felt slip immediately before being photographed, so whatever might have been on the bolster would have wiped off as I was extracting it (barehead up, always) and only reappeared when I glommed all over it with my meatpaw. :grumpy:

Thank goodness my Barlows are a hardy sort. :D

That kid is obscenely adorable. You and your wife do good cookin'.

The link works, Paul, and that's a super pretty #25!

Google doesn't seem to make it particularly easy for most users to grab the inline image and post it/use it elsewhere, it seems. With most picture hosts, even without built-in sharing functionality, you can generally right-click the image in most browsers and "Copy image address" to get the URL, then insert it inside the tags or use the little "insert picture" icon in the post editor. Google, however, uses a complicated redirect system that does not supply an actual image address directly, so you can't simply take the massive string of text it provides and slap it into your posts. It appears Google has taken a few steps backwards in image sharing since they put the kibosh on Picasa.

I use Flickr and its "share image" dialog in which you can choose between pre-formatted [IMG] tags in a range of sizes from thumbnail to original that you can simply click to copy and then paste directly into a post. Photobucket has similar functionality but I see so many instances of it being down that I stopped using it a while ago. Imgur is another option with an easy-copy option for BBCode (a limited version of which BFC and other forums use).[/QUOTE]

Thanks TB. Hmmm... Think I might have to do some research and go elsewhere or follow Franks advice about a paid account for PB :(

That is a good looking piece of cutlery there :)

Photobucket is definitely getting worse Paul, I'm getting a lot of pop-up spam. Google is also getting worse too though I think, I was using it myself until recently, but it gets harder to use everytime I try :(

I know, it's so frustrating!

You have great taste my friend ;)

It's your fault, Jack - I kept going back to a picture you took of yours with it sitting with a cup and saucer and thought 'gosh that's a pretty 25, I have to get one of those!' :)

Arresting pic, Paul; that knife looks good enough to eat! Sort of like a fresh-baked loaf of bread, or the baked goods in Wurrwulf's post that follows... :D

Thanks mate, it's one of my favourites but I rarely carry it because of it's heritage.

Great sawcut 25, Paul!

Thanks Dean, I do like your Ragg bone mate :)

I bit the bullet and pay $10 per year to photobucket for an account. I decided it was worth that much to me to have an easy place to store the photos I use on this site. All the spam and slow response time problems immediately went away, and I didn't have to upload all the pics I have on photobucket to another site.

Thanks for that Frank,

I agree with Jack, I might just have to fork out for the paid membership and get PB up to speed.

Flickr also gives me 1TB of storage (just circled back to check that it hasn't changed), of which I have used "<1%" even using it as my camera roll, and the phone app which can be configured to auto-upload any photos you take directly to Flickr (with full privacy enabled - you can "share" a private pic but it only works with the direct link, or you can choose to make it public in the app or on the web site itself). That way, I've got an easily-accessible backup of my phone and tablet photos and I can click a few times to make a photo public, put it in one of my knife-related albums, and grab the code for any size preview image you want. It will also create a link from your preview image to the Flickr page where the full-size one can be zoomed in. I've used this more times than I can remember to check little details like tang stamps or even checking to see if there was damage present on knives.

If you want some help down the road with figuring out one of these services feel free to VM me.

Every time I see this I drool. Classic pattern with fantastic ebony scales. It's not often that you see such fine grained solid black ebony on a slipjoint. I would love to get one of these.

Thank you! I hope you find the one you want.:)

Looking good Ron

Thanks Jack.:)

Thanks Guys! GT, surprisingly (due to it being a single straight edge blade), I'm really liking it. It's been with me every day since it arrived last week.

How are you liking the A. Wright & Son Barlow? Been eyeing those closely lately :) I almost ordered one the other day, but an Ettrick and 2 Bolster Lambfoot ended up in the cart instead... Maybe next time.

Great choice :) Not surprisingly, I'm carrying the same one again today. Although for some reason, mine doesn't have the "Real Lambfoot" etch :(

I'm about to fire up the smoker for my 17ish lbs of pork shoulder for our Canada Day party tonight. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Mike.:) That is a great knife and some very good looking pork shoulders.:thumbup:

Whether it's Wednesday or not, you certainly have a lot of knives with rich, resplendent wood covers, Ron!!

Thank you for the kind words Gary.:) I like the looks of your #8 Garden knife.

I came to realize that I had not carried this Ebony 72 Jack in almost a year. Today I remedied that!:D

My carry has been the GEC #74 Mustang pretty much all week. I love how these covers change depending on the light, and the angle of the light. Here it is looking more orange than usual. :)

Great picture.

Got the Case 47 in my pocket again.

Thanks Gevo and Dean, it's a fun one to carry. Had it along again today, here is a pile side pic, love how aggressive it is. This one will never slip out of a wet hand

There have been a ton of beauties posted over the last few days, but Gev, that stag farmer jack is absolutely stunning!
I through the 71 into my pocket this morning.

But since I've been rotating the same few knives over and over lately I figured I would spice it up by throwing the Camillus into the mix.
I just LOVE that saber clip with the matchstrike pull!

I do like the match strike pulls. That's a fine looking Camillus, Erik. I had planned to take my Kayak out, the small mouths have turned on, but an eye injury at work has me laid up.

Thanks Chris. I hope the eye heals up soon, because we need your pics in the fishing thread!

Much appreciated, Erik!! That Camillus required an encore!! I have not been fishing in years and need to remedy that

These today . My normal 73 and one I found day before yesterday . An old Schmachtenberg Bros. Made in Solingen circa 1887 to 1939. I originally thouht the handles were wood , but I now believe that they may be Horn. Sharpened up very well.

Harry

Harry, your 73 is really developing some fine character! That beautiful Schmachtenberg Bros looks like horn to me too and I just love that shield!! Interesting stamp on the main blade. Can't quite make it out though

My Cocobolo Beer Scout arrived and I think im in love .
What a sweetie [emoji1303]
Can't wait to test it out on a cool beverage [emoji4]
