What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gevo, that knife you're carrying into the tomato patch today is a beauty. We're a month or better away from picking any tomatoes here.

My Lanny's Clip Junior from Brent Cramer will be with me today.

This one again...

Unusual knife, Glenn. Who is the maker? That bone is gorgeous indeed.

The Case is a fabulous knife!

Thanks a lot Gary! Your Cramer is outstanding and I like the money clip as well! I hope your tomato patch goes wild with abundance:D

Tom, Nice choice. Looks like you ready for most anything. I still have those little Bark Rivers on my someday list.

Grrr.... Photobucket has no been letting me upload pictures so I'm attempting to do it via google image for the first time...

https://goo.gl/photos/6PkN4kuGEeBb9jBx8

Photobucket is definitely getting worse Paul, I'm getting a lot of pop-up spam. Google is also getting worse too though I think, I was using it myself until recently, but it gets harder to use everytime I try :(

You have great taste my friend ;)

The flower shot sings, Jack! I love todays carry. I want to hear about the trip to Sheffield:D

Thanks Gev, the poppies are just a stock image I'm afraid, didn't have time to load up something else this morning. I picked up a few nice ones yesterday I think ;)

That's some stellar jigging

Two beautiful Barlows

That's a great knife Gary, can I ask the size?

Nice composition and a classy folder Paul

Great carry today Jack

Thanks Tom, I think that is one of my favourite combinations you're carrying today :)

Tom
The beer scout goes so well with that Bark River!

Jack
Looking forward to your finds!

Paul
That knife is a gem! Interesting jigging on it!

Hen and Rooster today

The Case is a fabulous knife!

Nice complimentary blade shapes TB, I especially like the clip point Case.

Two beautiful Barlows

Thank you, gents! You have no idea how hard I'm facepalming over the fingerprints on the Case's bolster which weren't immediately obvious in the light but are impossible to ignore in the photo.
facepalm.gif

These two are probably my favorite Barlows at the moment. The Case has always been in the running (and would probably be the indisputable #1 if it were carbon and not stainless) and I've really become fond of the IXL LamBarlow (Barlowfoot?).

That's a great knife Gary, can I ask the size?

Just wanted to say, that's a wonderful old treasure you're carrying today, Jack.

Thanks, Jack. The Lanny's Clip Jr is 3 1/2". Just the right size for my pocket. I think Tony Bose's LC pattern is 3 7/8"? Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Unusual knife, Glenn. Who is the maker? That bone is gorgeous indeed.

Thanks, that knife is an ATCO, Italy. I haven't been able to find any useful information on the maker. I know that there were ATCO Japan knives made, but they were of much poorer quality. This knife is really nice, and the bone is what grabbed me.

Very nice Mike

They still look great Mike

Dynamic duo, Mike. How are you liking that since lambsfoot blade so far?

Thanks Guys! GT, surprisingly (due to it being a single straight edge blade), I'm really liking it. It's been with me every day since it arrived last week.

Wow... Just wow! That is fantastic :)

That's one nice canoe you've got there ;)

2 weeks/2 Barlows, day 3: Wooden Wednesday edition.

How are you liking the A. Wright & Son Barlow? Been eyeing those closely lately :) I almost ordered one the other day, but an Ettrick and 2 Bolster Lambfoot ended up in the cart instead... Maybe next time.

I seriously tried to carry something different today. Didn't work....

Can't really blame you there. Very nice!

I'm headed over to Sheffield early am, going to have these two with me

I hope you had a great trip. Every time I see that knife of yours I get a big smile. Those horn covers are great.

Really love your photographs Gevo! Like the knives you post, they're always full of character.

Need some sunglasses looking at that one ;)

Carrying this Case 47 Stockman. It was a surprise gift from my wife 8 or 9 years ago when we had no extra money for these kinds of things. It's my favorite knife that I own at any price point and one I'll have forever.

-Greg

Great sentiment, and one beautiful knife! That 47 ticks quite a few boxes. Love that bone!

My Lanny's Clip Junior from Brent Cramer will be with me today.

Great knife Gary! I really like the smaller size of that Lanny's Clip.

Wooden Wednesday's carry was the Ebony Arthur Wright

Great choice :) Not surprisingly, I'm carrying the same one again today. Although for some reason, mine doesn't have the "Real Lambfoot" etch :(

I'm about to fire up the smoker for my 17ish lbs of pork shoulder for our Canada Day party tonight. Have a great day everyone!

I've some frontier today;

Arresting pic, Paul; that knife looks good enough to eat! Sort of like a fresh-baked loaf of bread, or the baked goods in Wurrwulf's post that follows... :D

Snuck away from work on this rainy day to pick up a couple of doughtnuts and a cinnamon roll. Hadn't carried the 'Yote in a while. Love how much this knife disappears in the pocket.

2 weeks/2 Barlows, day 4:

Earthy and felicitous pair, TB. 2 weeks/2 Barlows/2 Sizes/2 Cool!

The beagle's barking in my pocket again.

Glamor shot! :eek::thumbup:

Thanks GT! Yes that is my Primble, good eye sir. The handle material on the Shaerk is TeroTuf, which to me feels like a lightly textured plastic. It is contoured perfectly, and just melts into my hand.

I am totin' these today:

Handsome pair, Tom; hope the RR camp knife treats you well. ;) Thanks for the additional info on your Shaerk.

Headed to the beach house for the weekend. I'm sure I forgot something.

Impressive international wheel, Alan!

What a jaw-dropping knockout of a damascus stockman, Greg!!! Your wife has laudable taste!!

Thanks a lot my friend, lovely Winchester

Gary
Thank you Sir! Some interesting carries for you today:thumbup::thumbup:

That is one great looking Winchester!

It was the SAK Electrician that occupied my pocket today.
27932088611_44e54acd08_b.jpg
Thanks for the compliments, Jack, Gev, and flatblackcapo. :) FBC, I carry a Vic Electrician every day that I enjoy immensely, but your "old cross" version is even more notable!

Well, I'm back!

Hard drive died and I'm trying to figure out Windows 10.
...
I picked this one up at the market and have been carrying it for the past few days. I like it.

Have a great evening all and an early Happy Canada Day!!!!

Ken K.
Glad you weren't overwhelmed by the tech troubles, Ken, and welcome back! Congrats on the opulent Laguiole!

...
Today's carry:

Peerless pair of Twin Charmers, Dean!

...
I missed out on this run but still have this Dunn in my pocket to make me feel better :)

"Feel better" as in total ecstasy, Drew?? :D That Dunn is pure Quality!

I did not post get to post yesterday so I am posting 2 today. :D

Whether it's Wednesday or not, you certainly have a lot of knives with rich, resplendent wood covers, Ron!!

...
Thank you GT. Your a man who can vouch for SBJ any day!
Is that a clip on your Minichamp ? Nice. If so which pocket does it call home ?
Thanks, Dan. That clip was made by davek14, and I usually use it to hang the Minichamp and a full-size SAK from the outside edge of my LFP. When I first received it, I worried that it might be too loose or too shallow to stay on the pocket, but it has done a surprisingly sensational job.

This one again...

Glenn, that's a terrific knife with transcendent jigging!

...
Ok, enough nerd stuff. Back to knife geeking. 2 weeks of 2 Barlows, day 5:

Looks like a useful tandem, TB; I especially like the unique (to me) I*XL lambsfoot Barlow!

Such vivid covers on your Lanny's Clip, Gary; reminds me of glowing embers!

...
I grabbed these 2 this morning, have a great weekend all!

Yowza, what a pair, Tom!:thumbup: In the current thread about (tactical) knives as weapons, there's at least a subset of folks whose consensus is that "instruments of blunt force" are more effective (defensive) weapons than are knives. Your photo "hit me like a ton of bricks"!

A couple of knives I've been using in the kitchen this week are a Rough Rider "work knife" and an Opinel #8 Garden Knife I recently got. Both are wondrous, wicked slicers that are very welcome on my cutting board!!
