Jack, I hope you get some "real summer" soon. Thanks for the comment on this week's rotation. I haven't yet tried (nor do I plan toThanks GT:thumbup: I can't remember the last time we had a period of prolonged hot weather! If I'd known I was going to live in a country perpetually blighted with rain, I'd have emigrated years ago! :grumpy: Glad you're getting some decent weather yourself. The Oxhorn might be the only summer I get!

That Aitor Castor is very enticing! Is it the big, small, or medium model?
Oh, no! I've wanted one of those for a year and a half, but procrastinated!...
Pity they stopped making the Castor![]()
Fantastic four for the Fourth, Ken! (That would be a challenging theme for a month: carry as many knives each day as the current date!...
Since it's the 4th of July I thought I'd carry a little red, white and blue.

Happy 4th all!
Ken K.
Thanks, Dean; although it's an "old work knife", I think that Camillus is one of the most attractive knives I have. I wish I could hear MY knives speak to me; your pair LOOKS great, and apparently communicates well, too!...
Thank you for the kind comments, Gary. I find your electrician splendiferous! I hope you have a great Independence Day, too!
...
I woke this morning to hear whimpering from the top of my dresser and finally realized it was Coco the Slim Calf Roper pining for some pocket carry. So, he and Ole Yeller the TC Trapper Barlow are sharing the honors today.

This is as close to red white and blue as I can get, so into my pocket it goes. Happy Independence Day my fellow Americans, and a grand day to all our friends in foreign lands.

...
Very patriotic, Gary! (Why the term "Pinch" for some of those Canal Street lockbacks?)Yes, you've got a good memory, Kris. I put this "Pinch" in my pocket now and then. I miss CSC too. I've managed to hang on to a few of theirs. At this point I'll hang onto them for my sons, I think.
You take some impressive photos, sir/madam!!It's a wet and soggy Fourth here but it's hard to stay gloomy with a sharp piece of steel in your pocket.

Congrats on that new Navy Knife!Got it a few hours ago, straight out of the tube and into my pocket!

Terrific centenary Terrier, r8shell! What's the setting of the photo, with that big old "hitching ring" or whatever it is?
That sounds like heavenly holiday happiness!...
Good wholesome fun. Now I'm going to open a beer and enjoy one hot dog. Maybe two.![]()

Love that Mini Copperhead, and the beans and potato salad look fabulous (as well as the meat, of course)! Was the little hot dog and bun for the baby??...
I've got an American trio helping on the grill today. Robeson Barlow, Camillus TL-29, and Case Mini Copperhead holding down the fort. Lotsa meat cooked today!

My incredible wife whipped up some from-scratch bbq baked beans (made with only one CUP of Bourbon) and some lovely potato salad to try to balance out the meat fest that I created.
Hope it was an enjoyable trip, Jack; looks like you're adequately equipped for traveling!
Congrats on your marriage and your outstanding new Davison! Having your own be your favorite is a very healthy attitude, and I hope you and your new bride can feel that way about each other "till death do you part"! :thumbup:Thank you. And I agree. There's some beautiful knives in this thread but I admit that my own is now my favorite lol
Having a hard time deciding what to carry today

Attractive selection of knives from which to choose, Mateo! It's neither of those sorry.
As some of you know Taramundi is actually a little village in the NW is Spain that earned a lot of prestige for the quality of the pocket knives.
Actually all the frontier region between Asturias and Galicia has a lot of blacksmithing tradition and that knife is from Santalla(another village) and it has a more intricate design carved on the handle and then submerged in a shellac to fill the pattern, also the ferrule or bolster is more elaborated than in Taramundi knives, usually file worked.
Sorry the little offtopic
Mateo
Ravishing, Atiger! :thumbup:Old red bone Cattaraugus Barlow today...

Jack, I hope you get some "real summer" soon. Thanks for the comment on this week's rotation. I haven't yet tried (nor do I plan to) any up the sleeve, under the hat, or sock carry, but I DID see a photo in another thread of a gentleman wearing what you called "belt and braces" and I could certainly see THAT in my future!

Glad you've been working hard Thom  They asked after you in the cafe
Attractive selection of knives from which to choose, Mateo! My daughter lives in Madrid, and I bought a Taramundi when I went to visit her; I really like my Taramundi (with a scorched boxwood handle), and yours are also splendid. What is the handle of the Calvin Taramundi?
Thanks for the well wishes my friend, much appreciated! I think it worked, that may have been the best interview of my career![]()
.
It will be a few years, but I will greatly enjoy teaching him about knives. It will be a Traditional education of course.
Seriously, you're teeth are made from toffee!
...
Asked where your son was did they?
Hope you had a good visit...a successful one even?
