What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Salem Straub forge welded integral, and a sheath from the one and only, Paul Long, shark skin inlay

Kris, Excellent pick up on that integral hunter. Love Salem's creations. He made a very nice kitchen/Santoka for me and something for the near future.

these two today...

Picked this one up in a trade with RyanDalex, and, as a bonus, received this sweet drawing of the mark side!
The party, of course, is seen on the pile side. Business up front, party in the back...

Dean, how often do you actually use the Vic toothpick? - GT

Daily; frequently more than once. When I used to fly all the time I put the toothpick in my shirt pocket and the knife in my checked baggage. An indispensable tool for me. :)

Today's carry.

My latest, a slimline trapper by Don Hanson III, forged W2 blade. A terrific knife by a great maker.

What a vivid, verdant vista, donn!:thumbup: Who is the maker of that sodbuster?

It's my relatively new Otter-Messer of Solingen, and it's really growing on me.

Thanks Jack, sorry it's not letting me reply to multiple posts. It's 'The Cloud' aka Bosley Cloud a rocky outcrop that straddles the Cheshire/Staffordshire border about 5 miles east of Congleton. Thats Shutlingsloe and Mam Tor in the distance.

Thanks, 5KQs and Jack.

The handles on the Colonial will be wood, for sure. Probably walnut from the remains of my brother's whittling wood that he got from Gibson Guitar in the70s.
I also have some special wood from the sound bits of the recently replaced rotten floor joists in Capel Cerrig in Remsen. Fir or tamarack, I don't know. Also I have a block of maple that I got from the estate sale of a 90+-yr-old gentleman whose almost last act was to take down the tree, mill it, paint the end-grain and sticker it, refusing all help from anyone.

Speaking of handles, I have a Hibbard Spencer and Bartlett sleeveboard with cel somewhat similar to Jack's Morton.

That's a great looking knife, Jerry. I've heard great reports on Don's W2.
That just has to be a pleasure to carry and use

amazing - wow.
Thanks, Luc. I still have that wow reaction everytime I take it out of my pocket.
