What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A little Gem there Paul !!!!

Harry

Thanks Harry,

It was a gift from Pertinux - and was my second #25. Now I have many many more - but not too many ;)

What a beauty Paul. [emoji106]

The nextdoor neighbour has been helping me out in the garden, to do the job the landlady is paid for!

I don't really like this Trevor Ablett Barlow (that clip :barf:), but it's on it's sixth day in a row as my pocket knife, in honour of Yorkshire Day and it's late maker.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Thanks Thom, I like this one a great deal.

Love that bill hook by the way, I've been trying to find a good one but all the ones I see up here aren't tempered and would just slowly crumple up at the edge.

I had a couple of Abletts, but was disappointed at the quality and gave them both away :(

Thanks GT, looks like I'm not the only one partial to ebony (or any dark colored) covers. Beautiful knives guys.

Alan
You’ve got me pegged, Alan; I do like the dark covers. :)

You know, Gary, I don't have a giraffe bone knife, but I honestly had not thought about my Camel bone Norfolk...luckily it was home as I did run into some camels.

I see you are exploring your Pioneering spirit this week.
…
:D:D Thanks, Dean.

Thanks, GT. I would recommend getting one. I picked up the larger size first and decided it was a little too big for my needs.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Back to the Black Box stockman for today.
Thanks for the Douk Douk advice, FBC. Your Black Box Winchester is a superb stockman!

Thank you, sir :) It's their new CV line with 6.5 Bonestag covers. The shield is a cool shape indeed. Kind of a strange example on mine, as they inletted it a bit off, and had to bend the shield to get it flush with the covers... Still a great addition to my sowbelly collection ;)

I'm enjoying the last weekend of my vacation, and mentally wrapping my head around going back to work on Monday. I hope your vacation is going well, noisy neighbors and all :) You picked some good choices to accompany you on your trip.
…
Thanks for the comments, Mike; hope your vacation/work transition goes smoothly.

Congrats on that doctor’s knife, VS!

I know what you mean my friend! :D Thanks, nice Pioneer :)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm off to Sheffield this morning, to visit Shepherd's Wheel (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1229530-The-Dairy-Maids-of-Porter-Brook-(Part-1) ), and then go to see a play at a theatre I last visited nearly 50 years ago. The production, 'The Stirrings in Sheffield on Saturday Night' takes its name from a very old Sheffield song, and is about a period of history, known as 'The Sheffield Outrages'. It was last performed in Sheffield in the 1970's I think, and I was pleased to see there's a new production.

The Stirrings in Sheffield on Saturday Night
...

Thanks, Jack. I hope Sheffield on a Saturday (day and) night was enjoyable; the poetry indicates it’s a “happening” place. ;) Fantastic I*XL pearl pen knife!:thumbup:

…@GT - it's bocote, and some of the nicest figuring I've seen. I lucked out on the exchange with that one. :)

I've some torched stag for Saturday:

- Paul
Thanks for the info, Paul. That is delectable stag!:thumbup:

…This guy came in the mail yesterday. Gonna spend the weekend in the pocket to try it out.

Congrats, Shawn! There are a lot of those red sawcut 77 Barlows on The Porch; that must be an indication of their quality.

Here ya go again Harry!! I posted this pic before, I believe in the Stag Saturday thread but it's worth repeating for sure...

Stellar stag, Jake!!

An oldie, but goodie. :)

REDO2_zpspw7salfj.jpeg
Oh, my, GuestWho!! You make that such a photogenic knife!

Jake !!!!! Thanks for the Pile Side picture !!! Figured that I should have a little Stag Overload to carry today . My other 73 , an 83 , and Talon ...
Harry
Great stag, Harry! I’m in my 60s now, and can only dream that my 70s, 80s, and 90s will look as good as yours! :D

…For some reason, I decided to put my African blackwood New Day Barlow in my pocket this afternoon...

Dean, that spey-bladed blackwood Barlow is Too Classy!

This week and next, my left rear pocket contains:
a Schrade USA 34OT (thanks, Dave)

Wonderful knives today friends  This morning Ole Dixie went in the pocket. This knife carries remarkably small for a large stockman with 3 of the most versatile blades you can imagine. :D

I've found that the only way to use a knife that is either new or different to you is to make it your only carry. So far so good.

Alan

I received this 66 Bullwinkle in a trade last week and I've been carrying it ever since. I've never been a big fan of the moose pattern but I really love the clip/spear combo with long pulls on a 3.5" frame.

The Moose pattern is one of my favorites! You get two full size blades with different enough profiles to make each useful. Your Bullwinkle looks great!

Jack I hope you are doing well pal, not sure if you'll remember but Olivia still has the little pig flashlight you sent many years ago, also I stopped purchaseing knives about 2 years ago, so I could enjoy my accumulated bounty, but I will say every time you show a lambsfoot my pulse quickens, one of these days I'll add a Real Lambsfoot to my collection.

Early morning wild blackberry harvest, I have to compete with all the other critters

Pete

That peanut sure is a hard worker Pete, good to see you around!

Another day in the books and the Moose is ready for some R & R :)

Paul, that stag is outstanding! :D

Packing my Camillus Cub Scout Knife today.

Very nice, Randy! Goes well with the RA's knife you picked up a while back.

Did your boys do both RA's and Scouts?

Great photo, Jolipapa!

That's a good looking knife. I've been tempted by the #54 Big Moose (especially in Ebony) because I like the look of it and I also like that blade combination, but I've been deterred by the size. The #66 seems more reasonable, might have to keep my eye out of one of those.

I've been carrying my yellow #15 Barlow again today. I sat out back and did some plinking with this Daisy Red Ryder that my brother left with me when they moved to England. (I don't know if you're allowed a BB gun in England or not, but it didn't make the cut for the shipping crate of stuff they took over, so it came to me along with all his actual firearms.)

Went blueberry picking with the wife today. Took this beauty along as well...

Not sure it needed much help. ;)

All that goodness in one pocket?! :D

A NICE array of production and customs today:thumbup:

This #14 in red camel bone came yesterday and I'm in the early bonding stage with it right now...
