What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My trio from yesterday, a peanut as usual, my recent favorite the 47, and with hunting season on my mind I just felt like taking out my Amherst hunter... But couldn't leave either of the others home... A little over knifed for my tastes, but that was better than having to choose! ;)

Sent from far too fancy of a device for this far intro the woods...

Very nice Rinos :) Good to see you here, you been recovering from Earl's visit? ;) :D

R8shell, I love the scrimshaw on the white bone, I think it looks great, what are you using to mark it a scribe? I like doin' vines I may have to pick up a smooth bone RR and try my luck.

Jack, I love that square head, pearl shadow jack, the pearl is on fire, it's iridescent. :)

After takin' picks for another thread I decided to throw this one in my pocket today, the bone is worried so smooth t's like glass and with my shoulder surgery less than 2 weeks away I'm rubbin' the heck outta this bone. I was so glad I rescued this one instead of sellin' it at the flea markets or throwin' it back in the toolbox I found it in covers in paint and frozen closed. Turns out it was a diamond in the rough and turned out to be a beautiful example of the German cutlers art nearly a hundred years ago. Grief & Schmidt Barehead Jack wrapped in smooth bone covers.

I use a scribe from an old drafting kit, usually. A needle in a pin vice works well, too. Really anything that will scratch.

That's a great worry stone of a knife. Best wishes for the surgery.

I'm carrying No. 10 today. I wish I knew what the 10 stood for - maybe a street address?

I've been puzzling over whether this says "LO" or "LD" Someone's initials, I assume. For some reason, a number is more mysterious.

Maybe Lex Luther kidnapped her before she could finish it ;)

Kris, every time you post the Bose Texas Jack, it just stops me in my tracks. I find myself just staring at it for a while. Love everything about it from the graceful clip, amazing swedges, the jigged bone and coloring are just stunning, and that shield just puts it over the top.

Something old that is new. I was growing tired of the rotten banana or whatever was on my Norfolk previously, so I took a chance on this amber stag. Oh boy, am I glad I did!

That's some gorgeous green, HST! What name did you bestow on it? (Not really a knife-namer myself.) Weren't you planning to do some kind of European endurance car rally? Is that what you came home from? If so, how was it??

- GT

Thank you for asking, GT. Yes, I did do the Gumball Rally and came home to do the GoldRush Rally, but only did half which stopped in TN. The other rally was in Europe. I've had a really crazy summer. I spend my summers in Germany, and towards the end, it became not a great place to be. I got home with new pups for my kennel and got my son registered in the nick of time for his sophomore year at GT.

Thank you for the compliment on my knife. I named it Melon-y as a play on Melanie; however, that should be PMed to you, JIC of rules (it's not bad but rules are rules). Moreover, I will be making a catch up post as soon as my head is above water. This kennel is cumbersome currently.

This post is worthless without pics. It's gonna be hard only using this knife for a week.

Ladies and Gents; great knives today!

Many thanks for the complements fellas  it is the nicest bocote I've seen. But when I got back this afternoon I wanted something a little darker and turned to this polished smooth diamond shield; it's beautiful
