Interesting take on the "10" on my Ulster Barlow, GT. It could also be a base six and that would mean it is the owner's sixth knife, or possibly a base 12 and then....
Thank you for your comments on my wooden carries. The spearpoint is a GEC 92 aka Talon and one of my favorite knives. Super light in hand and pocket.
You're so right, Dean; without knowledge of the intended base, that "10" is awfully ambiguous!!

Thanks for the mini-review of your Talon.
A bit of goldenrod today.
I'd have never thought I'd care for an "orange" knife, but yours is a beauty, Ken, especially with that shield!

I had this Old Forge lockback in my pocket for Wooden Wednesday but when I noticed one of my friends trying to open a package with a screwdriver

because he had lost his knife, I gave it to him.
Way to look after your friends, FBC!

(What will you do if you see him using the lockback to try to take out a screw??)
Day Seven of the challenge~ Full week with this serpentine jack..
now I know what the 'perfect' knife is. Kinda don't want to switch it out now
Congrats on completing your challenge, Tim! And you've achieved complete knife enlightenment, so you've got that going for you!
...
I switched to this ol' Schrade Cut co TL-29
Very nice, FBC! I have several old-school electrician knives similar to that, but none have an actual "TL-29" stamped on them.
Gary Try it you'll like it!

I believe is how the saying goes. The 48 Trapper in its many configurations is a versatile pattern. Slim and easy to pocket. I always love seeing that Stag Sowbelly
...
A Rosewood Viper for me on this Wooden Wednesday
Thanks for the Colt compliment, Ron.

I've tried carrying (standard) trappers, and just prefer many other patterns a lot more (although I'll admit I've never tried a trapper with wharncliffe instead of spey blade). That Viper is voluptuous!
Thanks GT on noticing the Viper's rattlesnake lanyard...my favorite style to make and definitely on all the Vipers that I carry.
Very cool lanyard indeed, Steve! I think I originally wrote "snakewood" in describing that Viper, but it's obviously the snakeskin acrylic; sorry about that!
...
I've got a pair of old, dirty knives on me today.
You might call them dirty and old, Shawn, but they look pretty snazzy to me!

Is there something strange about the shield on the knife on the right, or is it just the angle of the photo?
Carrying this single-blade Kabar that I picked up recently. It's a nice little knife but it has no markings other than the tang stamp. I've never seen one of these before - has anyone else?

Another superb vintage Barlow, Atiger; congrats!! Atlanta must be where old Barlows go to retire!
Totin' the Old Timer stockman that my dad gave me when I was a kid. He's definitely not a knife person, so this one is extra special because it's probably the only knife I'll ever get from him.
Very special to have that knife from your dad, CB! Is it a 34OT, or a bigger (or smaller) stockman?
...
Thank you, my friend. I was pretty surprised as well on the hold it had over me. Although forcing myself to mix it up a few days ago broke the spell, and we're officially back to the rotation!
...
Thank you. I'd almost forgotten the magic drawer, but I'm all better now
Didn't have time for new pictures, so I'll recycle a couple for my carries yesterday and today.
Yesterday was once of my favorites - not surprisingly, a Sowbelly!
And for today, back to the Every Day Barlow.
Glad to see you're back to being an equal-opportunity knife carrier, Mike, including the two excellent knives you posted! Sometimes you just have to let a particularly alluring knife know who's boss!
I haven't participated in awhile.... today it's a Russlock and Peanut.
Welcome back, Woodrow! I sure like the looks of your Peanut!

Are you starting to dry out some down there?
...
I have these two with me today

Good ones, Jack! What's written/depicted on the shield of the French ivory knife?
...
This BEAUTIFUL old CASE red bone Pruner arrived today. Paired with a vintage Primble Barlow for today's carry:thumbup:
...
Holy Cow, Paul, that's an incredibly handsome couple you have there!!
...
Evocative photo, Dean; Tastefully Captivating!
...
I carried these two yesterday.
And these two today. A couple of my favorites.
Have a good one!!
Ken K.
Quite a diverse and desirable quartet, Ken!!
I think I may have come up with a long term answer to the question of what I'm totin' today. A Queen 49 Cattle King.
This picture is too bright to see the jigging very well, but it shows off the color of the bone nicely. Paired with yesterday's picture showing the jigging you can get an idea of what this knife looks like in person. I'm loving it. Yes Gary, the covers are stag bone.
Sounds like you're quite taken with that Cattle King, Cory! Considering the other knives you've granted significant pocket time, can I assume this is a relatively large knife, too?
Carrying these two today. The little Imperial was from my uncle, and the Winchester is a recent pickup.
Very nice, Elgin!

I STILL like those inexpensive old Imperials as much as I did when I was a kid 50+ years ago!
Here are some knives I've carried this week, and every week - permanent occupants of my pockets.
A Vic Minichamp:
A Rough Rider small stockman (thanks r8shell):
A Case CV chestnut jigged bone Sodbuster Jr (thanks for the GAW Bob):
