What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gary

That is one gorgeous knife!!! Dare I say se*y

The peppers plants are laden and something had to pop:eek: And it was one of the branches, so a harvest photo was in order.

Not carrying, more like just arrived. Its really nice and perfect thickness and even.

Now to decide which one is the keeper, this or the od canvas micarta. Help me decide?!?!

I like Stag a lot Josh , so I don't understand why there is a question as to which to keep !!!
That is some pretty nice Stag my friend on a nice pattern.

Harry

Appreciate it Harry. A little group reassurance from the knife aficionados goes a long way.

That is one sweet Menefee Paul

Thank very much for the compliment, my friend! My sister liked the peppers so I gladly gave her some. One of the best parts of a garden:D There is something about the old Shapleigh that is just right;)

Just a stunner....wow! I love that color of micarta! Just like you like em tooo. I hope to see some serious patina on this beauty:D What is the steel

Harry, Josh and Gev Thank you guys. Josh, I'm with Harry in that's wonderful Stag:cool::thumbup:

Gev, the steel is 154cm my friend, so no patina but character shall develope:thumbup:

Gary - I was not in attendance at the game, but I most certainly was glued to the TV.:D My knife of choice for the whole weekend was my Tidioute 73 Scout with Ebony covers. I know my OO 73 Scout will be peed off at me, but that Ebony was calling my name Friday when I chose my weekend carry.:D
Either of those wood-handled 73s seems like a great choice, Ron!

GT, Thanks man. That is Rosewood on the Lambs Foot... wonder what it will look like in 50 years. The plant is a Aloe cactus kinda thing....I think. :D
...
I scored this Tommy Lee fixed blade from my good buddy Jon. I thought it paired nicely with the fancy pants Buck Esquire.

Thanks for the info, FBC. That Buck 501 is quite the "dress-up knife"!

Thanks for the words, Brett. I kind of agree that I've always been a stockman kinda guy, I've just never found one that fit quite right. I think I'm finally there. :D

We were camping again this weekend, and I took the 1095 version of the 49 this time. I was worried about the 1095 not holding up as well as the D2, so I put a convex edge on the spey blade and used it for the harsher tasks. It worked like a treat. I'm really starting to see the benefits to having three different blades. I spent another weekend in the woods with only one folding knife on me, and I have to say that I like it quite a bit.

Saturday:

...
Very cool report on your growing relationship with your Queen 49s, Cory!

Thanks for all the kind words GT, that's a great-looking Swayback
...
Watch your fingers GT, or you'll have nothing to count on! ;) :D

After a rather mixed weekend, it was a great surprise to get a phonecall from Charlie C yesterday, and a real treat to have a chat to him :) In honour of the great man, I'm carrying my first TC Barlow today, a gift from Charlie himself :)

Also, my Abbeydale Jack

Thanks, Jack. That Kudu is certainly an "anti-Peanut"! The dark Charlow and Abbeydale stag make an elegant pair!

...
I'm starting to care less and less about the looks I get on this construction site as I take my dorky knife pictures. This "river" of water was created by a laborer shovelling water about 6 feet away from me. He stopped when I tried to take the picture again with another knife. :o

Happy Monday, everyone!

Great photo, Shawn! Which Old Timer stockman model is that? It's a beauty!

Excellent shot, Gev; that Diamond Edge is a heart-warming old knife!

...
Today's Barlow is a Cattaraugus.

One of my favorite Barlows to see, Dean; the tiny script on the bolster always amazes me!

Not carrying, more like just arrived. Its really nice and perfect thickness and even.

Sublime stag, Josh! FWIW, I'd choose stag over micarta in a heartbeat.

Man, that knife has a LOT going for it, VTEdge!! How come I've never noticed it before??

Stag all day long and twice on Sunday. Chicks dig stag and in a few years that knife will mellow into something special!
:D:D Well-said, Johnny!

Incredible, Paul!

Just off to the docs this morning, had a terrible cough this past month, sound like a 60-a-day man! Got these two in my pocket

That's a luminous pair, Jack! A month of coughing sounds less than ideal (especially in the summer)! Hope you shake it soon.

Some of my knives for this week:

Thanks Thom, hope she didn't make you suffer too much ;) The doc sent me for chest X-rays, so I've had quite a busy morning.

I have one very similar to that Ernie, except they used MOTS rather than MOP :(
