What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Had to leave all my knives home for the flight to Idaho. I found my SAK Classic and Huntsman in the travel trailer, so they are what I'm carrying for the next month. I'm going to mail them to Florida, a day or so before the flight home.

Excellent to see that Strawberry Sundae, Greg! Just a fantastic acrylic pattern.

Thanks Shawn. Both you and r8shell are sporting have such lovely bareheaded ebony jacks today!

Wonderful shot Greg. When I saw it I just said in a deep terrible Italian voice, "The sauce, the sauce, taste it. Its very good."

Thanks, Brett! ;)

Nice pic of your whittling trio; is each knife next to a chain link it was used to make??

Thank you, GT. No, although that's a cool idea! That chain was started with the Conductor Whittler and then mostly finished with the Camillus. All three did put in a bit of work on the final finishing, though, since they were all out, open, and rarin' to go.

Speaking of the Camillus, it was in my pocket today.

Mercator day. I got my user jeans drying from washing so I'm going with lighter pants today, hence lighter carry.

Stunning Gary

A great photo composition of that classic knife, Jack!

Camillus pearl whittler on a cloudy, rainy Monday.

Thanks my friend, that's some lovely MOP :)

Couple of knives for all seasons, Jack!

Thanks GT, we sometimes get all the seasons in one day here! :D

Indeed Jack, indeed. A perfect crisp fall afternoon to evening. Good looking pair~

Thanks Tim, nice set-up, I like your key-per :)

Found these 2 at the Antique & Flea Market in Elkhorn yesterday .

Nice finds Harry

Thought I'd have a change today, Dutch Army Knife and my Coyote

What a fantastic knife, Gary! The amber stag is amazing and the grinds on that blade are impossibly sharp! What is the shield made of? It appears to have some figure to it...

Had a great morning at home on this chilly Monday. (so happy to finally feel Fall), it's off to work with the Orchard Gem.

Thanks, Mike! Brent did a great job on this knife. The shield is ss. The figure you see is finger prints and reflection.

That Orchard Gem is a fine looking knife.

Wow! Don't start any forest fires with those flaming covers, Gary!

Back to my weekly rotation schedule (Week 16 of 20 weeks on the current schedule).
Three knives from my Case-carrying weekend get to stay in my pocket this week, a stag peanut, a chestnut Sodbuster Jr (thanks, Bob), and a sowbelly stockman (thanks, Ron):

- GT
Yeah it does look to hot to handle, doesn't it? Nice selection of knives to choose from, Gary!

Spending the day with my daughter, Rick Menefee dogleg in mammoth and 154cm in my pocket

Love that Menefee, Kris. The blade selection is just about perfect and that Mammoth, wow!

As usual, many nice knives being toted and shown.

Chris

Your Hampton is outstanding, Chris. The story behind it is even more outstanding.

Stunning Gary

Thought I'd have a change today, Dutch Army Knife and my Coyote

Thanks, Jack. Nice pics of nice knives today! I don't recall seeing the Dutch Army Knife. I like to looks of it.

Nice Shing, bonzodog!

That's a striking duo, Dee!

… Gary, the market is a secret location and I can't let anyone know where it is.
…
Today I carried these. A Prov. Cut. Co. Barlow and a Vic Electrician.

…
Ken K.
I was afraid the location of your legendary market was classified, Ken. Cool Barlow, and I always enjoy an appearance of your old cross Electrician!

That stag Peanut looks great, GT!
…
I had a pair of Peanuts (Chestnut CV / Bermuda Tru Sharp) and a big, honking NF77 in my pocket today. Storms rolling in just in time to settle down with my Walnut Peanut that came in the mail today!

Thanks for the Peanut compliment, Shawn (although I get the impression that you've never seen a Peanut you didn't like ;)). Your trio looks great; I don't think I've seen a chestnut CV Peanut I didn't admire ;). Congrats on your new Walnut Peanut! Is that one of the Walnut Rogers jigged bone models that have got some recent attention here? Can't wait to see some photos!

…Breaking in my leather corgi key-per today along with these two pieces~

Tim, that antique amber sawcut is, IMO, the second-best TC ever (the 2-blade version is my Top Choice)! And what is that second knife?? It's a genuine objet d'art!:cool:

Found these 2 at the Antique & Flea Market in Elkhorn yesterday …....
Boker 492 and Cattaraugus #21476
The Boker is in pretty good shape , but the old Catt. will require some adjusting , cleaning , and blade attention , but is still pretty solid. $30 spent total

Harry
Congrats on acquiring that venerable pair, Harry! Beautiful knives at what seem to me to be bargain prices!

...
This old CASE redbone Pruner today...just a few hours old, arrived this afternoon via USPS:thumbup:

Congrats on the snazzy redbone Pruner, Paul!

…
Gary, it was a very busy weekend, but very much worth it. Got my daughter back home in Tennessee and 5 hours closer.:D That is quite a nice and versatile trio of Case goodness you have there. It does me proud to see that Sodbuster and Sowbelly together.
…
Today I got my Indian Head nickel out of the drawer.:D

Having your daughter 5 hours closer definitely sounds worth it, Ron! Thanks for the kind words on my Case carries this week.
Good to see your old nickel again, and man, you sure have a pleasing polish on the wood covers of that 73!

It's rather hard for me to believe but this has been my EDC for the past two weeks..

They were my first interaction with pocket knives that I can recall - and it was that memory of them that brought me back to traditional knives. Agift from work, this one is pretty special to me - it's hard to beat these little guys.
Today Vic alox Old cross red.

The red Alox looks fantastic, ISKski and Pt-Luso!

If you can only have 2 knives for the next month, Steve, your Classic and Huntsman are certainly not a bad choice at all!!

Thanks for some details on the history of that chain, Greg. :) I like that garden shot of your Camillus!

Superb knife, A.L.!

Makes dressing for the day a challenge, I reckon!

Thought I'd have a change today, Dutch Army Knife and my Coyote

Nice change of pace, Jack! (But I might experience some withdrawal symptoms if I don't see either the Abbeydale stag or the feathered buffalo horn lambsfoot for a few days. ;))

...
Nice selection of knives to choose from, Gary!
...
Thanks!

Among this week's knives:
A 1978 NKCA gunboat (thanks, TB)

You've got me there, GT, I do love me a Peanut! I love those old novelty Barlows. Such attention grabbers!

It is the Rogers Jigged Walnut Bone, and I'm so happy to get one with a deep dye on it. Bit more gaps between liners and springs than my other Case knives, but not terribly visible to the eye. Here it is with my dyed Amber Bone Cap Lifter Mini Trapper. There will be plenty more pics of this Peanut, though!

My memory is a little fuzzy A.L., but either the Mercator or an SAK was my first knife. That one is a beauty. Today I've got the "Odd Couple".

Haha I know you're fond of the 2 blade version ;) It's a front flipper made by a South African Maker Clyde Challenor in Damasteel. It's the definition of 'smooooooth~ action. That Zorro barlow has that extra charm to it~

Thanks Tim, nice set-up, I like your key-per :)

Thanks Jack, heh yeah a friend gave it to me last year, hadn't broken it out till now. That osage orange will only get better with time~

tumblr_oe63acHYrh1rzq6m9o1_1280.jpg

As usual, many nice knives being toted and shown.

Chris

Nice to see an in focus photo of the beauty of that one Chris~ *flipped it rightside up for some to see. I love Kerry's work and where it came from is very meaningful.
Harry, $30.00 well spent my friend:thumbup:

This old CASE redbone Pruner today...just a few hours old, arrived this afternoon via USPS:thumbup:

Although I don't have any use for a hawkbill, loving that Case Pruner Paul! Really fantastic piece.
