Exactly my friend, if I didn't have Old Red I might have to break out my African Blackwood clip and get it some love!:D I am at my daughters again this weekend so I hope to have my Green and Copperhead Sawcut on display soon. No red for me this time. I will admit they are lookers. :D I have not even taken time to photograph all of my Rendezvous goodies and the ones I have added to the flock since then. With the Forum knives coming also, what's a man to do!

Some very beautiful 77s posted in here the last day or two.

Great Teardrop, r8shell! I have the same Craftsman; it was my grandfather's. Unfortunately, I'm missing the last 1/4" or so of the clip point as it snapped off long ago.

Just received my Gray Sawcut Trappernut. This is the first Case knife I've received where the covers have disappointed me. The color is more blue and white than gray, and the Sawcut is only seen on the mark side. I'll sit on it a couple of days before deciding if I'll send it back or keep it and dye it.

I like the color quite a bit. The sawcut only being in the very middle is disappointing for sure. The one thing that really holds Case back aeshtetically to me is these knives where the jigging/sawcut/bark is almost completely ground off. As it sits, that's an attractive knife. If the sawcut extended to the pins it would be fantastic.

Thanks, Cory. The Sawcut is actually polished off on the pile side, which is the most disappointing thing. I'm not really bothered by it not extending further towards the bolsters.

Todays Kutmaster tl-29 by way of Utica, NY has had a long life as a work knife. It is in the process of going into retirement.
Stock wood slabs sanded to 5K then a few baths in BLO. Secondary is being turned into a cap lifter.

It's the (comparatively) easy life for the future days of this knife.

If anyone has any way to tell what the wood used on the slabs, I would love to figure it out. From what I can tell from the refinishing process, it seems to be similar to Zitan (Red Sandalwood).
