What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

...
Always good to see your special one-of-a-kind stockman!
Thanks, Dean. :)

LOL! Thanks pal :D

I'm just giving Imgur a try!
Good luck, Jack! Imgur is the only photo-hosting site I've ever used, and I think that if I can successfully use it, anyone can. I've never had any problems with it, other than those based on my own ignorance. (E.g., I have my knives organized in nice "albums" on the imgur site, but have never figured out how to post a photo directly from an album to BF. Instead, I have to search through all my photos, arranged by date uploaded, to find the one I'd like to copy to BF.)

Thanks GT, that Dura-Tool is a nice knife. Sort of a smaller metal version of a cap-lifter. Oh, and no more photobucket.
Alan, your nice Dura-Tool reminds me a little bit of this old Colonial I enjoy (it's been cleaned up some since I took this pic, and I think it's quite respectable now).

Gary, yes on the early voting. This is the first time in MA that we could vote early. The Scout is very pocketable and a handy blade. ;)
Both my wife and I are old enough for absentee ballots in Michigan, but we haven't gone that route yet. Our current polling place is down the alley past one house, across the street, and then across the parking lot to a church; not much more than 500 feet from our back door.

This fine little gem found it's way into my mailbox yesterday. It is such a great pattern.... a split back serpentine whittler, I guess.

Congrats on your wonderful new whittler, FBC!

Me too, Bob. Happy to have avoided the lines on Tuesday. We waited two hours to vote in the primaries.

Fantastic patina on the back springs of your knife, Cory! I like that look.

Google won't translate "Eldris" for me. I'm guessing "Elder", as in the similarly fat-handled and short bladed Scandian knives called "grandfather", meant to give better purchase and leverage for us feeble-gripped geezers.

Hmmm... I think I resemble that remark.

Thanks for the advice my friend

Yesterday, and again today....

The scales on that Wright & Sons are beautiful. As is the blade.

Ted, great pics.
GT, anytime you see many companies producing a similar model, you know its a good one.

Ted! Great pics and congrats on that forum knife...the color is excellent!

My new EDC showed up a little unexpected! 3.5" closed, 154CM steel, dark jigged bone with a "modified" blade setup (wharncliffe instead of the sheepsfoot).

Thanks Reese!!!

Nice one, Jake. Busy week and my hands hurt, taking my daughter to the hot springs today. Beautiful time of year here, 20F mornings with sunny 60F afternoons. These two are with me today,

Gentlemens Bowie from the late, John White M.S., with a sheath that Paul Long made for me, Cape Buffalo; along with a Texas jack from T. Bose in my pocket

Jake,

Great knife, thanks for sharing.

Here's the first custom slipjoint a friend made to my specs back in 2001, the perfect blade combo IMO. Think I'll pull it out of the safe for a while.

Beautiful filework, dovetailed bolsters, no washers.

Loving my recently acquired GEC 18 Beagle. Was playing with it in the lobby of my office building yesterday while waiting for some colleagues to go grab lunch. Dropped it about three feet onto tile. The result is the ding in the photo (the white, shiny part on the top of the bolster; shiny because it's reflecting the light above me).

There was a time this would have driven my crazy. Now when I see it, I'll think about my current life situation. I just started work again a few months back, my first full-time position after being a stay-at-home dad for four years. It's basically a dream job. The cherry on top is that my new co-workers - the ones I went out to eat with - are fantastic people.

Oh, and I won't be playing with the knife over tile or concrete/asphalt now! Although, I think I will go ahead and toss it in my pockets with keys/coins now - I'm guessing it will survive.

Nice, I love the pattern. I am carrying my Schrade Walden 804 today, another take on th serpentine stockman whittler.

What make is yours?
This one is a Winchester black box / Queen. I always like seeing your posts of that 804.

Congrats on your wonderful new whittler, FBC!

Thanks GT. I really really like it! It will be in my pocket again today.
