Kris, I am absolutely speechless! Simply amazing!
Ok..you have them in multiples and I still don't know what it is on the left of your picture ???![]()
Nice. But like others, I'd like to know what the silver item is at bottom left??!!
Great choice, Dee! You are a man of distinction.![]()
Your Grandfather's knife is one of the most beautiful knives I've seen, truly stunning
Quite a debut for your first post, with that in mind Traditional knives have been defined for this thread as being two hand opening and without thumb studs (something you couldn't be aware of).
The knife you have posted deserves due recognition, may I suggest you start a thread in the 'Custom and Hand Made Knives' section with some background to your grandfathers work. I've no doubt the knife would garner the recognition and praise it deserves

Nice quartet there Gary, awesome Stag on that Canoe:thumbup:

Thanks GT, me too!I hope that the Abbeydale isn't getting too puffed up, I may be wrong, but I thought I heard the words 'world peace' come from my pocket!

I was just to post much the same Paul:thumbup:
Thanks for the nice comments on my Buck canoe, Paul & Jack & Ron....
Thank you Gary. The Stag is extremely nice on that Buck Canoe.
Thanks, Gev. Not sure why, but Alox always appeals to me....
Always great to read your comments, Gary! Thanks for the smileGreat Alox
Kris, I hope you feel better (and warmer) ASAP. I rarely carry a full-size trapper, and I tend to prefer rounded, plain bolsters, but I'm still overwhelmed with appreciation for the artistic embellishment of your wharncliffe trapper!Sick today and bitter cold outside, these two are keeping me company. If you ever have the chance to handle a Tom Overeynder slipjoint, you will understand why I think he is one of the finest makers alive, a real all around master. The Seingass subhilt was with me when my daughter was born, there is a pic in Mugshots where I have the knife on her, and it was as big as her, now she is growing at such a rate I just want it all to slow down.

Ken K.
Ken and Ken, those are 3 attractively-handled knives, with Alox, stag, and jigged bone all represented. The Pioneer Apprentice has a great blade combo. I've been waiting for a Zane Grey Purple Sage pic since I first heard the name GEC gave that bone.
Snow in my forecast for the next 7 days (we had 5.5" Sunday and they say up to 6" more tomorrow and Friday)....

Thanks for the Soldier comment, Dean.
Holy cow! That's a striking penknife, Jeff! What's the closed length?Thin to win, this afternoon, with my little Winchester single spring swell center.

Jack, your "world peace" remark made me laugh, and reminded me of Miss Congeniality, a movie my daughter watched countless times when she was younger!

Kudos for a fantastic gift, Ron!!
Ron is that elegant Northwoods whittler a single spring knife?
By coincidence, I'm carrying a Black Box Winchester somewhat similar to black mamba's; mine is a dogleg/bullet-end/teardrop pattern (thanks, Paul)
