What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well that's no surprise, Ron is a notorious gent :D:cool: And has good taste in knives too!

Carried this today. Of the knives my grandfather made me, this is one of my favorites.

Your Grandfather's knife is one of the most beautiful knives I've seen, truly stunning:)

Quite a debut for your first post, with that in mind Traditional knives have been defined for this thread as being two hand opening and without thumb studs (something you couldn't be aware of).

The knife you have posted deserves due recognition, may I suggest you start a thread in the 'Custom and Hand Made Knives' section with some background to your grandfathers work. I've no doubt the knife would garner the recognition and praise it deserves:)

Sam

Ok..you have them in multiples and I still don't know what it is on the left of your picture ???

Nice. But like others, I'd like to know what the silver item is at bottom left??!!

Gev & MJ - It's call a Torqbar. PM sent with details. :)

Great choice, Dee! You are a man of distinction.:D

There's that green beauty again! That's a treasure!

Thank you very much, Dean! I'm just trying to keep up with all the beauties posted here daily. Everyone - thanks for sharing, and keep 'em coming!!

Dean - I didn't know you had so many users . But I like where this is going..... :)

(P.S.) Nice poem. Hopefully we can expect more of that too. ;)

My apologies, and thank you for the kind words.

Nice quartet there Gary, awesome Stag on that Canoe:thumbup:
...
Thanks GT, me too! I hope that the Abbeydale isn't getting too puffed up, I may be wrong, but I thought I heard the words 'world peace' come from my pocket! :D
...
I was just to post much the same Paul :)
...
Thank you Gary. The Stag is extremely nice on that Buck Canoe.
Thanks for the nice comments on my Buck canoe, Paul & Jack & Ron. :) I'm gradually acquiring some knives with stag covers, and I've been surprised at the variety of types of stag that exist. But my favorite type is the "toasted, gnarly stag" as exemplified by that canoe.
Jack, your "world peace" remark made me laugh, and reminded me of Miss Congeniality, a movie my daughter watched countless times when she was younger! :D

...
Always great to read your comments, Gary! Thanks for the smile :D Great Alox
Thanks, Gev. Not sure why, but Alox always appeals to me.

Sick today and bitter cold outside, these two are keeping me company. If you ever have the chance to handle a Tom Overeynder slipjoint, you will understand why I think he is one of the finest makers alive, a real all around master. The Seingass subhilt was with me when my daughter was born, there is a pic in Mugshots where I have the knife on her, and it was as big as her, now she is growing at such a rate I just want it all to slow down.

Kris, I hope you feel better (and warmer) ASAP. I rarely carry a full-size trapper, and I tend to prefer rounded, plain bolsters, but I'm still overwhelmed with appreciation for the artistic embellishment of your wharncliffe trapper!:thumbup::thumbup: Also enjoyed the memory you shared about your daughter and how fast she's growing.

Today it's a Lloyd in Stag and a Vic Apprentice.

Ken K.
Ken and Ken, those are 3 attractively-handled knives, with Alox, stag, and jigged bone all represented. The Pioneer Apprentice has a great blade combo. I've been waiting for a Zane Grey Purple Sage pic since I first heard the name GEC gave that bone.;)

Snow in my forecast for the next 7 days (we had 5.5" Sunday and they say up to 6" more tomorrow and Friday). :( Your beach shot is making me green with envy, Alan! :o

Speaking of green with envy...:thumbup:

...
Bob - Nice Case and you're welcome my friend!:cool::thumbup:

Northwoods Cocobolo Whittler for me today. :)

That's an unbelievable Case pen knife, Bob! In a later post, I was surprised to find out how large it is!
Kudos for a fantastic gift, Ron!!
Ron is that elegant Northwoods whittler a single spring knife?

Thanks, Gary. Your Soldier is a venerable and faithful companion and nearly indestructible.:)

Thanks for the Soldier comment, Dean. :) I really like that ebony with the endcap! Some folks prefer barehead ebony, but I think the silver endcap makes the knife look more distinguished. (I've got to increase my sharpening skills so I can add to my contentment! ;))

Thin to win, this afternoon, with my little Winchester single spring swell center.

Holy cow! That's a striking penknife, Jeff! What's the closed length?

Among the knives I'm totin' this week are these:
By coincidence, I'm carrying a Black Box Winchester somewhat similar to black mamba's; mine is a dogleg/bullet-end/teardrop pattern (thanks, Paul)

A Wenger equivalent to the Vic Classic (I can't remember the model name this morning - starts with E, I think)

Thanks for the info, Jeff. Bigger than I expected, and a size that makes it even more appealing to me.:thumbup:

LOL! :D I've not seen Miss Congeniality, but I have seen Sleeper! :D

That is a superb pic of your Winchester my friend, and a great-looking knife :) Well done Paul

Wright Lambfoot, top, in Horn today.

Good stuff Will

I'm carrying these two today :)

I've been carrying this Ebony #14 for the last few days. I go back and forth on the size. I think the #15 really hits the sweet spot when it comes to size, and I like the #77, too, but the #14 disappears in your pocket, and still offers plenty of blade to do just about anything you'd need it to. Can't wait to see what GEC does with this pattern down the road.

It was a gift from a special friend Ron (Half/Stop).

......to a special friend :)

Well that's no surprise, Ron is a notorious gent :D:cool: And has good taste in knives too!

Will I thought of this pattern (06247) the other day when you posted about your wish for Case to put Jigged Bone on their Pen knife. While this pattern is .5" longer, it is still very pocket friendly. It has been discontinued for some time but is readily available on the auction site. :D

Gary the Whittler is a single spring. It is built on the 38 frame from GEC. Thank you. :) Your Winchester is a beautiful pattern and you have captured it in a great photo!

Today I am totin this 92 Talon in Ebony. :)
