What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This finds it's way to my pocket frequently! What an awesome knife... the Harness Jack...

Today: The #99 below is both What Traditional Knife I'm totin AND my latest acquisition.

I've got two of the 99's Alan and I think you'll find that it may replace anything else you have. It's usually the one I grab when nothing else fits the bill. My ebony is probably my most used. BTW, that one is real "purty".

Alan: Yeah, I like it a lot. I have an old Case stag lockback that is about the same size and a little thicker, I used to carry. It has a cracked and loose piece of cover. I don't want to lose that piece of stag. So this will be one of my go to carriers for awhile. Anyway that's my rationalization:rolleyes:

I found it at Mikes in the UK. Love the color of the smooth bone.

Thanks for the reply.

I've gotten behind on this thread and it's taken a bit to get caught up on everyone's fantastic posts. As always, a bunch of gorgeous knives showing up.

Today's carry - frontier bone.

Double stag for me today, my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot and my Abbeydale (the latter pictured at 14th century Harewood Castle) :)

Those are stagilicious, Jack!

Always good to see old faces and new, and the daily carryings of so many fine knives, even if I can't read through the multitude of pages that zoop by if I don't read this thread (throughout) every day!

A repost, but this picture captures my ongoing pocketses goodsomes, picked up every morning, excavated from pockets and sheath and placed in this leather catchall at the end of each day. I not only am enjoying these knives, but a certain refreshing dialed-in-ness.

Beautiful EDCs, Pertinux! Your I*XL Barlow is such a treasure.

You are a wise man to carry those two, Gev!

I have a feeling that the Case scout will be getting the majority of my pocket time for a while.

'Buzz, that Scout is a great example of Case quality and must be a joy to carry.

Wow! What a great photo of that beauty. Looks like you are putting it to good use. (A little off topic - what kind of pen is that?)

I love the swedge ground through the tang....

A fine knife, Jake. The more I see it, the more there is to like (for example, the swedge).

I carried my Grail today (Copperhead sawcut TC) as well as a Case sheepfoot.

Thanks Alan and Dean. The swedge on the spey blade is the same design, drawn into the tang.

The wind was whipping this 15° morning but the sunrise was incredible! Every time I pop this Blackwood Barlow in my pocket in reminded of how cool a wood Blackwood is. Probably my favorite wood. I still remember seeing my first Ebony and Blackwood knives in person and realizing how rich and densely colored wood could be.

Beautiful shot Macchina!

Woke up to 6 degrees F today. "Baby It's Cold Outside!"
Came in from my morning walk and warmed up by the fire. Halfrich Small Rounder with me today.

Always love the Halfrich Gary!

I'm carrying something new today. A 1974 bone covered Case 6445R scout. I'm most impressed. The walk and talk is exceptional. It's built like a tank in comparison to my Camillus and Queen scouts, and is very comfortable in the hand. Nice and thick. The can opener is actually sharp, and will make a great package opener. The initial edge was beyond horrible, but nothing that a couple of diamond rods couldn't take care of. Overall, it's a real keeper. Case never should have stopped producing these. I've typically come to associate Case with thin delicate feeling knives, which generally don't appeal to me. This is the exact opposite. Robust and tough as nails. A work knife. More GEC-like than modern day Case-like.

Great looking scout Buzz!

I have been carrying a Buck 501 for the past couple of days.

Wow! What a great pair Gev

These 2 have completely locked down my pockets:

It's easy to see how that might happen Shawn ;)

Gorgeous Jake

Those are stagilicious, Jack!

Thanks Dean, that's a great pairing my friend :)

Getting late here, and I'm out at the crack o' dawn in the morning. Already got these two in my pockets for tomorrow though
