What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I do have a green knife! I'll be carrying red and green probably on the 24th and Christmas Day.

The CS on your muskrat must stand for Completely Special!
Looking forward to the Christmas Combo, Dean! Thanks for the muskrat compliment; I guess two can play at the "Make Up Knife Acronym Meanings" game! :D:thumbup:

Double stag for me today, my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot and my Abbeydale (the latter pictured at 14th century Harewood Castle) :)
...
Stand-out double stag, Jack! You always keep us off-balance with your occasional little twists like double stag on Wooden Wednesday! ;)

Still loving this cheap, tiny little knife.

I tend to prefer larger 2-blade toothpicks if I can get them, but that looks like a handy little slicer, Pomsbz! Kissing Cranes?

...
A repost, but this picture captures my ongoing pocketses goodsomes, picked up every morning, excavated from pockets and sheath and placed in this leather catchall at the end of each day. I not only am enjoying these knives, but a certain refreshing dialed-in-ness.

Bountiful bucket of blades, ~ P.

Carrying an old HSB clip blade barlow with ginger-colored bone handles today...

A lion is the King of Beasts, but Atiger is the King of Barlows (vintage), it seems!! ;) Another awesome one!

My work knife from ABS J.S. Bruce Barnett, Sheoak lace and some complex mosaic damascus, starburst pattern, 1084 and 15N20, A2 spring

Just a totally fabulous "work knife", Kris!!!:thumbup:

Prajnaparamita

My Hindi (??) is quite rusty, Gev, so I don't understand the "Prajna" part, but I sure recognize a "pair a mighta" fine knives when I see them!!;)

Hello all, happy solstice and what not. I've not been around here much, I've been rather busy of late with a very very small and extremely demanding lady (no not my mother in law - she's not that small).

Just thought I'd check in with my wooden Wednesday contribution. I find that with a new baby and Christmas around the corner; I'm cutting much more than usual: Kimble tags, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, opening cards (thank you jack) and such like. So I carried two today, which I rarely do, purely because I couldn't decide on a blade profile.

Twofer Wooden Wednesday

A pair of pairs of Good Wood for Wednesday, Paul & Dee!:thumbup: Glad you had time to check in for a minute, Paul! :)

I have a feeling that the Case scout will be getting the majority of my pocket time for a while.

3nCIlqhh.jpg
Buzz, does your scout have the legendary Case red bone? I thought that yesterday (and had heart palpitations ), but today's photo makes the bone seem more brown. Either way, the bone on that Case is arresting!

Well, this beauty lost its place on my collection shelf when it's new in the box sibling showed up Monday. So it is now resigned itself to live out its days in my pocket ready at all times to carry out the task it was designed for...WORK. As of today this is my daily driver and I'm very happy about that!

Clay
Clay, are you sure that's not a promotion for your pictured Buck 303??

My other knives are getting jealous of this pair.

Just remember who's in charge, Rachel! ;)

...
These 2 have completely locked down my pockets:

Praiseworthy pair there, Shawn! Is your TC a 14 or a 15? (I thought when the 14s came out I had developed a foolproof way to distinguish between them even if I was just looking at one by itself, but I've apparently forgotten what the key features are. :()

I love the swedge ground through the tang....

I love that photo, Jake! And this is meant completely as a compliment, but in that photo I see an Uncle Henry 897UH that's died and gone to heaven and been transformed into the perfect form it was always meant to be!:cool:

...
Today's carry - frontier bone.

Ken, I'm really enjoying and admiring your recent series of literary illustrations to pair with each of your daily carries!

...
I carried my Grail today (Copperhead sawcut TC) as well as a Case sheepfoot.

Overwhelming, Dean!!

...
I have been carrying a Buck 501 for the past couple of days.

The Buck 501 has never been on my radar, and all of a sudden I've seen 2 or 3 this week that make me think it's a VERY elegant knife! Yours is a beauty, Erik!

...
Getting late here, and I'm out at the crack o' dawn in the morning. Already got these two in my pockets for tomorrow though

Should be a thrilling Thursday with that pair, Jack!

...Today and through the holidays I've got this pair in green bone and green alox.

Splendid seasonal shot, Jeff!

Haha, thanks Dean! I wanted to branch out a little today. :p :)

That's a very good question. I'm not sure. I don't think it's "pretty bone". It's sort of an absurdly deep red. It usually looks like dark brown. But then when the lighting is just right, the red pops right out. I have a feeling that the looks will only improve as the covers start to get pocket worn.

Thanks, Gary! Are you gassing me? :p :D

You can never go wrong with a SAK . The blue Alox is flying high. Okay, Okay, I'm done (I think) .

Somehow this Case is finding its way into my pocket pretty consistently. And, with the chunky 25 they make a good pair.

This photograph really made me smile - a white Christmas snowfall over the church your parents were married in ...perfection :D:D

Thanks my friend :) That's actually a picture of a different church by the same artist, but I went to school with the vicar there, and I also knew his father, who was the Revd. there previously - in fact I remember him being ejected from Sheffield Wednesday's football ground for fighting! :D

Definitely a looker! :)

Very festive Jeff

Not only a great knife, Ron, but also a great photo!

+1

Thanks pal, I struggle to remember what day it is! :o

Should be a thrilling Thursday with that pair, Jack!

Thanks again GT, it's been pretty good so far - I received a wonderful package from Duncan, a card from Stan Shaw and his wife, and my Mini-Quest to find a Ring-Opener for one of our friends here was finally successful :)

Back with the peasants eh?! ;) I really like the way you've modded that one :)

Can't go wrong with the mini-copperlock! I was given one just like that by Ron. I in turn gifted it to a friend's brother who I ride with and witnessed using an old Case knife that was absolutely on it's last legs. He was quite happy to get a gift of a much better replacement pocket knife.

These two today,

Tim Steingass New Orleans special in CPM 154 and some beautiful, Sambar stag, sheath by David Seward; along with a whittler from Joel Chamblin, amber stag and Mike Norris damascus

Travman, that charred oak is terrific!

Alan, that's a great looking pairing!

Yeah. This thread will see a lot of this knife.

Buzz, I for one, don't think we can see too much of that knife!

.... Ken, I'm really enjoying and admiring your recent series of literary illustrations to pair with each of your daily carries!

Thanks GT! Today's carry and literary illustration, with apologies to Raymond Chandler (and Mike). :D

Yeah. This thread will see a lot of this knife.

I sure hope so, she's a beauty!

Thank you GT, I like it so much I am considering ordering another from Buck's custom shop.

Today I am carrying a Trestle Pine Knives Portage with circassian walnut covers. I will admit the forward positioned nail nick makes the knife look a bit odd, however the knife is very pocket friendly and functional with the EO.

I'm still busy and haven't had a chance to post much.

Great knives everyone!

I went with these two today.

Have a good one all!
